In somewhat related news, I somehow managed to beat the first mass effect from the remaster (scanned all the keepers too to boot). Which means I'm almost caught up with the narratives in these games. This is pretty great news for me considering I don't have to rely too much on multiple videos anymore for the narratives.

After the events of Freedom's Progress, it became evident to the Shepard what she needed to do in order to stop the Collectors. She needed to build a team, and much to her displeasure, she also needed the help of the Illusive Man and Cerberus. Unfortunately she could not bring her old team together due to the fact that it's been two years and they now have other engagements. Liara was in Illium, apparently working for the Shadowbroker. Wrex was in Tuchanka putting the pieces back together. Kaidan was still within the Alliance, and Garrus had vanished altogether. The fact that Garrus had vanished from even the Illusive Man worried Shepard, but she hoped that wherever he was, he was still in one piece. So she will need to build a new team, with a new Normandy. Fortunately, some old crew members were already on her side in the form of her old pilot and doctor. Seeing their familiar faces again made Shepard at ease, but she still needed to clear her head before she started her recruiting.
As Shepard got settled into the new Normandy, she noticed a blinking notification on her computer. It was from Admiral Hackett.
Commander Shepard:
Our scans in the Amada System have turned up something we thought you should see: the final location of the wreckage of the SSV Normandy.
By the time Shepard finished the rest of the message, she knew what she really needed. Something that's been troubling her since she first woke up after two long years. And with that, she headed to the ice planet of Alchera to say one final goodbye to her old ship and fallen crew.
As Shepard exited the shuttle, she felt as if she was in a deep slumber. The very planet of Alchera elicting memories from her dreams. Snow fell around the crash site as the stars glowed from above. Ice was deeply embedded into the planet's surface, and Shepard could feel a blistering chill even underneath her armor. Memories long repressed soon surfaced from the weary Commander. And as she step forward into crash site it was hard for Shepard to push those moments away. As Shepard stepped gently stepped forward she too noticed the once reliable Mako, now an immobile relic collecting frost. Shepard carefully pressed her hand against one of the wheels. Dirt was still coated from its many travels.Shepard soon spotted the old galaxy map, now in pieces, and sighed. She could remember being hunched over, gazing at the map as she charted her course in pursuit of Saren. She could also remember fire surrounding the map as the ship fell apart. Without another thought, Shepard pressed on.
As Shepard made her way around the site, she collected dog tags from her crewmembers who perished two years ago. It was difficult for Shepard to collect those dog tags. Each of the them eliciting a specific warm memory. All she felt was heavy guilt as the blistering cold eat against her shoulder. It was difficult for Shepard not to forget the many people she left behind on Earth, Torfan, Virmire, and now, Alchera. Those ghosts still lingering in her thoughts, with eyes open and closed. But Shepard marched on, carrying out her duty to honor the fallen and the past.
But as soon as Shepard collected all of the dog tags she could find she noticed movement from behind. Shepard quickly drew her gun in response and heard a faint clicking noise. She was no longer alone.
Very carefully, Shepard walked towards the source of the noise. As soon as she made significant progress, she heard the strange noise again. The clicking noise was more prominent, and she can instantly recognized the noise from long ago. Moments later, she suddenly felt a red laser coming towards her way and she quickly reached for cover. From a brief glance, it was a geth sniper, occupied by two more geth.
As Shepard briefly got out of cover she made quick work on the two geth with her combat drone assisting her. Before long, it was only her and the geth sniper. Shepard was not a sniper herself, so her best option was to quickly strip the geth of their shields before neutralizing them. This would be tricky however considering most geth snipers are incredibly quick and accurate with a sniper rifle; one wrong move from Shepard and she could be resting with her old ship once more.
So with haste, she quickly stripped the geth from their shields. Then, she made quick head shots from her pistol to finally eliminate the threat once and for all. As Shepard strode over to the sniper to investigate she could feel her rage bubbling up. The very idea of her enemies trying to kill her on the same site that she and her crew members died felt uncalled for, but as she saw a close look of the sniper, her rage quickly dissipated. The fallen geth looked like any ordinary geth, except for one piece of detail on their shoulder. They were wearing an old piece of N7 armor that Shepard used to wear two years ago. Shepard's eyebrows furrowed as she carefully touched the old piece of N7 armor. But how, and why?
Shepard needed more information on this geth, and just how and why they managed to recover one of her old armors. So against her better judgment, she decided to recover what was left of the geth into the Normandy. Perhaps investigating the body and data files from within could unearth just what the geth have been up to for the past two years.
With the dog tags collected, and a geth in her arms, it was time to put the past finally to rest, and take care of the future. Before there will no longer be a future to look forward to.

Also, as some have previously noted, Hero has been AWOL. In fact, he was AWOL throughout the game, which was why no one died during the night and why his ability did not activate. So hopefully he is fine IRL and is just busy.
