Bunny Noldo - I think most of the players (there was results of researching save game word states and in 40% cases people engaged in romance in bioware games) playing as Inqy had a romance and making new romances for Inqy would be a waste of resources. The best option is only mentioning them (Leliana and Morrigan style). And do not forget that Bioware wants to allure new people to their land of feels. Playing as character from another game would only estrange the new fans. For example I can't imagine playing Mass Effect 3 without playing previous titles. In any case new protagonist is a must, and whether Inquisitor will return is only optional for creators (I NEED CLOSURE, DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT BIOWARE!!!!!) But that's the point, at the beggining of the game you could choose to play as Inquisitor or as a new character. You wouldn't have to play as Inquisitor if you didn't feel like it, because you are for example new to the franchise. I think I didn't explain it properly I was thinking, you could have the same story (for example build new organisation, infiltrate Solas' forces, stop Solas), wether your character would be Inqy or completely new. The new character and unromanced Inqy could have new romances, romanced Inqy could continue romaces or just have them mentioned. Something like that. Would require hiring a lot of voice actors though. Not that I would mind, and I do really hope that they have the budget for it Edit: Nevermind me, just saw the VA-comments before my reply. Sorry for the repetition^^

lilyenachaos - Of course the destruction of Elvhenan was unforeseen. Solas was freedom fighter, using freed slaves lives, even if they would have given their lives willingly, would be abuse of power even he would recognize. He states, for numerous times that all organizations are corrupt and only individuals can deal with power. He wouldn't be so sure if he would commit act so similar to what Evanuris would do. Of course we know that he mercilessly killed Felassan, and he himself says that he bloodied his hands during his struggle. If him sacrificing his own people in ritual to create the veil would ever be made canonically, he would come out as the greatest hypocrite in Thedas history (well he is close, but I still have sentiment for him ).

I think he'd have been able to justify it to himself, but of course all of this is assuming that he sacrificed people in the spell, which might not have happened. I just hope that in DA4 we are able to find out more about why/how everything happened and why he feels the need to do what he's doing now. Restoring his people? There has got to be more to it than that.

Saw this and knew I had to share it with y'all. It certainly sounds yummy! Oohhh *claps* I love blue Curacao Yeah, I have nothing to add to this discussion. I have cynical doubt they'll truly implement a proper dual protagonist system a la Ciri & Geralt for DA4, which is what I want. What I also want is a double or triple agent who is working for Fen'Harel and the Inquisition and whoever else. But I have no idea what they will do. Being so adrift, I've instead turned to living out fantasies with a modern au Solas in Sims 4 for the meantime.

Oh shit, this hurts... Dorians so tender and now I wanna cry b/c everything hurts... I mean, who held Solas Lavellan in their arms when they took care of her arm? She was all alone, just like on the balcony. My poor Lavellan... Honestly, in my headcanon? Dorian, still. Though pretty much everyone who could bear to be in the room was there, looking on. But, like, Dorian and Cassandra would be the ones right there, with Bull right nearby. Oh, and Cole, of course. For my Lavellan, anyway.

There has got to be more to it than that. As I said this would really damage him in my eyes (well he intends to sacrifice WHOLE modern Thedas, but who cares). I think now we can assume that he intends to bring the Veil down and merge it with real world, and he believes that it will have grave consequences for modern thedosians. I know that it's unpopular opinion, but I want to see the Thedas without a Veil in DA4, but without Solas killing most of the people. The spirits want to enter the waking world which causes possessions of mages, which is the reason why they are feared and which led to constraining them by the chantry. The mortality of people itself says that they are something less than before the veil. Realistically if they could only pull this out by making Veil down in all world states or making DA4 the last game of the series (which is highly improbable). Maybe if solas will see wrong in his doing someone will do the deed? Just imagine - we are in the 3rd act of the story, we successfully managed to snap Solas from his genocidal plans and then Morrigan appears, speaking in Flemythal voice, that time for her retconning has arrived and then she (somehow) breaks the veil and the havoc is all the land.

