I posted imaged of Lucius and the General. Still have to make Markham and Arria in the DAI CC. And then their bios will be fully complete.

I updated Arria Verisimo's Bio to include her photos. I used three mods for her appearance (for the starter outfit, the makeup, and the long hair) Will have to play her all the way to The Winter Palace to get her Fancy Ball Gown pics. This is the first time since 2016 I intentional made a beautiful character o-o man, she's pretty. time for her son! Edit Add: All done! Pictures galore! So tricky keeping them all looking related but also not looking like clones!

I decided to write the story of Issala entering Dragon's Peak for the first time as my character introduction. He was led to the castle by a guard currently named "Jonathan;" is there some other name I should use instead?
Also, how does the castle's infirmary (or whatever they have) work? I assume the local Bann can veto any hires he doesn't approve of, but would Issala be taken directly to the local lord, or would whoever's currently in charge look him over first?

Bann Sighard has a very hands on approach to hiring personnel so the guard (Jonathan is fine for a random name) would probably take him straight to him if he has arrived without an introduction from someone else or previous contact with Oswyn. Otherwise if, say, he had met Jasce on one of his trips to Denerim and he had suggested joining up, then he might have already cleared the hiring with Oswyn prior to Issala's arrival and the guard would know to take him straight to the infirmary.
Take it that the local medic (Landon) has been there some years and is aging somewhat, which is why he wouldn't be travelling to Cumberland with the Bann's party, so Oswyn might well have advertised in Denerim for a someone to take his place. A knowledge of conventional, non-magical healing would be needed because competitors are only allowed magical healing for their wounds and breakages once eliminated from the competition. Whilst still active participants only non-magical help is allowed. The ability to manipulate and sooth tired muscles would be particularly valued as would any special ointments that aid healing and recovery of torn muscles and bruises.

I'd pictured Issala just asking around, so it'll be straight up to the Bann... who probably already knows he's coming, since a giant asking around about the castle would probably have prompted some whispers.

Just one other thing. The date will have moved on from my initial post for Dragon's Peak. You can either leave it without a date or date it Solace (month 7) as they will be leaving for Cumberland during that month.

I had kind of assumed that I'd had time to settle in before the group left, though. You know, so that the older healer isn't trusting his boss's son's life to a complete stranger.

That's true but may be he does come with references from Denerim. Still it is probably best not to use a date and that will leave some latitude about when exactly he arrives before they leave for Cumberland.
Landon may well just get him to give a demonstration of how he will help recovery times on the knights and then ask them what they think. They'll still be better off with the guy they recruited locally than having to rely on the medics in Cumberland (who may have been bribed by the opposition)

it requires gervaise NPCs and apparently deep understanding of dates? I think the dates can be left reasonably vague in the actual narrative. The timescale is more in the background.

I haven't asked anyone else to submit their contribution for review before posting. If I do spot any glaring errors then you can always amend your post later but I'm sure it will be okay. I look forward to reading it.

Lovely post, phoray I wanted to announce that due to my being summoned to fullfill my country's mandatory army service starting next Monday, and thus being more or less inactive in the forum for that 9 month duration,me and gervaise have come to an agreement as she was kind enough to adopt Loyalty for the duration of my absence. This means she'll be posting for my character in addition to her own, which lemme tell you is a really cool thing since we can all agree that her writing is top-notch Depending on the situation,i might be able to post now and then, but until i return,Loyalty is in gerv's hands. Have fun, guys!

Images of Cumberland. The first is the view on approach by sea. The golden domed building is the Sun Dome which, as you can see, dominates the skyline. Beneath this lies the palace that is the headquarters of the Chantry Circle of Magi. Its size reflects the fact that it was originally built for a wealthy noble family but when subsequently a daughter of that house was discovered to be a mage, her mother donated the building to the Chantry to house the Nevarran Circle so the girl could continue to live in the style to which she was accustomed. It has been the property of the Chantry ever since. When calm was restored after the election of Divine Victoria (Leliana), the Mortalitassi made representations to return it to the ownership of Nevarra. However, Grand Enchanter Vivienne successfully argued it should remain the property of the Chantry for utilisation by their loyalist mages and associated Templars. She will be in residence there during the Grand Tourney, dividing her time normally between the Sun Dome and the White Spire in Val Royeaux. The second image is also concept art by Bioware for Cumberland. I assume this now shows the approach to the Sun Dome from the landward side, although the top of the dome is different from the coloured image so this is possibly another domed building, such as the Ducal Palace. The large statue on the left reflects the Nevarran custom of venerating their ancestors with heroic statues and other grandiose displays. The city is said to be notable for its open, airy courtyards, its cobblestoned streets and well-made 3 storey buildings decorated with ornate facades. I think these are more likely to be made from stone, probably sandstone, rather than wood. The final image is actually an aerial view of Nevarra City but I would imagine that Cumberland is arranged on similar lines with the city carefully laid out on geometric lines having been planned that way rather than just thrown together (as Denerim was).

A few more scenes so you know what to expect when the action moves to Nevarra. This first one is very much how I think it would look in the main city on the east bank. The knights arriving would be the Chevaliers from Orlais who are staying there rather than slumming it with the rabble in the tented village. This second is probably one of the side streets as opposed to a main thoroughfare. (Please ignore the modern figures) This is what I imagine they mean by ornate facades, although I think these buildings are one storey too high. An example of the different types of exotic food stuffs on display in one of the food markets found on both sides of the river. This is to give the idea of how the area beyond the western wall of the city would look like as you approach the area dedicated to the Grand Tourney. There are lots of temporary market stalls that have been set up to serve the visiting competitors staying in the tented village (obviously not visible in this scene as they would be behind the camera but this gives the general idea). On the far right of the picture is what I assume is a gateway out of the city, so these market stalls are to the north of the grand walkway up to the main arena.

Here are a couple of images I had in mind for Duke Sandral Anaxas, Ruler of Cumberland: And Prince Ferdinand Pentaghast: I wanted to give the old dragon slayer a bit of an exotic feel and also make Nevarran costumes seem a bit more distinctive than simply being another version of Orlesian fashion. I thought they would be a bit of a mix seeing as they are on the border of the two empires of Orlais and Tevinter, with much trade passing through from other nations as well, so they would have picked up a fair few influences over time. I like this picture though principally because it seemed sufficiently regal as befits the King's brother but as someone who isn't particularly interested in politics, would have developed his own style that would not necessarily be in keeping with the current fashions of the nobility.
