I don't know if I'm mixing things up. For some reason right now I've been thinking the Evanuris are the old gods/archdemons but I can't remember for the life of me if that was ever mentioned? I am thinking those orbs have to do with the old gods for sure though, even if the Evanuris have nothing to do with them. The Evanuris are likely not the Old Gods, the numbers and associated attributes don't add up (which could have changed over time, but still). They were already locked up by Solas by the time the Tevinter magisters corrupted them. Unless the Golden/Black City is the place in the Fade where they were held in the first place and the magisters got there anyway... hmm. So far I thought Solas created the veil to stop the Evanuris from whatever they were planing (something with the titans?), so tearing it down would bring them back into the game, even if that is not his actual goal.
I don't think we have any actual reason to think the old godswere sealed by Solas, yet, either. We just know he hated the idea of killing them before they became arch demons. For some reason.

Wouldn't it be cool to have an Arlathvhen featured in DA4, showing how each clan responded to the revelations in Inquisition.
Whether the true history of Red Crossing and Inquisitor Ameridan was shared or suppressed, whether the Inquisitor drank from the Well or not, whether the Inquisitor was an Elf, as well as if they told anyone about meeting Mythal and Fen'Harel, the Evanuris being False Gods and the origin of Vallaslin as slave markings?
It'd be very cool to have something like that play out as a Landsmeet-type scenario. Have our new protagonist (either as an agent of the Inquisition or representing an independent faction) try to convince the Dalish clans to support them, rather than an Agent of Fen'Harel that's there trying to recruit the Dalish instead?

oh also rip Solas' sanity.It does make me wonder whether Solas may disappear behind the mask of the Dread Wolf, now that the time for playing the part of the polite, sexy, fade-nerd is over.
And if we're playing as a new protagonist, one without the complicated relationship with him that our Inquisitor may have built up, what's to stop him from turning our new guy to stone on the spot, if we happen to get in his way?  |

Inky: "We'll save Solas from himself!". ... I'd say they telegraphed issues with identity/mask and fighting one's bad side (or something in that tune) to us pretty loud and clear. |

I'm on a work trip, so I don't have my WoT Vol. 1&2 handy, but I'll check it out this evening when I get home. The Evanuris and the Forgotten Ones were sealed by Fen'Harel long before the Tevinters started hearing whispers from the Old Gods, who taught them magic. I think the first ones who heard the Old Gods were Dreamers, so, considering that the Fade is likely where the Evanuris are locked up, and everyone goes to the Fade in their dreams (unless they're dwarves), I think it's possible that the Evanuris = the Old Gods. There are 7 Old Gods and 9 Evanuris. But 2 of the Evanuris are not locked up: Mythal and Fen'Harel. So the numbers still work out. Still want to double check my books when I get home though, so this isn't a certainty. |

I for one am in the camp of "I want my Inquisitor to be the one who confronts him at the end" but the statement is just ambiguous enough - like many of Solas' statements - that it can have multiple meanings. |
