There is no way that Andromeda is finished product now. If you look closely at tester list from DAI end titles you will notice that some of surnames were mentioned earlier on different position and in the video where PW discusses creating feels he kind of confirms that Bioware employees are most often testers too. I can assure you that there won't be ANY information on the next game until Andromeda is published. We has so many informations on Inquisition because it was the sole project of Bioware at the time and we could see gameplay of seemingly finished segment even before the extra year. It's indeed very strange that we didn't see any gameplay yet. And the lack of news is always sign of trouble. Addictress - I gave a try for Sims 4 demo and the multitasking was great so was the CC. But the lack of create a style tool was deal breaker for me (and that Sims 4 price is strangely high in my country, even after 2 years) as were set in stone neighbourhoods. I had the whole custom high fantasty area where lived only elf-wizards, all created by me. In this case Sims 4 felt too much like 2,5 even 1,5. Yeah. I understand. I probably forgot how superior Sims 3 since I haven't played it for 6 years and I was just too lazy to dig for it XD Andromeda definitely worries me....especially since that lead developer from ME2 said that the lack of info at EAPlay meant there were production issues. And people on the old BSN were arguing with me that his opinion didn't mean anything more than a layman's 9_9 um....no, I'm pretty sure a lead developer from a prior game in that very same company would have a better authority on how game production works than the average layperson on the BSN who isn't even in the industry.

Snippets from developers are like a free advertising and it helps to build hardcore fanbase with all the theorycrafting. The fact that the only info about Andromeda is that devs are supposedly playing it, is the clear message that they aren't doing well. Personally I never was a big fan of Mass Effect, probably because I got to play the trilogy way after the ME3 release.I think that Andromeda will suffer from big empty locations just like Inquisition, because when they started developing the trend of massive open world was still high. The Witcher 3 was revolutionary in that area, even if it's a poor RPG (man I hate the set protagonist) it was wonderful game and it set the story bar very high. Andromeda might not reach it and it most certainly be scorned for it. I really wish the best for this game.

It's indeed very strange that we didn't see any Andromeda gameplay yet. And the lack of news is always a sign of trouble. It isn't. Not anymore. Not after last year's E3 Fallout 4 announcement. A couple of Bioware devs (who now work on MEA) have made that pretty abundantly clear in their own podcast: Basically the last year's Fallout 4 announcement changed the way some of big companies announce and advertise their big titles - be very quiet during development time and then come out with the product a few months before release, together with intense advertisement campaign. We've actually seen BW embrace that marketing strategy for DA's DLCs, especially Trespasser. Lots of little hints, but big announcement made only a week before DLCs release. The good thing about it is that they don't really have to go out to the public with unfinished demos, like in DAI and later that bite them in the bum after realizing that the technical spec for the demo works fine on strong PCs but fried old gen consoles, hence cutting some of the systems and gameplay elements. The bad thing about this is that even after announcement we'd likely be kept long in the dark about details on DA4 :[

midnight tea I haven't considered it. But if what you said is true then they can't set their style of advertisement. We didn't even know that Bethesda was developing Fallout 4 and we know about Andromeda for like year (I don't remember exactly) and we were given so little, yet we already have two very vague trailers. If they want to pull out something like you said, they are doing it poorly because fans are getting more frustrated and have more and more doomsdayey theories (I look at myself). Ah man, I remember how I waited that whole week before the trespasser. It felt like the eternity. And when it was finally released there wasn't power in my village for the whole day...

I'm actually sort of glad there is hardly any info out for Andromeda. I'm excited for it now, if I actually knew more about the same it would make waiting worse. It's not coming out for months yet. The same could be said for DA4 I guess? Except in this case we don't even know if they are making one (they have to!) and that worries me a little.

That's why you guys need to join me in Sims 4. It looked banal at first, and cartoony, but it's actually great! It feels like an RPG nowdays, and you can have OC's and stuff. and then we could share screencaps and custom stories with our Solases *feels like a child playing alone with a dolly, entreating other children passing by* come play with me I do have a tumblr for my Dragon Age Sims, but I don't update it that often - Dawnstone Sims"This is Bob. He got stuck between the walls during refurbishment." I laughed. I was reading that collection of missing Solas dialogue and was interesting to see the one with Morrigan when he says that Mythal was a goddess of vengeance, not simply justice. This would seem born out by her codex in the Temple of Mythal. What is interesting though is that it means that Flemeth didn't twist Mythal into a spirit of vengeance because she was that already. However, if elves looked to her for vengeance, then what did they look to Elgar'nan for? May be it was just her own followers she enacted vengeance for but as I understood it, anyone could petitioner her. From the Wiki: Ancient elves would not call on Elgar'nan to deliver justice, for his fury would destroy all it touched. Elgar'nan agreed to Mythal's offer to dispense justice instead and bound all to abide by her verdicts. However on at least one occasion, when Mythal did not show favor to the sinner who dared to fly in the shape of the divine, she let Elgar'nan judge him instead.
Elgar'nan followers asked for his help in taming the land that shook their cities. They sought to defeat the usurpers who threw down their work. Elgar'nan appears to have lead ancient elves who drove the dwarves underground, although the details are obscure.Elgar'nan seems to have been a warrior more than a judge, so his 'vengeance' could've been more military, with Mythal being the more political (and reasonable) out of the two. I guess that if you were being judged by Elgar'nan, you were basically screwed and you'd know it too.

