I've got another one for you lol what if Lavellan is one of the sacrifices? He kisses her passionately and then she makes a gasping sound and falls lifelessly to the floor, then in disbelief at what he did, Solas becomes the demon he feared being and the new DA4 hero has to fight him! Whether he and Lavellan live or not will be based on choices from DAI and DA4 lol  ---------------- Edit : LOL I didn't expect it to actually be so relevant to the fandom so I made an emoticon out of it if anyone is in need here it is |

I think I made a post pointing out something similar way back, so I'm glad people independently have come to the same conclusion.  Fenris' power negates magic to a certain degree, so my guess was that the Evanuris used them as very efficient guards (as everyone being mages would give them an edge against... well, everyone). I don't think the memory loss actually was a part of the ritual though; if you give Fenris back to Danarius he will send you a letter telling you that Fenris was once again acting like his slave and that his memory has been erased. So my guess is that either Fenris simply assumed the ritual stripped him of his memory, or Danarius lied (my money is on the latter). This would also explain why the Evanuris seem to have mined the Titans so thoroughly. Doesn't he say that after making love to Hawke he started to get his memory back? Call me a cat, but I'm curious. okay.. it's terrible to me because it really squicks me out kinda. so the idea is about dragonsblood right? dragons are unusually resistant to the taint and can stem its spread within their own bodies by growing cysts around blighted flesh. though they cannot do this indefinitely, this is super notable. imo btw this "indefinite" thing refers to high dragons (most common 'powerful' dragon in the setting). great dragons are more powerful and more ancient [see why i mention this in a second]. there's all that hoo-hah about the power in the theirin bloodline. qunari belief is that calenhad theirin drank the blood of a great dragon, gaining strength that made him undefeatable. some of that power was passed on in the bloodline (Flemeth's request of Maric shows the line still has power in the blood). a great dragon's blood, not a high dragon's. is the theirin bloodline therefore resistant to the taint? merril also purified a mirror with blood magic, and didnt avernus extend his life through blood magic? we got blood power against the taint all up in here. fiona was pregnant with a child of the bloodline. biologically a mother and her fetus's bloodstreams interact in pregnacy don't they? consider how warden alistair in inquisition isn't off in search of a cure for the calling the way a romanced surviving HoF is. sure, he doesn't know he's resistant to the corruption, consciously, and any cure the HoF finds she'd surely share with her beloved, and he's occupied/distracted by the Corypheus thing, and he can hear the song like all wardens can at that time, but.. I dunno. she's off trying to cure herself of her taint and he seems .. subconsciously less worried. cause he's resistant. theirin bloodline in fiona's pregnancy cured her. maric's magic spunk. So the solution to curing the Blight is to have Alistair knock up female Grey Wardens ? |

Hello again Blanketfort! I am definitely not caught up on my DA lore and theories, but I had a question tangentially related to Solas and you were already talking about it so I figured I would ask because why not right? So, with Flemythal's death (or whatever that power absorption thing was Solas did), could the original Mythal return? I suppose I'm running on the assumption that the Mythal in Flemeth is dead, or at the very least gone. Was that the last of her? We know she could splice her soul into that locket she gave Hawke, and she also wanted to give her godly powers to Morrigan. Since there was no definite blood or ceremonial closing of the eyes bit (that I remember), there's a possibility she can return, I hope. I always liked Mythal--there's something about her being the mother figure of the pantheon as well as being the administrator of justice/vengeance that I love. And if she returns, Mythal would probably return as she was before everything happened. Which leads me to wonder what the other Dalish gods look like, which makes me excited for DA4, where there's a chance they will appear, which makes me both excited and nervous to see Solas again... it's a vicious cycle Sorry if this makes zero sense, and was really disconnected, but I felt like asking! |

As I understand it, when Mythal was murdered it's not that she "went away" its that she was reduced to a wisp of a being. That wisp eventually found and merged with Flemeth probably due to the whole betrayal/desire for vengeance thing they both had going on. It's theorized that Solas simply absorbed Flemythal's power and that the wisp that was Mythal was able to go to another host. These theories are due to dev notes regarding that scene at the end of the base game. Things can change with game development however so we're not sure if those notes still accurately reflect what's going on. It's entirely possible Mythal will find a new host, possibly Morrigan as the dev notes suggested. Or maybe Mythal is gone for good. Personally, I believe Flemeth herself is gone for good. Mythal on the other hand is still in question. |

Whether he and Lavellan live or not will be based on choices from DAI and DA4 lol To be honest, I figure that there'll some revelation like Solas had to drop the Veil because the Evanuris are on the verge of breaking out on their own or something that'd vindicate him in some way. He'll either die at their hands in order to take them down or he'll go along with an alternative route the protagonist can discover. Then one of the endings will be Solas and Lavellan walking off in the Fade together holding hands where dreamers might on occasion swear they saw a couple off in the distance. That'd be an awesome tribute to Neil Gaiman's story about the Fox and the Buddhist monk! That's my guess on how it could end for Solavellans! |

I really hope that the decisions you make in DA4 will influence whether you fight Solas or talk him down. I can imagine how Weekes will guilt trip us over each and every one to make us feel horrible, but I do hope that saving him doesn't require you to do something clearly horrible and unethical. Mythal on the other hand is still in question. I believe Flemeth is gone as well. As for Mythal... if she is now a wisp and looking for a new host, I certainly hope it will not be Morrigan. I would rather see her return to the Fade or maybe even be killed for good... After all Flemeth herself said in DA2 that: "Without an end there can be no peace." and it also reminds me of Hakkon who was bound to a form of dragon and only knew how to kill (like the old gods when they awoke as tainted archdemons). Thane Svarah Sun-Hair said that Hakkon 'needs a good rebirthing.' Spirit of Mythal was likely twisted by Flemeth's anger and lust for vengeance (like how Justice became Vengeance when he merged with Anders). When Inquisitor asks her why Mythal came to her Flemeth says: "For a reckoning that will shake the very heavens."There's a theory that Solas now has Mythals soul (and her powers like the power over who ever drank from the Well of Sorrows). That may or may not be accurate, but that still leaves the question of what happened to the Old God soul she took from Kieran? Was that what she was sending through the Eluvian before Solas found her? Or something else? |

It couldn't have been the old god soul from Kieran in my game since Kieran doesn't exist. Had to be something else. Assuming she sent anything through and wasn't just making the mirror surface ripple to show the viewers that the mirror was active. Where did that mirror lead is a more important question to me.
