I want to see him in shambles when he meets with Lavellan face to face

So... what will Solas be doing the rest of the game? Please don't tell me he'll be hatching yet another destructive plan. Or was Solas a villain for a mere 5 minutes of DAV?

Okay, I guess it's time to finally awaken from Uthenera.

There are two options I can think of right now:

A. They'll end everyone besides of Rook and our companions^^;, after which we'll be dealing with the aftermath of that interrupted ritual all on our own,

B. Solas (together with Varric, or... Inquisitor?*) are either imprisoned or lost in the Fade and may only help us through dreams, impressions or magic, and maaaaaaybe return for the Grand Finale? 


*I have to wonder if it'd be possible that Varric is a 'default' choice, but we could replace him with Inky

I had the same thought about Varric and Inky. But I am not getting my hopes up there. 

And I think(hope) the second scenario is how it goes. Those two folks who floated up at him are ominous as all hell. He's imprisoned them for millennia, I think they plan to return the favor. Or at least keep him for a bit. 

I would love if one of our missions is about rescuing Solas. Heads might explode, but I'd enjoy it. XD

Either way, I feel like he HAS to live past the first scenario. Not to be corny about it, but there ARE a bunch of questions that only he has answers to.

I dare say he'll be doing as he always does, trying to fix the mess he created when his plan went wrong. That's the story of his life. May be one day he'll learn to leave things alone. I loved Varric's comment that the big pride demon was drawn through by Solas' ego.

So, I feel like Varric's statement in the demo of "Solas needs someone to sell him another option. To help him justify changing his mind." might be the mission/thesis statement of the game. The main focus being on "another option". Which Varric doesn't seem to have actually had at the time, but w/e. I've always hoped this game's plot would involve finding that "other option", if you chose. So, I'm very happy with this.

It'll be easy to decide to kill the egg, but I'm hopeful we really will get the option to save him, too. At least, in the "he doesn't have to become the monster he thinks he does" sense.

Personally speaking I'm glad they went with demons. It is likely that he left his followers in the Crossroads out of harm's way, although I did wonder when one of the party (Neve perhaps?) said how he couldn't do the ritual on his own, although Varric did point out he was an ancient elven god. Also, where are all the Veil Jumpers? Presumably Bellara must turn up shortly after that episode we saw.

I did think it a bit funny that Varric thought he was going to use his wheeler dealer skills on Solas and he'd just go "okay, you've convinced me". I seem to recall the Inquisitor had a nice long time to convince him otherwise and it didn't work, so why Varric thought he could do any better is beyond me.

I've just realised, he may be a little exhausted after all that effort, so he'll be off taking a nap. Wake him in another 1,000 years.

Yeah, the key to providing Solas another option is to... you know... actually have another option. Its probably not Varric's fault, though. He was the one there, he had to try and play the cards he had.
