My Dalish dagger rogue ended up having a solid mentor/mentee friendship with (Divine) Vivienne and still romanced Solas The Dalish I have in mind would rub Vivienne up the wrong way as well. Definitely a belligerent sort, who is likely to annoy everyone. They hate Tevinter, the Chantry, Orlais and anyone who criticises the Dalish. They probably won't romance anyone. The only problem I can foresee is that whilst they may dislike Solas, they might be curious as to what he knows and talking with Solas is a sure way to get his approval. I suppose I'll have to role play that after the initial conversations when it becomes apparent he doesn't approve of the Dalish, they think anything he knows is not worth knowing. After all, they don't know he is an ancient elf at this stage, just think he is some jumped up city elf apostate.

romance anyone but Solas and try not to get taken in by his charms? I've thankfully yet to fall into Solavellan hell so I can't give you a clear answer (I'm a Cullen x Lavellan romancer myself)
Run. Run while you still can! don't ya worry...Cullen keeps trapping me with puppy eyes ...I did do Solas' Fade kiss a little while back though...it was cute, but not enough to have my heart shattered into tiny pieces...nope

How to get over Solas, dear friends? I want to feel pace again Most Inquisitor problems can be resolved by the appropriate amount of Big Metal Pointy Stick.

Do you guys think Solas could learn to be happy in the modern world? I think it wouldn't be possible until he forgives himself for putting the Veil up in the first place. Not sure he'll ever be able to do that, though.

Do you guys think Solas could learn to be happy in the modern world? If he tempered his expectations. It seems like he was getting to like everyone, but his goal is like an obsession. If he could move through that, I think he could.

While I think yes/no/maybe he could learn to appreciate some aspects of the modern world, I would prefer if he didn't. I want him to take down the veil. Not a popular desire for many, I just think it would be fun to play in the world without the veil. Not saying that will happen, and to reiterate this is just something I would like. Not going to be upset if things turn out differently, as they most likely will.

Not going to be upset if things turn out differently, as they most likely will. It would certainly be interesting if he could restore the world to what it was before he created the Veil. Just destroying the Veil didn't seem like something that would leave the world of Thedas in very livable state (if the dark future you see in Redcliffe is any indication).

Gareth David-Lloyd @pancheers Lovely to hear some familiar voices in today’s top secret recording session
(I have no idea if this is about Dragon Age or Torchwood or some other work Gareth David-Lloyd has done and is now returning to, but a person can dream...)

Well unless Ianto can return from the dead, it can't be Torchwood and if it was some new project I doubt it would be that top secret, plus he says voices not faces, so.....the dream is on!

Sigh, I now discover that John Barrowman was recently working on a Torchwood audio drama entitled Absent Friends, which does in fact sound like something that could have involved Ianto Jones and thus Gareth David-Lloyd. This has now been pulled because of some scandalous behaviour that has come to light about John Barrowman but that is a very recent development, so Gareth could have posted his Tweet before it all came to light.
However, it doesn't sound as though the Torchwood project was particularly top secret.

An interesting little theory here in this short video: when Varric is saying "demons, dragons, darkspawn, even the Dread Wolf" he is not referring to those who oppose us but those who have our back against something even worse. I'm not convinced myself but it would be a further twist to the tale if it were true.

I wouldn't have a Crow close to my back even if they weren't a Mary Sue. I'd just take regular demons instead. Some of them are warm and fuzzy. Or just a spirit Varric mis-identified.

I'd just take regular demons instead. Some of them are warm and fuzzy. Or just a spirit Varric mis-identified. Well some people in world regarded Cole as a demon and it is possible that some demons wouldn't want the races wiped out as it would spoil their fun. Also, I don't think the forbidden ones, like Imshael, would particularly want to see the Evanuris back seeing as they were the ones who banished them. So it is not beyond the bounds of possibility that an individual that in-world people class as a demon would unite with our common cause against either Solas or some other big bad that emerges from the shadows. After all, if Solas does succeed in dropping the Veil, it might well be that we all need to join up in order to combat the returning Evanuris. To be honest if Solas wanted to help combat that centipede, sea god in the concept art, I wouldn't necessarily say no, just keep a careful eye on him and what he planned to do next.

I was just wondering... do the Dalish choose their vallaslin?
I mean, we all assume it must be the case, but I don't remember any evidence of that.

I have the remnants of something in my head, about how they chose vallaslin based on whichever god has the most meaning to them personally (so an apprentice crafter may chose to take June's vallaslin to signify his future profession and passion). But I'd be damned if I can figure out who or what said that. It might honestly be a headcanon that wormed its way into being pseudo-canon in my head.

But I'd be damned if I can figure out who or what said that. It might honestly be a headcanon that wormed its way into being pseudo-canon in my head. I remember that too. I'm sure it was something I heard in game back in DAO but I suppose I could be imagining it and just assumed that would be what governed which tattoo they took. After all, it makes sense that they would have the vallaslin of the god that most closely matches their personal aspirations and outlook on life. They definitely do not take the vallaslin until the Keeper considers they are ready and it does seem some sort of rite into adulthood. I suppose it could be the Keeper determines which vallaslin they should take but even then it is likely they would choose the vallaslin that most closely matched the character of the individual. Our Dalish Warden was taught this: When the children of our people came of age, they earn the privilege of wearing the vallaslin, the blood writing. It sets us apart from the shemlen, and from the elves who have thrown their lot in with them. It reminds us that we will never again surrender our traditions and beliefs. It doesn't say how they select which vallaslin to take but it does mention that you "earn" the privilege, so may be they have to do a task successfully before they are allowed them. You will recall that Cammen did not yet have vallaslin and he needed to undertake a successful hunt before Gheyna would marry him, so perhaps he would not receive his vallaslin until he had done this and it would thus make sense she would not marry him as technically he would still be a child. I don't recall she had any vallaslin either and yet they seemed well into their teens, so I wonder why she hadn't received hers.

It might differ from tribe to tribe, though? I could see it as something which a Keeper would meditate on as well. Someone want to tweet Weekes?
