The environments in this game are quite stunning. The story is quite interesting. The characters ain't so bad and most dialogue is fun to go through. I love all these accents too. I also enjoy the amount of buildings you can go into without entering a brief loading screen.
But I think that's currently the only things I can find worth praising.
The character customization sucks donkey doodoo. I guess I'm expecting too much since I've accustomed to at least DA:I amount of customization. But sheez, you can't even get green eyes? What's that about? I also really don't like how some important characters can have the same hairstyle as you. Come on now.
The gameplay isn't as fun as DA:I was for me. It's not terrible, it's not broken, it works, but I'm not digging it. I like my flashy buttonmashing because my brain is peasized. Thank you. Combat definitely isn't the FUNNEST thing about the game, but I can see how it'd appeal to a lot of people. I'm also bad at it. I also really would like a jump button. I feel so empty without a jump button!
I also went through one of the romances quickly and I'm not really impressed. I'm hoping the last bit of romance isn't the sexing scene.
Nevertheless, I'm really curious to see how the game ends, the story and world building elements are definitely just right, but outside of that I just really wish I'd be playing DA:I instead.

finally this thing downloaded and installed, tried a bit of the tutorial and a bit of running around and do a couple of quests and I don't need anything more, tomorrow the game comes home, very positive vibrations so far and I know well that if it starts that way it ends that way for me.

After 6 hours of gameplay, I can only say it beats much of the swill served today and no loot boxes!
On the other hand, one can only subjectively judge when one's finished the game. None the less, I am enjoying this game, hope enjoyment lasts till the end.

To my pleasant surprise the side quests are turning the game in a sort of a detective adventure. I am even starting to consider putting points into Science of all things. And I do enjoy the disguise mechanic still. Investigating murders, disappearances, crimes and other mysteries, sprinkled with diplomacy, different stat checks and a hint of subterfuge is something I didn't know I want from a game. I can already see how all of this can be expanded upon in the future. Spiders definitely delivered something worthy for Bioware fans, or at least for this Bioware fan  |

The others that I've seen appear to be far more advanced. I figure De Sardet is simply in the early stages. I also thought the mark was an early stage of the malichor before playing the game, now I'm really not so sure. Especially after reading the malichor research note I found in the prologue area and seeing what actual malichor infected people looks like. Okay playing a bit more, I think you're right, it's not the Malichor. I have my suspicions what it means, but it could be spoilery...

It's too early to me to ascertain where this falls amongst other RPGs, but even with only a handful of hours at it I can definitely say that it's far better than Anthem.

I played for about an hour this morning and I did have one glitch where the screen just went white during a conversation cutscene. The cutscene played out and everything returned to normal after. |

Getting reports that performance on the PC is pretty un-optimized, with laggy performance even on decent rigs. Anyone here having issues? Butter smooth here at 1440p and everything on Ultra. Getting steady 80+ FPS, sometimes fluctuating down to 65 and often up to 100. I had an episode where the game kept freezing for a few seconds and I was starting to get up in arms, but on a hunch checked the other processes and the silly Win10 was sneaking an update at the same time. No issues after that. But I do keep a pretty clean and healthy system and don't have issues with 99 % of the games out there.

I have only played 5 hours and had no tech glitches except FRAPS was stopping the Steam overlay working because I had remapped the Screenshot key to be F12 which is the same as Steams Screenshot key. One in game glitch of an NPC trying to walk through a gate that was closed continuously!!!!

Good point, I am guessing this is linked to Iakus comment above about his suspicions which I have now about De Sardet's heritage because it looks a lot like one of the natives face markings

It never even occurred to me that that had something to do with the malichor. I just figured it was Kurt feeling very clever at having merged "greenhorn/green ears" and "blue blood" into one nickname.
