I finally got enough cards in my Operator to make him exciting for me to play and I was really hoping Invasion was that awesome on him.

Invasion IS awesome. 30% Defense Debuff is awesome (40% if you want to be technical, but I prefer to spec for maximum spreading). Honestly, Invasion is one of the BEST powers for Platinum, FAR better than Stealth Grid. Operator is a great char overall if you want to pick one to specialize in, though I personally find Shield Boost pretty poor on Platinum, but Overload and Invasion are a top notch combo (throw in Disruptor Ammo and you're set). Artificer is also top tier, out-of-the-box Platinum-ready. That they are both so good on Platinum really speaks to the power of Invasion, neither is tanky by any standard, but they stand apart as cornerstones of a good plat team.

Yeah, I think I'm going to respec for something similar soon, skip Cryo Beam and take Elemental Tech (Most people seem to use elemental ammo anyway).

Many good build possibilities for the Artificer. My Platinum solo build works well for solos, but for a team build, I would bump up the points in Invasion. If you can survive with just one point in Defense Drone, can you also max out Invasion, Cryo Beam, and Remnant VI; just be sure to in cover at all times!
I played the Operator so much (second most next to the Avenger) that I got to know the ins and outs of Invasion quite well. Both Virulence and Sabotage in fact are good as Rank 6 options. 15% enemy damage debuff doesn’t sound like a lot, but I have found my Platinum team runs are smoother with it. 30% enemy damage debuff for 8 seconds with Tech Sabotage and Overload is situational, but could allow you to survive a Blaze Hydra rocket barrage in some situations.
Be sure to spec into Offensive Tech 4A to increase your Shield Boost duration and Support Systems 5A to increase Shield Boost and Invasion’s debuff to 60% (instead of what’s listed as 40%). Lots of talk about Invasion in the Numerical Damage Tests thread stickied in this forum.

I like Invasion (on my Artificer, haven’t really started on the Operator yet), but I can’t say it is as good as Stealth Grid. I think SG is the best ability in the game. I’ve only successfully extracted on Platinum with Guardian (I bring him sometimes if there is a Gladiator in the lobby), Juggernaut, Avenger, and Huntress. Avenger and. Huntress are the only ones I’m “comfortable” with, and it is all about the ability to vanish on demand.
I’m sort of a scrubby player, but I’ve never had the guts to bring the Artificer into Platinum...

Interesting... I like the Artifisher character, and have played it a bit. After a lot of testing on gold PUGs, I found SG to be more useful than Invasion. The ability to recover your shields while in SG can keep you alive. The Invasion animation leaves you briefly exposed, and you can get hosed in an instant. I still like Invasion, though, and this discussion makes me want to try it again.

Take her in! Always have an escape route and hug cover. Remember your defense drone will give you (albeit measly) shields back every 6-10 seconds. Use the Remnant VI as an aggro dump and Cryo Beam and Invasion as team debuffs. In that case, I would put minimal points in Offensive Tech. That passive tree is good, but you can still be effective on Platinum without investing too heavily in it.

Do not think she's a powerhouse in DPS, be a team player, help debuffing with massive debuffs! Cover, escape, invasion, cryobeam from far away, shoot, move, cover... Exposing her will get you killed fast but damn if she's a team player kit.

Meanwhile, you do much less damage, and decrease the entire team's capabilities by dumping all the aggro instead of shouldering your fair share. Yah, real bright move that one, hindrance on both offense and defense, certainly qualifies for "best ability in the game" in this mess of an end-product. Grow a pair and stop hiding behind Stealth Grid and actually contribute to the match in a MEANINGFUL way.

I said I was comfortable with Avenger. My Platinum kits are Guardian, Juggernaut, Huntress, and Avenger. The other stealth characters have recharge times and sometimes that’s okay, but sometimes it isn’t, haha.
As for dumping agro on my team when in stealth, well, I play Juggernaut plenty enough. (Guardian only when there is a Krogan Gladiator so I can power shield-fueled Novas.) Sometimes you need stealth characters on a team. Sometimes the lobby is three other stealth players. Finding a plat game these days is tough enough that I don’t judge the kit people show up with.

If you are comfortable with guardian and juggernaut there's no reason you can't also play scrapper and kromerc. Scrapper has snap freeze + flak cannon which is an amazing combo for all the armor in plat, kromerc has concentrated fire and flak cannon + is tanky as hell, not quite juggernaut level but close. Expand your horizons a bit, and spec that flak cannon aab ftw

I can run Scrapper and Krogan Marc in gold, but they’re too squishy for me to have the stones to take them into plat. Maybe if I had a really good team, but I generally PUG and most folks online are gasoline huffing monkeys, it seems... I kid, I kid!

Admittedly, I've solemnly been playing Juggs on Platinum but I wouldn't say I do that because he's less squishy. I do that because he can walk up to anything on Platinum and engage it... like a gasoline huffing monkey!

The Avenger with Stealth Grid is not just an invisible aggro deflector. Stealth Grid can legitimately be set up 4B, 5B, 6B. (Radius, Shield Grid, Ambush Grid). This gives all your teammates within a 30 meter radius cloaking, increased shield regen, decreased shield regen time, as well as a big damage bonus for melee, power or gun when they uncloak. It makes this build a team player, as well as the one who revives everybody else. This works well in a Gold Hack; I've never tried it on Plat.

Most people with fast firing guns don't benefit from the gun bonus, since Ambush Grid isn't like Combat Cloak (where it stays active for 2 seconds after the first shot). Powers possibly, but most don't know to use melee while cloaked. And, in a group Hack, most people just keep on firing right after they get cloaked.

The radius of 4B Shield Grid is only 6m. That can be big enough for a Hack, but it won't help everyone. You are also right that most teammates keep firing after they are cloaked, so the benefit might not even be noticeable (like on a fast firing weapon). If they shoot off a power, however, it gets a 40% damage bonus from the uncloaking. Melee and Gun damage get a 50% bonus from uncloaking, which can help rid the hack zone of unwanted Adhis or other redbars.

And this is why Ambush Grid is great in theory, but worthless in reality. Lets take your average OP Plat gun in the Rozerad or Hurricane or Silhesh, Ambush Grid offers half a bullet bonus, from a gun that takes a clip or two to drop the biggest enemies, it doesn't really achieve anything.
