Fell asleep in a chair and then couldn't log on. Anyway that has given people more than 24 hours so the voting is now closed. Need to double check the tally. Bear with me if I don't post the narrative straight away.

There is a twist in the tail to this narrative so read it carefully. A little surprise for Valentine's Day. ----- Shepard called everyone together including the person previously kept under surveillance. They joined the rest of the group without further comment.
“I know today has been difficult for you all but in response to your suggestions we have double checked the security cameras for the behaviour of everyone over the last 24 hours and someone in particular has been behaving oddly. Isn’t that so, Javik?”
The Prothean gave him a superior stare. “It only appears peculiar to inferior minds.”
Then he started to twitch and his eyes blinked rapidly, before he collapsed unconscious. Shepard went to the door and summoned security.
“Take him away and keep him under quarantine until further notice.”
He glanced at one of the crew present and nodded to them.
“Liara cleared you this morning so I want you to go with them and ensure he gets there safely.”
As the door closed, he breathed a sigh of relief. May be the worst was over. Then a familiar chilling voice was running through his head.
“Shepard, you continue to be an annoyance, fighting against the inevitability of what is to come. You think you have achieved a success, removing a threat by an organisation that pitifully attempts to mimic our methods, but you are wrong. Now we must intervene directly. ASSUMING CONTROL.”
Shepard knew the voice hadn’t meant him but that he had been the only one to hear it as his attention refocussed on the room to see anxious looks of enquiry on everyone’s faces.
“We are facing a new threat. Harbinger.”
The eliminated person is: Romice, the Cerberus Indoctrinated Javik The effects of this elimination are as follows:
Liara is so depressed that she will not be able to investigate anyone tonight.
As we only started with two spies but ultimately there were 10 players and then one of the spies has been eliminated on the first day, I have introduced the Harbinger of Doom.
One of the current heroes has been targeted by Harbinger and is now under his control. They will not be told the name of the Cerberus agent, nor will the agent know who they are, but they will be immune to indoctrination by Cerberus so can only be voted off or eliminated at night by one of the heroes. They are not capable of indoctrinating other players. They win if they survive to the end of the game with or without the Cerberus operative, so if the latter is voted off the game will continue until the HoD is eliminated.
Note to Liara: The person you investigated the first night will not be affected by this as they were out of the room when Harbinger attacked. NIGHT 2 IS DECLARED.

I had the dialogue with Mordin - very interesting. I love that guy. And I did the loyality missions for Thane and Samara. Thanes glitched a bit in so far, as the politician vanished in the wall, when his guard entered the shop and I had reaload a few times to get his position. I killed Morinth, I don't need a vampire on board the Normandy and I can't risk any glittering. I don't think, there is a risk with Morinth, she probably would have Edward Cullen for breakfast, but still. TBH, she does remind me more of a succubus than a vampire, but I can't risk her sleeping around the Normandy and killing my crew. At least Samara can behave herself. I still have to find Legion I guess You make it sound as if Samara is of the same ilk as her daughter which she is not. Samara never intended to birth Ardak-Yakshi nor did Morinth want to be one. They were both dealt a cruel hand. rooomiceee! Be evil! please You got your wish!

Wow, we got one by sheer fluke. Good job everyone who voted her! Harbinger of Doom.. cool plot twist, Gervaise! It will be interesting to see how that plays out. How to identify them too? Maybe the person staying under the radar the most? I don't know.

I would like to thank Fylimar for her wisdom, because it was only thanks to her that I managed to get a slim suspicion where it obviously belonged.
Yes. You understand correctly, and I will not keep it in the shadows.
Now I shall watch what develops (in between playing a LOT of Kingdom Come Deliverance).

Bit of a bummer that Liara can't investigate this night, but given the fact that the Heroes actually got an agent during the first round, I'll still take this as a plus. I'm glad I went with my gut and stuck to that vote! Also, the introduction of Harbinger seems like a neutral evil version of the survivor role. And a bit of werewolf since they're immune to some night abilities. I like it!

It seems that it was significant, judging by the plot twist.
But you know, clever girl pointed me the right way, isn't that right, Fylimar? There's someone who deserves a medal.
How's the Garrus romance going?

