Who knows ? Depends on what EA/Bioware wants/ feels they need to do.
Showing Bioware has a few years ahead planned with a couple of games can be good. Big games companies often have more than one game down the pipelines. But then again , it might not happen.

I feel like they should announce something. The story about that guest writer who wrote a quest for it is two years old I think. That red book with tower and flame is from around the same time.
I just can't figure out the current timeline. Laidlaw said it was in a good place when he left, but then we hear the team has been scaled back. I'm thinking there may have been a change in scope, plus focus on Anthem. Either way it'd be 2020 at the soonest.

How exactly would the trailer go, I wonder? A slow panning shot over some Thedas landscape then zoom in on a bald elf in shiny armor who says, "I'm still here, bitches."
The only teaser we need.

I think I remember that the year before they actually showed a trailer for MEA they mentioned they were working on it at least during e3. Correct: Mention E3 2014: Announcement E3 2015:

Didn't Mark Darrah already confirm they weren't announcing at this E3?

What if instead of a teaser for the next da game, they announce a remastered dao and da2 to be released? I would be ok with that. I doubt that will happen, but it would be a nice surprise.

What if instead of a teaser for the next da game, they announce a remastered dao and da2 to be released? I would be ok with that. I doubt that will happen, but it would be a nice surprise. I haven't been impressed with the remasters I've seen or heard about thus far. I'm not sure why there is such a clamor for them, to be honest.
Skyrim Special Edition has some enhancements and limited improvement with lighting, shadow, and blur, and stability improvements. Other than that, all of the same bugs are present. All of the old original textures have been upscaled -- badly -- and still look mostly terrible. They didn't add or change anything to the game itself.
With Bioshock it's much the same, including some terrible bugs like a sound issue that should have been fixed.
The new Neverwinter Nights is also the same. I've seen people suggest to not bother with this one at all and just buy the Diamond Edition from GOG, which is DRM-free and works well.
Has there been a remaster that is true to its name? One that makes an older game look better?
There is only ONE criteria that would get me to buy DAO/2 remasters: incorporating the DA Keep into DAA and DA2. (Even if it only reads from the Keep but doesn't write to it!)
With DAA, if you want to import your choices, you MUST play as your Warden, even if you did the Ultimate Sacrifice. I partly understand why they did this, but I don't want to play as my dead Warden just to see my choices import correctly. That is completely immersion-breaking for me. I do so wish I had the option to play as an Orlesian Warden + import, OR as my dead Warden (because I know there are players that would still want this choice).
This, then, further complicates the import into DA2, because I can't have an unbroken import chain from DAO>DAA>DA2. If I import my Orlesian Warden into DA2, my DAO choices will be those default choices in the DAA play (because I didn't import due to not wanting to play as my dead Warden). Importing a DAA save with certain choices is the only way to get the Nathaniel quest (and see your Warden sibling!). So now heading into a new DA2 play, I'm stuck deciding which is more important: importing from DAO and those choices (and related side quests that trigger), or importing a DAA save so I can do the Nathaniel quest.
Either way, having a dead Warden makes DAA and DA2 an irksome play experience because of these issues.
However, I highly doubt that that would ever happen, as that would take a lot of work in the game's guts. But if some miracle occurred and they did do this -- instant purchase.

Considering the focus is on Anthem this year, I doubt they'll risk stealing any kind of thunder away from Anthem.

I don't know but gimme gimme gimme that sweet sweet stuff to make me spend 8 hours a day obsessing over a 12 second video online. I just got a promotion so I obviously need the distraction BioWare come through on this
Also, I'd love a remaster. I honestly don't purchase remasters because of the "improved graphics" etc. First and foremost, the only console I have right now is a PS4, I don't hold on to old consoles. Secondly, remasters usually come with all of the DLC that I ignored the first time around. Third... well that's pretty much it. I definitely wouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth on this one

Not holding out much hope. But I guess there's always the chance that they realize not everyone wants to play a shooter-looter and will at least tease something that we'll have to wait another year before getting any concrete information on.

I can't get too excited as it almost certainly won't be FO5. More likely it's a remaster, SE, FO4 for Switch, or possibly a spin-off from another studio.

There’s Elder Scrolls Online. Made by a different studio and not in the main series (or so I've heard, I haven't played the game) Edit: Also the series apparently isn't done, they just don't have the technology there yet for what they want to do with the next game - or atleast that's what I've read.

I remember that as well. And Bethesda has stated a few times now they want to do 2 new "Skyrim-sized" IPs before getting back to ES/FO. And ES VI would be next in the rotation anyway.
I'm still holding out for a surprise Starfield announcement.

I really want to enjoy Bethesda games but the way the camera moves and the UI just makes me feel sick - I'm kinda hoping a new engine may right this though I'm not going to put too much hope on it.

Trailer at EA-Play, game drop in November/December this year, Bethesda style. (It bears repeating that I do believe in magic! ) I find this idea exhileraating and terrifying all at the same time.

Honestly, I don't particularly want them to remaster DAO or DA2. Unless as Nightscrawl suggested they use that opportunity to incorporate the Keep with those older games. But any time spent on making DAO look shinier is time not spent on DA4... And given my druthers I'd rather they focus their efforts on new stories.
