Does it count as bumping into them if they ninja join your solo?

If so, I "bumped" into Burning Cherry. I was just minding my own business, plodding away at the waves challenges in Silver solos, when along came Burning Cherry. They were probably not expecting to drop into a modded match, but they stayed, and even carried me in a pair of really tough Gold Duos.

For those of you (most of you), who haven't played my mods, both of them increase the pressure applied on the player. Thankfully, this one wasn't the one with twelve active enemies and increased speed primes/ravagers/pyros. No, this was the one with 500% (maybe a little more) speed Abombs (who feature heavily, with almost guaranteed possession chance), with increased explosion range, while mixing the factions for a sort of "mini-platinum" experience, focused on units such as Collector Captains, and Geth Pyros.

So, first match, was Unknown/Reapers and unfortunately, we rolled Original Glacier. This was not such a great combo, the navpoints on the Original version act a bit screwy where Banshees are concerned, and the map feels REALLY small with those sprinting, increased explosion range Abombs. Hell, the match was tough enough, I didn't even try to abomb them once, not even on Extraction (which features nothing but abombs). The really surprising bit was that I never once got grabbed, and there's quite a few units who grab on my Reapers. My comrade did especially well, considering a Black Widow on Glacier, with all that many abombs and dragoons. My Vorcha Hunter was less impressive, but I love my submission net on this mod, saves lives, and frustration.

If rolling Original Glacier was "unfortunate" in the first match, RNGesus was having a seriously bad day, like, "his GF just banged his worst enemy" bad day. After setting it to Cerberus, a "lovely" little set including triple banshee + two phantom + two dragoons + hunter on extraction, we rolled Condor. I, personally, did not have high hopes for my survival, but I had a trusty Batarian Sentinel. I felt like poor Burning Cherry's Fury was attracting all the Pyros (which are in most waves of that set, I think). For me, I felt like I was contributing even less in this match than the Reaper one, I'm more comfortable with the Hunter than the Batarian Sentinel. Sometimes, I felt like there were possessed Scions everywhere on the map, and Engineer bastards putting up turrets every time you turned your back on them. Unfortunately, Burning Cherry did not extract from this one. And I almost didn't make it out either, that extraction composition is decidedly painful if a dragoon or phantom manages to stagger you (or down you), it's a very tense moment of can you get up, and get away, without being grabbed, or stunlocked.

My reward for this? A Venom III. The manifest progresses. If you see this, thanks again for helping me out, Burning Cherry

I know somewhere you can find plenty of abombs, I keep a stash of them on Reactor Hazard, just for games with BSNers. I can show you sometime, I'm always happy to find a new ginuea pig comrade.

I think the last time we were in Rio (a long time ago, possibly on PS3) it was a Collectors clusterfuck, but the Geth ran them close last night. Bastards. 

We got trolled pretty badly by the RNG - only one genuinely easy combo - White/Reapers, with Hydra/Collectors, Condor/Cerberus and Rio/Geth following my supposed curry on Vancouver. I guess we should acknowledge the Warlord who saved us on W9. That could have been embarrassing!

Great running into you, and being able to rattle through 5 games without needing a reboot. And a Javelin VIII with the credits. 

(Edit: Just remembered that the Hydra/Collectors game was with slojack, immediately before I ran into you)

I missed one prime with three missiles.  The primes had  it in for me that game and I was shooting like a dope with the crusader.   

Ran into paunchycyclops while slightly the worse for wear earlier. Dagger, possibly Collectors. Mighta been Geth. It's all a bit of a blur, as I'd been playing some Plat too. One more TGI extraction required for Retaliation.