I feel like none of the companions had true motivations or substantive side quests in DA:I like they did in DA2 (except Solas ofc). So I felt like Dorian didn't get enough content in Inquisition. However I'm really excited because there is so much potential for him in DA4.

However I'm really excited because there is so much potential for him in DA4. To be honest I never bonded with DA2 companions, except for Varric and Aveline. And I don't even hate the controversial ones. Anders and Fenris were so indifferent to me that I haven't killed the first one only because I needed healer in party and when it came to kill the later all I felt was meh. It's unpopular opinion but Inquisition has the best companions of all DA. Love or hate them, but they are all strongly written and have clear motivations. But I agree with you they missed potential in their side quests (well they missed potential of side quests in all DAI because all of that content is utterly mediocre). Even the good ones. The main issue is that we get to know the companions mostly by party banter and it's most often broken (I'm so glad that I'm on PC and can have banter trigger). I regret that I don't have any Sims games... The all happy ending headcoanons that could happen.

I'm confident they're working on it, but with Andromeda and the new IP, not to mention that they seem to now be taking the Bethesda approach to new releases...it feels like news is so far away. Gah.

I finally have opportunity to speak my mind on blanketfort, yet those are the same topics that were discussed to the bottom earlier. But I wouldn't count on the new news either. i\Bioware is strangely silent about Andromeda and the release date is being pushed more and more further (I swear thay in last year I heard that it would possibly come out on 2016 fall and now we are talking about 2017 spring) and do not forget about the mysterious new IP. The book with possibly flaming wolf head on the tower with surprisingly Dragon agey font was nice, but I fear that's all for now. I suppose we won't have any news till summer 2017 or even later. Elessara I loved Sims 3 but I wasn't excited at Sims 4 at all when it was announced that it's cartoony graphic wasn't a joke (I mean really that was the least everyone expected). And I gave my Sims 3 + all expansions to my younger cousin. Now I want to play so bad!

Oh, I wasn't indicating that other people shouldn't speculate or talk about DA4, please do! It was mostly a comment on my lack of participation in the discussion. Normally I would have jumped right in with thoughts and opinions. Sorry, I should have made myself more clear. =\ And yeah I'm not counting on news I just *want* it lol. But it IS odd the way BioWare is so quiet about Andromeda. I just haven't been able to get hyped at all because there has been so little information given. The pushback doesn't worry me overmuch other than it may impact when they'll start talking about the next DA game. The new IP? Zero information kind of means zero interest on my part ... other than, again, how it may impact the release of news/information on the next DA game. Longer development times don't bother me a whole lot either I just hope they don't go overboard and actually adopt a release schedule like Betheseda. DA2 was released way too soon. DAI did receive another year which was only for the better in my opinion but at least then we had NEWS. By the time the year push back was released we already knew things about the game. The almost complete silence is a killer. I mean, I hear crickets and I'm starting to really dislike them now.

And I gave my Sims 3 + all expansions to my younger cousin. Now I want to play so bad! I don't wanna derail the thread but I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN I thought Sims 4 was a huge downgrade from Sims 3! No open world, limited building levels and the personalities aren't fine-tuned but rather based on traits and aspirations! The only reason I got Sims 4 was because my Sims 3 disc was packed up in a bunch of moving boxes and I didn't want to unpack them so I just clicked that orange button on Origin just to scratch the itch...anyways, I started to realize a while into playing that the multi-tasking and increased emotional complexity in Sims 4 makes up for the absence of some of the other stuff. It feels a bit more fluid and realistic, interactions-wise. Once your eyes adapt to the art style, it isn't "cartoony" anymore. Anyone else feel like the art style of the wolf head on the tower was a bit minimalistic? Or...I don't know how to describe it. It's....not ornate? Like fantasy? I feel like the accompanying art for Origins would've been more ornate.

