I vote bad writing. The asari are ALL she talks about, other than gardening.

She could also just be sexually uptight, meaning she'd have reacted the same if it were all men (or "men" if they were a mono-gendered race of people who all looked like guys).

She is not as immature as Liam, but yes, she is a little. Maybe more than immature, Cora had mosly an undeveloped personal identity. Since she didn't felt really accepted thanks to her biotic abilities, she had felt/desired to find herself with the Asari. After all, why not? She is a woman, she have strong biotic powers, is not surprising she felt she had something in common with the Asari, who are woman with biotic abilities. The fact that the Commando (at least their reputation) are the embodiment of what Cora as a soldiar and a person may aspire, well, here that Cora have found her way. but using that as her One Note is either A) bad writing or her having an underlying condition that explains her obsession. A Normal person is able to hold an conversation without having their hobbies, interests, or loves obsessively coming thru like with Cora. Having Cora explaining the difference in Military Doctrine of Asari Commandos and the N7 Marines will be alright but a good writer will not be bound on 1 good trait. What I am trying to say either Cora's writing needs to up their game with her to shown she is not obsess with the Asari or their respective Culture or fully explore her obsession as an obsession or potential bisexuality. As melbella said, bad writing is the answer. Most of the MEA character have the same desease as DA2 characters (at least for me) too space to a single argument of conversation that make the character one note and monodimensional. And I'd go with obsession over bisexuality. I can't see it possible for her living with the Asari and not have a single experience with one if she had any kind of interest in women. Is neither conform to the ME lore (where sexuality is not a problem) nor to the Asari, who are probably naturally more inclined to be lesbian than bisexual.

I don't think she is sexually uptight, since when asked about if she had someone romantic she talks about how she "had fun on shore leave but nothing serious".

Not sure if I never noticed or simply didn't trigger the dialogue. It's also been a long time since my last time playing. Still, nothing she said indicated that gender was the issue. She seemed to imply that even when the did engage in fraternization, it was usually just a one-time thing. That could also be a reason not to engage. I don't think we can really draw any full conclusions about whether or not Cora would engage sexually with an asari, even if not with a human female.

You'd think that BioWare would have thought a character like Cora would have been ripe with potential in having a character explore her sexual identity that would not only be unique for a romantic character, but would also be uniquely relevant to the Mass Effect universe in general. A human female soldier who gets to train under the guidance of an all-female race and through their guidance (and other encounters) Female characters in Mass Effect Andromeda who you can romance don't really have anything to say about why they're attracted to women. Suvi has a moment where she says any relationship with Scott wasn't going to work, but that's about it. Vetra is just game. Peebee is just game. Cora could have been the unmistakable lesbian character who's sexuality is associated with this universe.

Only if Vetra becomes incestuous. I was really hoping my male ryder could have a threesome with vetra and her sister. Such a missed opportunity.

So I don't want to take that away from them. So keeping that in mind, Having a bisexual Cora and had an asari lover in the past might work. Also give Sister Ryder a chance for Cora. Also having Cora independant from either Ryder and able to choose her lover of either gender or species will be respectful for her character.

For anyone who's read the novel (or paid close attention to the game), we know that her closest friend among the Asari was Janae. They were besties, and Janae became romantically interested in Cora. Cora had to tell her there was no attraction. They remained very close, with Janae being that person Cora had to leave behind to come to Andromeda. Cora loves Janae, just not romantically. If she were remotely interested in women, Janae would've had the best chance. We can question the surprising choice to make the human Huntress with a side-cut unambiguously straight. I know it took many by surprise. It would be weird, though, to change it now. The writer went out of her way to make Cora explicitly straight, unlike a Jaal or Kaidan.

She's a weeb, she lives and idolizes the non-human life with the Asari. She's so far up their butts that I can't believe she hasn't talked about how many she's already been in bed with! Cora deserves an asari girlfriend or waifu, right Casey!? I always assumed Cora had to be banging the asari huntresses the whole time she was with them. Since she's straight I don't really believe so, but I won't deny the idea is hot as all f...

Asari seem to be different in regard to sexuality and other races. I think of how other races fall for asari when they wouldn't a human of a gender different from what they'd normally be with.
