Pretty much any time racism is brought up in any form or fashion I just casually mention that I hate all races equally.

While I like to think there's no intelligence gap between different races, there is troubling evidence: I agree! Look at how many people didn't vote for Trump.

While I like to think there's no intelligence gap between different races, there is troubling evidence: I agree! Look at how many people didn't vote for Trump. It is flawed period. It does not take into credence those who didn't vote at all. You mean a bunch of people that died ages ago? Like all those people that commited slavery that we shouldn't feel white guilt over since they also died ages ago? You're so right. I'm not sure why people oppose neo nazis so much, or communist middle class kids. I mean, the people responsible for the German nazi party are long dead, and so are the founders of the soviet union. Just because the democrats changed from a whip to a cheap pay check, doesn't mean they aren't trying to control people under them, especially black americans. I wonder what you would say to this fellow? would you call him an uncle tom? Race traitor maybe? NO! This guy is a true PATRIOT!

Let me put it this way: If you take an asian, a white and a black person in USA, and then assume that the asian is going to have the highest IQ, the white person the second highest - second lowest, and the black person the lowest IQ, then you have a 96% chance of being wrong. LOL. While possibly true, this is a nice example of structural bias, i.e. the structure of the example influences the result. If you take out any one of the three people - doesn't matter which one - your chance of being wrong about the other two would go down signficantly - and it would go down below 50% if there is any significant difference at all on the aggregate level. Edit. Actually, this 96% claim can't be true. Suppose average intelligence doesn't vary between the groups, then you'll have a 50% probability of being wrong when comparing two people, one of each group. Then add one of a third group and compare them to the other two, adding two chances of 50% for being wrong. That means with no difference in average IQ between the groups, any guess is wrong 87.5% of the time (1/2³). Now add that there *are* differences in average IQ test scores, and your chance of being wrong will be significantly lower than that. Not that I recommend actually using such population-based data to judge individual people, that's stupid (and racist). This is just a nice example of the pitfalls of statistics. I have to admit I was sloppy (why spend time?), but you're (also) wrong, because that's not the example or task I postulated. If we pretend that we can always distinguish two individuals in intelligence, then the answer will be about 83%. (1- 1/6). The assumption was, that given three individuals of different races, a prejudiced, presumed order of intelligence would turn out be correct. There are 6 different possible orders: ABC, BAC, CBA, ACB, BCA, CAB. There is however a complication. That assumes that you can always assign an order of intelligence between two or three people. Well, you can't do that. So given equal probabilities to outcome, you'll have a 93% chance of being wrong (so not 96%).

I wonder what you would say to this fellow? would you call him an uncle tom? Race traitor maybe? The school system is bullshit because as far as i'm aware each public school is funded by local property taxes. So poor kids go to poor schools, get poor educations, get poor jobs, and live poor lives. Sounds like unequal opportunity to me. A true meritocracy wouldn't have such a bullshit system in place. A true meritocracy would ensure that all children regardless of socioeconomic status receive the same education. A lot of people vote democrat and liberal because these candidates usually support programs that help the poor, and other disadvantaged groups like women, gays, and immigrants while the republican and conservative candidates usually want to defund these programs and stand against women, gays, and immigrants. That's the perception anyway. A lot of poor whites vote republican yet they're still poor. What are these candidates doing for them?

Troubling in the political sense? Cause the most troubling thing I see here is how black americans overwhelmingly vote for the party that defended slavery and was involved in the foundation of the KKK. Yeah really, its almost as if people are voting based on what a party stands for now, and not what its position was at some other point in history. Pretty crazy stuff.

And of course its hard to get a group of people to vote for you when you explicitly favor policies that disproportionately harm that group and oppose policies that disproportionately favor that group. At least you can't blame Republicans for false advertising. But African-Americans vote out of self-interest no less than any other sort of American, and the explicit policy positions and political outcomes of the two parties at this time make many African-Americans' political affiliation inevitable.

Lemme fix that for ya... THIS JUST IN: WHO FUCKING CARES?I hate this subject and debate it never leads to anything productive or helpful to the human race. Fuck this "debate" and those who keep pushing it as something that needs to be discussed. At the end of the day, you're more likely to have a lower iq when you're surrounded by poverty and lack positive influences. There's no guarantee either way. Cause morons need something to moan about to compensate for their pathetic existence.

But African-Americans vote out of self-interest no less than any other sort of American, and the explicit policy positions and political outcomes of the two parties at this time make many African-Americans' political affiliation inevitable. All of this is just plain wrong. No, it certainly doesn't look that way. As per Hajnal/Horowitz 2014, from 1948-2010 African-Americans under Democratic presidents on average saw a 2.41 decrease in poverty rate, a .36 drop in unemployment rate, and an increase of $895 in annual salary, while under Republican presidents they saw on average a .15 increase in poverty rate, a .39 increase in unemployment rate, and an increase of $142 in annual salary. They also saw larger decreases on average in arrest rate and the racial gap in arrest rate under Democratic administrations. Shapiro 2016 shows a similar disparity in income growth over a shorter span (from Reagan to Obama). If these figures, taken from census data, are incorrect, you'll have to actually cite something or present some evidence that that is the case, your bare assertion obviously doesn't mean a thing. And that Republicans favor policies like mandatory minimums and voter ID laws that disproportionately harm African-Americans and oppose policies like affirmative action and social programs that disproportionately favor African-Americans is of course an almost trivial piece of public knowledge, not really the sort of thing one can credibly dispute.

Alright, time to kill this thread. This wasn't what you all thought it was. It wasn't about the topic, could care less. It was a social experiment to see how you guys would react. And congrats, this forum is officially the best in the milky way galaxy. ... Just not better then Commander Shepard.