I see a lot of dev tweets about how they're playing distributed copies of Andromeda all the time (it seems like they're all playing around with finished copies). So I have no doubt Andromeda will come out in the spring... Their PR and community department is just plain a.w.f.u.l.

There is no way that Andromeda is finished product now. If you look closely at tester list from DAI end titles you will notice that some of surnames were mentioned earlier on different position and in the video where PW discusses creating feels he kind of confirms that Bioware employees are most often testers too. I can assure you that there won't be ANY information on the next game until Andromeda is published. We has so many informations on Inquisition because it was the sole project of Bioware at the time and we could see gameplay of seemingly finished segment even before the extra year. It's indeed very strange that we didn't see any Andromeda gameplay yet. And the lack of news is always a sign of trouble. Addictress - I gave a try for Sims 4 demo and the multitasking was great so was the CC. But the lack of create a style tool was deal breaker for me (and that Sims 4 price is strangely high in my country, even after 2 years) as were set in stone neighbourhoods. I had the whole custom high fantasty area where lived only elf-wizards, all created by me. In this case Sims 4 felt too much like 2,5 even 1,5.

I see a lot of dev tweets about how they're playing distributed copies of Andromeda all the time (it seems like they're all playing around with finished copies). So I have no doubt Andromeda will come out in the spring... Their PR and community department is just plain a.w.f.u.l. It's just weird because I'm positive we had way more information about DAI 6-7 months before release. Well, obviously we did once they pushed it back a year but still. At any rate, you've just about sold me on Sims 4. The only sims game I've ever played was Sims Medieval.

On the cinematography of the kiss scene in trespasser when I tried it I was amused as my inquisitors massive armor shoulder pauldrons obscured most of her face. About that trespasser kiss - it just kills me how tender and gentle Solas is with Lavellan - you can see it best in this flycam videoThe 'other guy' was John Epler, the man responsible for Solas cutscene animations. He deserves at least as much praise as Weekes for bringing Solas to life. (I'm still amazed by how expressive Solas, a person made of pixels, can be). You are right, the animation team also did a great job on Solas. It all came together so well: writing, animation, voice, music Changing the topic a bit, I was wondering, do you know any music similar to The Dread Wolf / Lost Elf Theme? It's one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard And combined with Solas' story, it just pure magic.. I love the version with the piano, as well as the Trespasser one. The only piece of music that I know that is so similar to it is The Wuthering Heights soundtrack by Ryuichi Sakamoto. Maybe you know some similar music? That Trespasser BWOWN-sound (what's the sound really called though?) is pure gold. Makes the hair on my arms stand on edge every.single.time ^^ I just stop everything I'm doing and let the feeling of heartbreak and angst wash over me ;P I also love that sound. I wish I knew what's it really called.. My husband says that he's herd something similar in another soundtrack, but he can't remember which. But that's the point, at the beggining of the game you could choose to play as Inquisitor or as a new character. Sorry for the repetition^^ Yes, it could be pricey, but on the other hand, it would also sould shut fans up I saw a poll somewhere where about 50% of people wanted to play as Inquisitor in DA4, and the other half wanted to play as a new character. Sp maybe that would be the way to make everyone happy, I dunno. As for the long wait for DA4, there is also a good thing to it: the writers will have enough time to think everything through and create great story, characters and dialogue. A bit like with 'Sherlock' - you wait for years for a new episode but finally it's worth it. *team optimism*

I was reading that collection of missing Solas dialogue and was interesting to see the one with Morrigan when he says that Mythal was a goddess of vengeance, not simply justice. This would seem born out by her codex in the Temple of Mythal. What is interesting though is that it means that Flemeth didn't twist Mythal into a spirit of vengeance because she was that already. However, if elves looked to her for vengeance, then what did they look to Elgar'nan for? May be it was just her own followers she enacted vengeance for but as I understood it, anyone could petitioner her.
