So, long story short: All my stuff is on Xbox, but I'm not anymore. I actually do own the trilogy on PC as well, but never played MP there. Is there any point in me picking it back up, considering I'd be starting over from bronze both because of the lack of gear and characters, and because I haven't played in years and was only ever decent at the game in the first place.
Are there still lobbies for pugging on pc at all, and preferably not mainly gold and Platinum?

Rainmakers and Space Wizards can help you with your manifest and on the PC there are lobbies of all types.

Grinding to unlock the stuff was sort of fun, but I was never motivated to do it again just because of the amount of time that it took.

Sorry you left xbox, player base there is still alive somewhat. As for starting over...Nobody on PC does that.

I kinda get the feeling there are "ways" to get stuff on pc that involves not playing another 800 hours... Ways we'd surely not mention in public.

I totally recommend a re-start, if you are up for it. I am maxed on xbox and I had been for quite sometime...then came along a chance to start fresh on the PS3 and you know what...It really has made the game fun again. Imagine starting with nothing but you maintain all of the knowledge you have gained while building up your other manifest. Sure, it is another grind..but trust me..it really breathes some fresh life into the game...and if you are switching platforms...you will also have fun playing the same game you love with a different interface.

Yes. There are always lobbies to find. If you do not feel like starting again, you can always have "assistance". Don't listen to this cheating penguin. Yes, start fresh and see how it feels to play from scratch with the knowledge you already know about the game. I did and I am having so much more fun than I did / do with having a maxed manifest on another platform. Back into tha sea with ye' ya cheating penguin.

I picked up a 360 second hand half to play with more forum people, and half to start from scratch. Also started a psn alt just for that too. Great fun. There isn't the pressure to max the manifest as been there done that, and every gold upgrade feels like xmas. Plus if you pug its a nice feeling to do well pewpewing with a shuriken III or something

I crossed over from 360 to PS3 due to wanting to play the single player campaign again. I had also shelved my 360 since most of my games were on PS3 and PS4. It was fun to start over and unlock some classes. My experience from 360 made it a bit easier to start over and win over some new friends as well.

And if you don't want to PUG, you can check out the MECoOp Subreddit and join our Discord server.

Player base is pretty active on PC, if you do a quick match you'll usually find a game within a few seconds no matter the difficulty.
I just recently convinced someone to try out ME3MP and he's really into it now, even though he only has a handful of uncommon weapons unlocked and zero gear. Unlocking stuff still motivates me, too - so go for it!
Of course you could "modify" certain aspects of the game to speed up the process, but I personally will votekick people or leave lobbies if I see someone with N7 20 and CP 120 running around with a Black-Widow X. Just goes against the spirit of the game as far as I am concerned...but that's just my personal opinion of course.

Do you have fun grinding another minimum 600 hours for a maxed manifest? Go ahead, the game is still alive. Do you want to speed up the process? Please do, there's no support, so no banhammer. Cheat engine, console commands or playing a match on certain modded lobbies will help you. Some people care, most of us don't.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. Looks like my primary concern of finding a dead game are at least put to bed. I'll try starting clean and see where it takes me. Expecting to play super casually anyway, and if I want to have all the shinies once in a while, I can always reconnect the 360 and buy a month of Live, I suppose.

Im in the same boat tbh. Played it a hell of a lot on the xbox a few years ago and I have just got it on the PC also (part of EA access) I have started from scratch last week and tbh its really fun. I do miss having my old characters open though. It sucks being stuck doing mostly silver missions but hopefully it will open up if I get a decent character or weapon soon As far as playing I haven't had any issues finding matches on any of the difficulties. Seen a few names once or twice but most of the time it's random groups

I'd say you're maybe being a little harsh at this stage of the game's life - spare a thought for any ascending console scrubs who've already had to grind out manifests by legitimate means. I know if I ever make the leap, hacking my manifest will feel like some kind of payback for the frankly ridiculous 1690 hours it took on PS3.

Starting from scratch was fun at first, but then after probably 15-20 hours I basically realized how much of a grind it really is, said fuck it, and hacked my alt account manifest. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I restarted from 360 to PC years ago. Still don't have either manifest maxxed yet. On 360 I'm close to being a 1% er..on PC I'm in the ghetto.
I personally like all of my upgraded weapons and stockpiles of equipment lol.Im already scrubby as it is! No need to intensely it using a Mantis I on silver on PC lol.
YMMV.

I see lots of new folks on PC, playing Silver. Some are obviously starting over ... too good for the level of experience their profile would indicate. Played with a young woman from South Africa the other night, pretty sure she was a refugee from another platform ... if not, she was preternaturally talented.
But most are just new to the game. Some talk, most don't. It's never a problem finding a lobby ... though I don't pug Platinum or much Gold, mainly Silver, so maybe those public lobbies are harder to fill.
Also see a few from back in the day, who stopped playing and have now come back. It's always fun to see "old timers" getting their game on.
