There are two roles in this game - by game rules - that cannot be recruited by villains and are cannot be rolled as evil, Jack and Liara.

All others roles can be both good or evil. Ex: Miranda can be evil and Miranda can be good. So, if someone is claiming Miranda, you don't know whether to trust that claim because she can be evil - you're just getting the name of her role. If someone is saying, for example, 'I'm Liara' than there is no possibility that Liara is evil, and you are getting their alignment, which is good. Voting such person off is a bad idea.

sgtreed24 If you switch your vote away from me to anyone else than I'll stop trying to kill you. I'm only doing it in self-defense because if I go after anyone else other than you or romice, who have votes on me, chances are they'll switch to me, which will not only tie me but put me in voting lead with 3 votes. So, I have to try to persuade others to vote you or romice because you guys aren't removing your votes from me.

And if people ask me to activate my role for the good of the team to prove who I am, I'd be screwed because I wouldn't be able to since it wouldn't be my role.

From my point of view I could add you to that list. any of those roles can be evil except Jack and Liara. Si just because someone claims a role doesn't mean they are good. Some roles would prefer to stay hidden so the spies don't target them.

Not if you vote against the person who has already voted for you. They can't give you another +1 if they already got a vote on you.
