The Blanketfort (crying and throwing up) - The Official Solas Thread [Spoilers]

It's like a moment of rebellion, but then he looks so sorrowful at one point that it just breaks my heart. 

Also, his armour is stunning. What is that? 

Oooh! It's compatible with the Circle Robes mod! My Eibhlin and Solas are gonna be the best dressed elves around!

It really does sound like it's just southern Thedas, but it doesn't fit - what's up with the Arlathan Forest up north? I always thought Arlathan was originally there but it could be that they just decided to name the forest after the great city (but why?). There is the city called Solas which also lies to the north, not sure if it means something since we can't know if it was built post the Veil or before.

Also "bits to the west" = Tirashan? Because if I had to guess the Tirashan was the land of the Forgotten Ones.

Anyhow what we do know is that there are probably Eluvians in Par Vollen or Seheron, The Darvaarad is coastal and it is most likely in Qunari territory and it's through there that the Qunari invasion began.

Am I the only person who feels uncomfortable looking at this fresco?



The freed elves seem.. like walking dead - pale, gaunt cheeks, just staring ahead, in that weird bubble thingy with thick border.
The elves with the vallaslin seem healthier, happy even, not sure if they are happy because Fen'Harel is taking their markings or they were happier before being freed.
The orb is there, in what looks like a sea that's filling up... or going down? The waves are the same as the waves from the vallaslin, is the vallaslin drawing energy from marked slaves into the foci?

Maybe the elves in the back are not freed elves but nobles? Fen'Harel turned his back on them and they watch helplessly as he takes their slaves away? I don't want to think these are the freed slaves, they look miserable, something is amiss. Was that what Solas meant when he said that "You saw another story, written in desperation to give me far more credit than I deserve"?

The pattern of the orb is peculiar, it has a border like the border you see on the ground (= earth?) and the pattern in the middle is waves like the water it's sunken in. Not sure if it means something but it just caught my eye.

I always befriend Solas even knowing how it ends, but I really hope that Flemeth returns in some form and eats that little bastard. Of the entire series, Flemeth is my favorite character. I imagine a giant dragon landing on Solas and bites his head off or something along those lines. "No no, please no!" Could be alone in that I suppose.

I just wondered... do we know that north is north and has always been and will always be north? I mean, it's a land of magic and stuff. You got an overlay network (the Fade) connecting different places, in fact even an overlay over the overlay (the crossroads, where the eluvians lead to), teleporters (pedestals) and all such things. Maybe geographic placement isn't much more than a convenience and changes over time, like I can rearrange the furniture (countries/regions) in my apartment (Thedas). It's still my shelf and bed, just they reside in different places. The continents on Earth changed considerably over millions of years, maybe something similar happens in Thedas, just faster?
This is nothing I thought about before and I don't even have an elaborate opinion on this, it just popped up in my mind.

Okay, that does sound better, now that I look at it better the color of the bubble around them is very similar to the color of the pool the foci is in and it is contained, it has this pinkish barrier. When compared to the vallaslin wearing elves - they have a bubble but it's empty and has no barrier, and right next to it you see a pooling of "magic", you can literally see in running from them to the foci (it even has a slope).

It could be that the freed elves are tinted blue because there is a layer of magic above them, a bit like this:

I keep forgetting how much negativity there is towards Solas, it's too safe here lol

I mean, it's better than having lots of people going "meh" over him, a character that doesn't get a response (either way) from the player isn't a well written character.
Think about it this way - there are so many people who have opinions about Solas and want to confront him that if they make DA4 there is no way they can not include Inqi without getting a massive backlash D:
