Recent art by Nipuni... She calls this one "Foolish love". "Hate is always foolish and love is always wise."
Sadly, I've got the feeling that Solas may sometimes forget this. I disagree with that quote. lol what’s it from?

I really do think that any live elements are going to be more like the last two AC games. It's a really good way to add content (and get money from players). I think weapons and armour packs are a must! That thought really excites me, because let's face it, BW are a bit stulted sometimes fashion wise. Also hairstyles would be great, as well! Can you imagine how much some suckers, ahem, I mean fans would pay for long, flowing locks cascading to their ankles? It's a lot of damned money! Imagine a new face for the next fugly female love interest! The maladjusted could get their Real Doll lookalike, SJWs be damned! If they really wanted to make scads of cash, they could dole out tiny chapters of Solavellan angst to us. Also, if any of you see a toon on ESO called Mariasa, you will see not wanting to play with others at it's most obvious. I have yet to turn on any chat for that game or group up with anyone at all. I'm playing it as solo as I can. I love that I can do so. I don't know how feasible it is for later game, but I care nothing for group dungeons or raids or pvp or any of that. I want to do stuff by myself, maybe get a little house, do some crafting, etc.

In today's special chapter release (only $5.99), find out how Lavellan is coping with a broken heart. This chapter will also contain new clothing items! Bathrobe, puppy face slippers, and sweatpants. New furniture items! Wine bottle and glass and box of tissues, plus order now and get the limited edition golden chocolate box.
Lavellan uses crystal to contact Dorian: I dreamed of Solas again last night!
Dorian: Guuuuuurrrlll, no! He is such a dog! What is he thinking? Why can't he just leave you alone, gahhhh!!!
Lavellan wails: I don't knoooooowwwwww! I keep seeing his cute wolf nose and I crumble, I don't know what to do.
Dorian: Is someone with you, darling? I mean, where's Cullen, can't you bang him again to get it out of your system? That's it, I mean I just have to come out and take you on a trip somewhere.
(The rest of the chapter is a two day jaunt through the disreputable bars of Val Royeaux with shenanigans and vomiting)

I don't really even blink at spending $10 bucks on stuff packs for the sims if it's content I can see myself using. The couple of cosmetic packs from DA:I which were released I still haven't picked up, though, because I don't care for them aesthetically. DA:I must not have had much of a budget for them, and only made what was lore-compliant and they really felt needed to be added to the game. I would have loved a dress or two, or a hair pack, but I get that they have to cater mainly to the weapons and armor crowd. Lol, that's so true about the romances, though I don't think there's been a truly ugly female character in all of DA except the broodmothers. I'm fairly certain dating sims sometimes have extra chapters you can buy, which just have the PC and their love interest going on dates and such. I would be up for more angst among other things, that's for sure.

The Dalish get a lot of shit for not getting everything right, but you know... DAI shows that everybody is wrong.
The dwarves are wrong about "real dwarves" never going to the surface and they don't know about titans either.
Tevinter is wrong about having been the ones who destroyed the ancient elven empire.
The Chantry is wrong about the magisters having created the Blight. It was already there when they entered the Fade.

Bittersweet romance is the best romance. (Song totally isn't romantic in nature, but a lot of the lyrics and themes fit the ship very snugly, from both sides.)

(The rest of the chapter is a two day jaunt through the disreputable bars of Val Royeaux with shenanigans and vomiting) Slightly less silly, but could you see the live service part being us able to play our Inquisitor while the main game is about playing a new character (the spy mentioned in the Shreier article maybe?). So, the main game has hints that our inquisitor is still around doing their own things to find and confront Solas, but you got to pay a little extra to actually get to experience and role-play it. Otherwise, you only hear about it through the equivalent of War Table missions (along with a pre-decided outcome). New players or those not wanting to play the inquisitor anymore, wouldn't care to buy it, but for the rest of us? I'm not sure if that would be brilliant, or evil...