Ah man, I remember how I waited that whole week before the trespasser. It felt like the eternity. And when it was finally released there wasn't power in my village for the whole day... Doomsday theories have always been a part of the landscape. And nobody said that BW can't add their own flavor to the advertisement and they're very well known for their teasing and not-so-subtle trolling It's how they (t)roll. It'd also likely be a little different for DA than it is for MEA, given that MEA is an entirely new chapter in ME universe, so they can withhold more information to surprise us further after the release, rather than have their new story and universe picked apart or speculated to death about prior to release. But DA is an ongoing franchise. And not only the devs have revealed later that DA4 will either closely follow DA3 or will basically be a 2nd part of Inquisition, Trespasser very clearly set things up for the future. It's not a secret or anything, the devs don't even tiptoe around it. So we'd likely be given more scraps and things that would make people reel and then speculate (or remember that there's actually a story going on. Most players, in general, likely forgot the whole Cory and Dread Wolf thing already, so we'd see attempts to remind people what was going on in DAI), probably will see a list of announced LIs or locations, or whether we'd see Inquisitor or not and in what role... but likely won't be handed much more formation than that before the advert campaign starts in earnest. And yeah, I sort of expected the same to happen here (lose power or Internet right before release), but I was fortunate that it didn't happen.

I bet that they will have Trespasser as free gift on Origin when the real campaign for DA4 will begin. JUst imagine people who didn't play this DLC starting DA4. I kind of don't like how Bioware started to implement important story elements in their DLC. Trespasser was awesome but Arrival not so much.
I read some of earliest speculations of Solas and people already have theorized that he was an ancient elf and even Dread Wolf himself completely confirms what you said about picking everything apart. I wonder what the new IP is. Maybe that strategy game from DA universe? And if it's completely new id it fantasy or sci-fi? Maybe steam punk or something else entirely. I'm so curious!

Not for me. I mean this one isn't drastic, but personally, I prefer to keep non-player characters as the artists intended.

I like my Solas vanilla. I have seen mods making him dark skinned, looking like he just broke out of jail, so this is quite ok. I like what the author did with his eyebrows. Originally he has strange yellow mask on them, presumably to make them more lighter (Solas is blond, fite me!) it's poorly made and drives me mad. But as I said there is a reason behind Solas looking so nondescript and most of mods make him stand out. And erase his adorable freckles and that cannot be.

I saw one where he got this elaborate wardrobe and I was like, what the? Solas would never wear that. The nondescript hobo apostate is a major part of his identity...and his strategy. X) But hey, different strokes.

It's the only Solas mod I use. It's subtle and the new shadows around the eyes and slightly longer brows do interesting things to his face. It's not far away from original, but it's enhanced. I like it

Speaking of mods...not to derail too much, but does anyone know of hair mods that work with Trespasser? I found one that would be great for my Lavellan, but it isn't compatible, alas.

The only specific one I can think of right now is that SK Hair Re-texture has been updated for Trespasser. So at least you can have silky hair instead of choppy hair? www.nexusmods.com/dragonageinquisition/mods/704/?

From what I know it depends which original hairstyle the chosen hairstyle replaces. Some of the original hairstyles simply can't be replaced or overwritten.

I'd say that the whole migration was worth it for the magnificent OP post, but now I have to dig out my old profile pic somehow. And my computer's had a few deaths and resurrections since then. I think Bioware's new IP is supposed to be modern, as in 'telling contemporary stories'? Or was that for the cancelled multiplayer project? It'd be interesting to see them write something somewhat based in reality. And a little confusing for me. (I appreciate the new emoticons on this site.)

Even though I prefer Solas vanilla I actually don't mind this one because it's not drastic at all. The the mod author struck a nice balance between fresh and familiar, and even though I don't really use main character mods for bioware anymore, I do love mod authors. Kudos to them for doing something for free just for a strangers enjoyment. The only dragon age character's I ever modded were all the random npc's in DA Origins and my cousland family to look like my own. Toolset can get addicting.
