I have found my clan! Andaran atish'an! Thank you all so much for blankets, cookies and hugs. I am so very bruised. My Lavellan was kind and considerate and worked so hard to save the world but if there had been an option to dive at him and grasp his ankles so he was dragging her with him like a stubborn child she would have done. Even if it meant the end of her world. Which is sad because she adored her world and her friends. Dorian was her best friend. But her love for Solas was all consuming, she would have done anything to be by his side. Omg, i cant believe how attached to the whole game i have become. This has never happened before, not on this scale. I romanced Alistair in the first game and loved it but this had such emotion and depth. The animators did such an amazing job on the Crestwood scene. I could feel both their pain. His eyes! When i was playing, i was there, and i became very attached to my Lavellan. Every song I've listened too since yesterday seems to relate to Solas. Heres one that is so perfect it hurts - beautiful disaster sang by Kelly Clarkson. Here are the lyrics.. ... This hell is fresh for me. I apologise if i have torn open any old wounds on here. As for me... I don't think this wound will ever heal 😭 Aww. /hugs/ again. It'll be alright - most of us went through this, and you're definitely not alone. Speaking of Solavellan songs, I really like Memories by Within Temptation.

The genius thread title change lured me here for the first time.  A Solasmance is on my to-do list, but I need to play the accompanying DAO and DA2 worlds first (it's a thing, I just have to okay?). Seeing how I've played them both 5 times each in the last 2 years I just can't do it again right now. Not for a long long time. Urgh. But holy hell I wanna romance Solas so much after reading this thread. *sigh* So many ppl wanna get in mah Quizzy's pants....but there's so little time.  At least I'm saving one of the best till later though aye? Wow! That's a lot of Dragon Age.  I've been feeling a bit dismayed that I'm converting DAO, Awakening and DA2 from PS3 to 360, which means losing all of my Trophies/Unlocked Specializations, Saves, etc... An optimist might say, "You get to do it all again," but I just find it incredibly daunting. So much work, no matter how enjoyable it all was, is being lost.  All I can say is, "Thank you BioWare for the Keep!". I just refreshed my DA Keep imports. (It had been two years since I'd last logged into the Keep.) I'll eventually rebuild some saves for the trilogy, but there's no way it will equal what I had. If I can just get the Specializations unlocked as quickly as possible, I'll be content. I'd totally cheat to do it. I'm going to search to see if there's a save editor like the ME2 and ME3 gibbed editor, I think. No shame in my game, after all these years. I know what I've already accomplished in this game-world. |

My last run will be a mage romancing Morrigan, an Isabela romance and then Solas. Once I'm done with that I'll consider DAO 'done'. I'll have romanced everyone and experienced every option, and at point will be happy to just fill in the Keep. As long as I've done it at some point, I think it's okay to chose it in the future for a made up world state. With the specializations, just save, make the deal with the demon or the mad cultists or whatever, and the specialization will unlock for keeps. Then reload and do the choice you actually wanted to do. |

I'm probably the only one, but I could never play through DAO properly, without resorting to cheats. It always feels like the storyline stays in one place for 90% of the time and nothing really happens until the Landsmeet, so I get bored around the third big quest and. Just. Can't. Never had this problem with DAII or even DAI (even though it's really-really long...). The consensus seems to be that it's the best DA game, though, so please don't burn me for heresy.It's ok buddy, not every game is going to please every one. Maybe this one wasn't for you. I tend to have this issue but it was no problem with da:o, maybe because I played it a long time ago ? I prefered da:i better of the 3 but I have a very specific gaming background lol (lots of mmorpgs and running around in the plains farming things, basically. Add deep lore and I belong to u) |

I just began a new DAO playthrough and when I go to get the Dalish that Fen'Harel statue always leaves me feeling forlorn... but I recently started to chat with Sten, unlocking his "hidden dialogue" so we had fun talking about wisdom and debating mage rights as we climbed the tower. Kind of reminded me of my talks with Solas.

PS I may or may not have bought my husband a cream colored splitneck sweater, and I may or may not keep pestering him about buying some tight green trousers. He indulges my craziness with a laugh or an eye roll. I "encouraged" him to play a Solasmancer on his first PT too, so he completely gets my pain. Is there any chance you might compel your beau to do an Egg run? There's plenty of delicious elvhen pain for everyone! sobs I don't haz one so I intended to do it MYSELF (hence working on teh necklace) I need moar soals in my lief yes |