There is a nice mod to fix that...which I swear I had installed when I played femshep, but it was no longer in my game when my new Shepard started ME3 the other day. I have no idea how I could have removed it. I just googled that. Ashley Legacy mod? She looked great in that! I find modding Frostbyte games a pain though. I've done it very little.

Which is really strange considering that the story of ME, like DA, is not really appealing for the typical teenage boy, I guess. And it seems, most players here are older - between mid twenties and fifty Don't stop at 50. It's a mature game too, so not like teenage boys should be playing it. And then they did the same for DA2 with Isabela. The demo had her offering Hawke a chance to come by for 'company' later, even though that's not at all how it actually sounded in game.

OH MY GAWSH! Yay! I knew Valentines was going to be a nice day. EDIT: Wait a minute! What is this harbinger of doom talk? You mean you've used a random generator to hit one of the players (minus lia, whoever lia checked and the last spy?) and now they're like EDI but without a role list? Or did the remaining spy choose a target? I'm also confused, does the player themselves know they've been turned evil or it's a surprise for them at the end of the game?

Or did the remaining spy choose a target? I'm also confused, does the player themselves know they've been turned evil or it's a surprise for them at the end of the game? From what I'm assuming, Harbinger the character is definitely Evil, but this role is more third party/neutral evil. They would be better off working with the spies, but they can win without them, like the survivor and werewolf role. It seems Harbinger has to outlast the Heroes in order to win in general. So it's a bit different than EDI, since EDI has to win with spies if turned. I'm also assuming that the Harbinger player was informed that they're now Harbinger.

Just to explain the reason I felt the need for the Harbinger of Doom. Originally there were only 8 players so I thought that anything more than 2 spies would be too much. Then I rolled Javik as evil and that seemed to confirm it. Had you not eliminated him that role could have been devastating if used at the right time. This might have been true even with the additional players. However, eliminating him on the first vote actually pushed the balance far too much in favour of the heroes, particularly as they hadn't lost anyone vital the first night, so I used my contingency plan for this eventuality. If you think about it we are actually back to the same situation as if we had begun the game with 8 players, with the advantage of some information from play thus far to assist you.

As you wish, primitive. I still can't believe you guys got one of us on the first day through sheer luck I was almost sure we got 3 bad guys and they're cackling as they bandwagon on an inno, but no that was just player intuition. From what I'm assuming, Harbinger the character is definitely Evil, but this role is more third party/neutral evil. They would be better off working with the spies, but they can win without them, like the survivor and werewolf role. I just want to know who targeted one of the heroes, GM/rng or the last spy. If I were a spy I'd have created problems for hero team by blasting one of the least suspicious player now, such as you. That's actually another good question, does survivor win with everyone or only if they live to the end plus the villains win.

That's actually another good question, does survivor win with everyone or only if they live to the end plus the villains win. I assume you mean Harbinger. They only win if they make it through to the end either on their own or with Cerberus spy. In a way I have just reinstated the Clone role with them having opted for siding with Cerberus. They still have any unused ability they had as part of their role.

The team member moved through the shadows and studied their intended destination. It looked as though no one was at home. Time to look for clues as to the agent’s plans going forward but it wasn’t easy and time was of the essence. First it took longer than anticipated to find a way in. Then trying to hack into software or break into files spent more valuable time. Always with one ear open for discovery. Finally, they found something useful but also felt a wave of panic that they might not be able to act on it in time. Carefully retreating to a safe distance, they signalled Shepard. “They’re going after Liara again but I don’t know where she is.”
“Leave it with me,” he replied before opening his private channel to Liara. “Liara, they know where you are. You need to get out now.” No response. “Liara?”
Shepard set off at a run for the secret location, following the tracer he had on Liara, hoping that the lack of response was not a bad sign. After all, she had been depressed about what happened to Javik and had been unwilling to talk earlier in the night. As he homed in on the tracer he realised the optimism had been misplaced. Once again he found an open door and this time it was the real Liara staring vacantly into the distance. He was too late.
“Damn it.”The eliminated player is: Fylimar - Liara DAY 2 IS DECLARED
