For some reason this image amuses me too much, it's Geth Trooper with rubber feet.

ima so lonesome i could... ...die this phantom was just a true weeb: fan of DBZ, and more precisely of the commando ginyu, so, she tryed to make a pose, hoping that it would grant her some powers, that it would increase her power-level. unfortunately, it wasn't enough to be over 9000 and...just for the troll (because i could not resist when seing an pose like that)

might not be the right place, but easier to get attention here than in a new thread ? PC Video capture problem: ------------------------------------
I have a new version of Nvidia Shadow play which is launchable now. But even if i have the last pilot installed (i guess it s GPU dependent), it s not recent enough for me to use the video capture in game! It was working perfectly few years back, then it bugged whatever i tried, now it has decided to ignore me cause i have an old gpu... I ll try to install an old version again, and trick it not to update, but not easy IIRC, i failed last time. Anybody would have suggestions ?

Anybody would have suggestions ? i run an older version of SP because i can't be bothered with the online account/registration nonsense they've started pushing for at some stage. here's what i do. It's a bit involved but does the trick. first of a quick detour. you need to have admin/non-admin account if you haven't already. It's a good practice and much safer way of doing things even outside of this little exercise. you'd only use admin account when you explicitly need it e.g. driveres/softwre updats, confgi change etc. and the non-admin account is the one you use on the day-to-day basis for your normal stuff. back to to where we started now. go ahead and install the version of Desktop Experience incl ShadowPlay you're after using your admin account. don't allow it to update or enable automatic updates. log on as your user account, configure application settings including shadowplay the way you like. if hit with the User Account Control prompts, that's most likely will be the DE trying to update, so do NOT elevate your access. cancel and log back on as your admin account launch regedit and navigate your way through the HKEY Local Machine/NVIDIA/Desktop Experience or some such. the key you're after are related to the updates (can't look it up right now but will once get home) it will have some keys and values including timestamps in it. blitz the whole udpates key. log back on to a normal account, it should allow you to complete the config. you're done. if you ever need to change settings you may need to do the same little dance at the time. just one other thing. when you decide to update your drivers (which you should regularly) then instead of running desktop experience installation package and going through the wizard, still download it from nvidia using your normal account (it will prevent accidental installation/system changes) and then extract it's content to a temporary folder of your chosing. something like C:\drivers or some such. 7-zip or launching the package without installing should help with that. once you have the contents unpacked, log on as admin, open device manager, locate your video adapter and say update drivers chose specify location (not window supdate) option and point ito the place where you extracted your updated package. doing it this way will update the actual video drivers but won't touch Desktop Experience/Shadow Play apps.

thx a lot apry, i ll try that tonight, what version would u recommend ? i'm on 2.11.4.0. That's the GeForce (not Desktop as it turns out, semantics, i says though) Experience and ShadowPlay. It's stable enough, i don't have much in the way of complaints. Apart of running out of space more often than i'd liked that is. From memory this build is already both 7/10 compatible. It's Inclusive enough to have worked with my old 670 (?) and the 1060. Guess taking into account they're cutting your chipset off you may need to hone in on the most recent one they supported your chipset. P.S. Oh, and btw the update keys/values i mentioned in the previous post are under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\GFExperience\Update P.P.S One more thing, to launch the SP bypassing GE with the pre-3 builds, create a custome shortcut in this fashion "C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\NVIDIA GeForce Experience\GFExperience.exe" -shadowplay You may need to update the filepath to reflect your build. P.P.P.S Do take the backups before you start mucking around. Backups are good.

Then i ll back up that on a gdoc that is a very good point bud. i can't remember right exactly bud since it's going back a bit but you'd be better off uninstalling all nvidia stuff first indeed. i seem to vaguely recall swearing at windows update/old GE installs reverting back to the previous version of their crap. so i says yep, keep uninstalling until you're back to the vanilla vga drivers before you roll forward
