I'm secretly hoping that BioWare is going to copy Bethesda and pull a Fallout 4- they announce the game is being released like 4 months before it comes out, so we don't have a super-long lengthy wait. If they did release it next year, that would be really awesome. They could have Anthem in the spring, and Dragon Age in the fall. I'm trying to have reasonable expectations though, so I'm trying to distract myself from thinking about it. This would be a dream come true, tbh. I doubt that's what's happening, but it would be so nice...

But on the plus side, we now know that DA:I was BioWare's bestselling game, Was it the best selling? I know it was the best launched Bioware game according to EA.

How many copies? They haven't said. All we know is that it's less than 10m.
(Patrick gets to write his DA musical DLC if they hit 10m. )
I get the sense from their tweets that they're not that far off though (8-9m would be my guess).

Its a good thing the game sold very well. I'm just surprised since ME3 was the end of the trilogy and I believe it sold over 6 million.

I would imagine that keeping too much of a gap between games wouldn't be good from a business standpoint- I feel like after waiting so long, fans would loose interest and move on. But then again, I'm not a business-type person, so what do I know. There might be even more of a fuss if there's a big gap.

Is it highest "selling" or highest "sold at launch."
Those are different things, even if games sell more at launch.

Is it highest "selling" or highest "sold at launch." Those are different things, even if games sell more at launch. When DAI first arrived, they pretty quickly pointed out it was best-selling game "at launch".
Mark's tweet though was just a couple of weeks ago, and he's just flat out stating it's BW's best-selling, most decorated game, period.
Shouldn't really be a surprise though given all the glowing press it got.

Surprising to me because shooters tend to be more popular and ME3 got glowing praise from the press also. But now that's Skyrim, Witcher, and DA:I all fantasy RPGs and all doing exceptionally well. Nice to see.

I couldn't give you a quote/timestamp for this, but didn't one of the devs (possibly Laidlaw) mention during promotion for DA:I that they'd likely not announce the next game any earlier than six months pre-release? Because the promotion really dragged on DA:I. We got A LOT of footage, because they wanted to uphold hype during the delay. I can imagine them not wanting to do that again. Footage editing, convention appearances, all those things cost precious time and money.

Yeah, though it was a while ago, Mike did hint at an announcement 6 months before launch...
Da1AnOnlyCrazy @da1anonlycrazy hypothetically if some one were to announce say a open world fantasy RPG when will be a good time to do so? Mike Laidlaw@Mike_Laidlaw6 months before it’s in stores, if Fallout 4 is any indication.
