Since I've argued otherwise, I feel it should be appropriate I re-posted it here. I was wrong in this case, though I admit that for me literally going to Haven is a bizarre, and unnecessary, choice. But it is what it is. Not to reignite this heated discussion, but in terms of combating Solas, it's actually an inspired choice. No-one would suspect that the (former) Inquisition would set up shop under the ruins of Haven. Anyone who might witness them being there would easily assume that they're visiting to pay respects or pilgrimage. The location is still a holy site and may contain a memorial to those who died at the Conclave and during the attack (from the optional war table mission). And as a the site of a major defeat, it'd be the last place you'd expect for the Inquisition (remnants) to want to return to and make their secret HQ. The Breach also drove all Spirits from the vicinity of Haven and even after it was sealed, it's doubtful they'd want to return out of fear or from the severe damage to the Veil making it unpleasant to linger there. That makes Haven an effective blindspot to run counter-intelligence from, as Solas can't use any Spiritual observers to listen in and gather information. Of course, that wouldn't stop him from entering dreams, but that's why Dwarves could be very useful as they don't dream at all, blocking another avenue for him to listen in via. (Although we have seen Dwarves capable of entering the Fade on rare occasions. Marathari was able to send Varric into the Fade and she wasn't even a Dreamer, so an experienced one like Solas may easily be able to force Dwarves into the Fade, negating this potential advantage entirely). ---- But to the topic of weird character models... yeah, whatever happened to age Teagan and Justinia so much in ten years? (Going by TME, I'd guess that the answer is likely "dealing with Orlesians". Maker knows dealing with them on a regular basis would age anyone!)

And as a the site of a major defeat, it'd be the last place you'd expect for the Inquisition (remnants) to want to return to and make their secret HQ. If there's one person who'd suspect Inquisitor setting up shop under Haven, it'd be Solas Specifically because of this: He literally says to Inky that Haven will always be important to them. And that's after puzzled Inky asked him why they're there! Spirits are attracted to living people (aside from Dwarves). If there's life near Haven, they'd return, making it fairly obvious someone is there - especially that we've seen Cole right after Breach was sealed and he didn't seem distressed; in fact he seemed happy it's over. Also - Haven was noted to having no infrastructure to hold even small contingent of forces when it was still intact. It will be less viable after all that's left from it is a small, underground location. Honestly, the only way Haven works as a meeting place it's if it was a dare. Needless to say, I don't assume we'd have our main base of operation anywhere close to Skyhold, and that includes Haven. Wouldn't be surprised if shadow Inqusition opted for something mobile. Would be pretty cool if they used some sort of hacked eluvians (or those constructed by Dorian?) and settle in some sort of lost pocket dimension or something Weekes mentioned something about 'new engines being hard' when someone complained how Teagan has changed. I think he may mean that it wasn't that easy to render people who were at specific age, perhaps? Ageing, but not old? Well, it could be that. But, aside form dealing with Orlesians, I think it's fair to say that some people just don't age as well as others

I don't know. Sometimes the best place to hide is right under your "enemy's" nose. Just ask Solas.

I don't know. Sometimes the best place to hide is right under your "enemy's" nose. Just ask Solas. Yea, but the cat's out of the bag. It worked for him, because we had no idea who he really was. It's open conflict/cat-and-mouse chase now. Hilariously, Leliana even makes it a point on the meeting to mention how much Solas knows about them (including that Haven will always be important for Inquisitor...). And - to top it all off - Inquisitor's very first suggestion to counter this knowledge is 'to find people he doesn't know'... in Tevinter! So they sort of set up their base, seemingly 'under the nose of the enemy'... only to immediately decide that they need to move far away and search for people Solas is unfamiliar with This is exactly why I don't think Haven as a base is happening. They have their big symbolic moment to kick off the chase and then they'll likely move somewhere else.

I think Haven is merely a convenient jumping off point for formulating a strategy to defeat Solas. The remaining Inner Circle all know how to get there; they make plans for their first move (to find people he doesn't know) and go from there.

Regroup and move out.

I think someone mentioned this cool piece of trivia about Solas in this thread several months ago... (Not the jaw bone thing, but what Matt Rhodes mentions not long after talking about the jaw bone. Awoooooooooo!) ETA: Fast forward to 30:37 for some DA4(?) hype.

It might have been a bit of an overkill though, considering that we may not be hearing wolves howling... but there are still wolves nearly EVERYWHERE.

As a person with a background in biology, this sort of thing is one of my biggest pet peeves about video games, yeah. Wildlife is generally not, in fact, out to get you! So all the bears and wolves that just automatically attack really bother me. I was so glad when I got the Packmaster amulet. My Inquisitor wore the shit out of that thing. I wish there had been a bear one, too. The only fennecs and halla I killed accidentally got caught in one of the mages' area-effect spells. And the only rams I killed were the ones I had to kill for food to feed the refugees at the Crossroads. My Inquisitor stopped trying to kill dragons after Morrigan lamented their passing at the Temple of Mythal, too.

Usually by the time I actually talk to Morrigan at the Temple of Mythal all of the dragons are already dead. If they didn't want to die they shouldn't drop loot! I do save that dragon in Trespasser though.

I admit that I'm too much of a completionist not to kill all dragons I sort of justify it with their location and circumstances. Mostly it's about them being way too close to settlements or strategic places or, like Abbysal High Dragon, there's a plan to capture them and make another 'Archdemon' pet for Cory.

Just finished a replay of DAI but with a non-Solas romance character. Still friend though cause it's really hard not to be his friend when he's in your party most of the time and you constantly help people out and choose to have Cole be a spirit and all that. This replay did not help my impatience for DA4 news. Made it worse actually. ><