The conversation with Solas when he asks "What will you do with the power of the Well?" is pretty amusing. You say one thing and then he subtly takes it as encouragement for his Veil tearing plan. As the player, I just thought "No, no, no, that's not what she meant! "

As the player, I just thought "No, no, no, that's not what she meant! " Yeah. Then you say one of the other things and he also takes it as encouragement. There’s only one option he doesn't thank you for and that one is you basically reminding him of Mythal’s murder, if I'm understanding it right. That conversation is such a trap and i love it. lol

I would say however that some of the responses are quite ambiguous tho.

Here's the conversation options to refresh your memories: Solas: What will you do with the power of the Well once Corypheus is dead? Option 1:Inquisitor: I’ll use whatever power I have to undo the chaos that Corypheus and his allies have caused. Solas: You would put things back the way they were before? Inquisitor: Yes. I mean, not exactly… Solas: I know what you mean. Thank you. Inquisitor: For what? Solas: You have not been what I expected, Inquisitor. You have… impressed me. You honour the past and work to recover what was lost, even if the cost is high. I respect that, and I am indebted to you for the reminder. Option 2:Inquisitor: I trust my friends. Solas: I know that mistake well enough to carve the angles of her face from memory. Inquisitor: Why is this so important to you? Solas: You have not been what I expected, Inquisitor. You have… impressed me. You must not let false modesty allow you to pass your power to someone else. There are few regrets sharper than watching fools squander what you sacrificed to achieve. Option 3:Inquisitor: I’m not arrogant enough to think it’s my decision alone. Whatever happens, we’ll do it together. Solas: You think to share your power, to avoid the temptation to misuse it. A noble sentiment… but, ultimately, a mistake. Inquisitor: Why? Solas: Because while one selfless woman may walk away from the lure of power’s corruption, no group has ever done so. Option 4:Inquisitor: The war proved that we can’t go back to the way things were. I’ll try to help this world move forward. Solas: You would risk everything you have in the hope that the future is better? What if it isn’t? What if you wake up to find that the future you shaped is worse than what was? Inquisitor: I’ll take a breath, see where things went wrong, and then try again. Solas: Just like that? Inquisitor: If we don’t keep trying, we’ll never get it right. Solas: You’re right. Thank you. Inquisitor: For what? Solas: You have not been what I expected, Inquisitor. You have… impressed me. You have offered hope that if one keeps trying, even if the consequences are grave… that someday, things will be better. Solas: Forgive my melancholy. Corypheus has cost us much. The Temple of Mythal did not deserve such a fate. The orb he carries, and its stolen power… that, at least, we may still recover. With luck, some of the past may yet survive.

I love how a line can change depending on your tone of voice.
When Solas says "I thought you'd rather discuss your opinion on elven culture. You're Dalish, are you not?", one of the possible replies is "The Dalish are trying to preserve our history. If you know something new, share it."
The male British actor says it in a very neutral tone, like he is genuinely and politely asking Solas to share what he knows. Now... Alix Wilton's Lavellan sounds like she is doing her best to hold back her anger and be civil. You can tell that inside, she is thinking "Fine, asshole. If you know so much better, go ahead. Show me."

This is one of things I like about having multiple VAs for the main character, about how they'll interpret certain lines and scenes.
Harry Hadden-Paton (Male British Inquisitor) and Jo Wyatt (Female Hawke) both deliver funny/sarcastic lines with the same dry wit, whereas Jon Curry (Male American Inquisitor) and Nicholas Boulton (Male Hawke) tend to go for a more comedic tone. I enjoy both styles of delivery, especially as it makes it easier to roleplay.
When it comes to rolling a male Dwarf or Qunari Inquisitor, I tend to pick sarcastic lines that work well with Jon Curry's great comedic timing, whereas rolling a male Human or Elf, I'll tend to pick lines that highlight how damn suave HHP's voice sounds.

One thing I don't understand is, why are there warriors and rogues among the ancient elves.
Didn't Solas say that everyone had a connection to the Fade back then? So how come not everyone was a mage?
