I think some of the npcs were better than the cast we got so I would bring in:
Reyes
Raika
Asari Pathfinder
Turian Pathfinder
Evfra
Doctor Harry- not for being better than Lexi but because I can't find anyone else to replace her with.
Dump:
Drack- He's an okay character but he's a discount Wrex. And I'm sick of the Krogan whining and worship.
Cora- Boring
Liam- Boring and annoying
Vetra- sick of hearing about her sister
Jaal- Boring
Peebee- sick of her archetype
Lexi- nothing is really wrong with her but I just got sick of looking at her since her face model is in every Asari in the game.
Suvi- Boring and forgettable. I would replace her with SAM.
I would make Gil the Rem tech guy since he seems interested in using every advantage to survive. It would have been nice if he started upgrading the ship with Rem tech which could have been a better reason for the clash between him and Kallo.

It would have been nice if he started upgrading the ship with Rem tech which could have been a better reason for the clash between him and Kallo. This seems like exactly how to proceed with MEA2. Gil starts upgrading the ship with RemTech. I don't know that I'd put him in the field, though. |

I would make all characters less of a 1 note/trait characters. for example, Cora with her obsesssion with the Asari Commando, I would tone it down with her obsession while balancing it out with Alliance military knowledge. Application of both in her role as Second in Command with dealing with Kett and all enemies and adapting the Alliance and Asari Commando training and tactics to improve overall effectiveness of Ryder and the squad. I would play up the biotic angle too.

I'd like it if they made Lexi an explicitly non-sexual love interest. We haven't had a romance like that in Mass Effect yet, the closest being either ambiguous(Kelly, Suvi) or optional(Cora), and with how asari are that would be a really interesting story.

I would play up the biotic angle too. Yes, but this is already done with Cora. I mean, she had to face that her hero wasn't as perfect as she thought. By the end of MEA, she's already over her asari obsession. That leaves her with no other direction than to move forward as a character. It's the direction they have to take the character regardless. I felt like a lot of the squadmates had to learn lessons. This was part of them being generally young and unseasoned. It's one reason why I think they would fare better in a sequel since they got all their seasoning in the first game. |
