In another thread Silversmurf said he had the best build for the Necro but we all know he is just a noob who has no idea what he is talking about So a few alternatives here. I use these builds: Necromancer #1Necromancer #2(same as #1, just replaced Winter's Grasp with Energy Barrage) Necromancer #3(I know most don't use Blizzard. Compared to other abilities its damage is not that great but I think it is not totally bad and fun to play) Necromancer #4(Don't forget to kill your Spirit Mark when the zone is done and don't use it on Treasure Room guardians, please ^^ ) I am not saying they are all very good or most effective but they are fun to me and I simply wanted to provide a few builds for other players. I think no matter how you build and play your Necro she should always have upgraded Walking Bomb and Death Siphon. Note: Detonating Walking Bomb manually does not trigger the virulence(the W.B. upgrade, not the passive ability) effect.

My favorite agent. I use two rotations similar to yours #1 & #4 builds. I think no matter how you build and play your Necro she should always have upgraded Walking Bomb and Death Siphon. QFT

Walking bomb is definitely her signature ability...I wear enhanced walking bomb ring on her now and kinda like it. As mentioned in the other thread I mainly use build #1, sometimes #4. Build #3 with both fade cloak and fade step seems interesting to try especially now I wear PI on NONE of my agents. As for #2, got to admit I've never used Energy Barrage on any of my mages. Does it work as a eldritch detonator like it's described in the tooltips? I'm not sure if immolate works as detonator either cuz I've rarely seen any combo effects it made. I think once when I used it on a sleeping enemy it detonated nigthmare. But there were a lot of things going on I could not be sure if it was coming from immolate or maybe another templar's spell purge.

Energy Barrage works well as detonator but it takes too much time for the first projectile to hit the target unless you are standing right in front of it.
Immolate can not detonate frozen targets but sleeping and stunned. Don't forget that the base idea of the combos for DA was the combination of abilities from different classes, not the best idea though.

from what I know Eldritch detonator is like the weakest of all three. Warrior's stun + eldritch detonator = weakness, not of much use because several agents already have the passive of weakening enemies. But it's good to know that energy barrage/immolate can cause nightmare combo on sleeping foes. I'm intrigued to try this next time when I run into an AW or keeper in game.

Immolate can detonate frozen targets for basic combo (double fire damage). Pommel Strike -> Mighty Blow works same way for warriors (double physical damage).

Spirit Mark was always a way to regain health and/or revive yourself good for nothing else. The DoT is not the best (even after they made it critable). The Minion does no real damage, its abilities (like knockdown) can be helpful though. Not to forget about the players who do not kill the minion if it's the Treasure Guardian or last enemy of the zone. I promoted the Necromancer more than 80 times and if I remember correctly I used Spirit Mark not more than twice But I like your video very nice

Interesting. The video mentions you can turn minions off to get whatever health is left. That I never knew. I thought you always got the same amount as the HoK you have equipped. I probably never found that out because I always left minions expire naturally when I used spirit mark.

The benefits are that they give you health depending on your HoK as they kill or when they expire or you release them.

If you want a minion to do more than just serve as a health reservoir, it is helpful to Spirit Mark the various Assassin-types (Stalkers, Shadows, etc.), or Bolters, as the AIs of these have them actively seek out enemies to attack.

I promoted the Necromancer more than 80 times and if I remember correctly I used Spirit Mark not more than twice I have about five more completed missions for the necromancer accomplishment, and I never have. I promise to try it this time.

The Minion does no real damage, its abilities (like knockdown) can be helpful though. Minions of Brutes, shield guys, shocktroopers are somewhat useful because of knockdown abilities. Bears and druffy are awesome for this. Giants are useless though as they don't seem to move at all when marked. Nice BGM in the video. It has quite a rhythm going with the arrows darkspawn shot at you. Spirit Mark doesn't do a lot of damage but it's fun in a comical way. I'm always amused by someone as a necro who can self-revive themselves 10+ times in one game.

I just decided to get back to the basics and have enjoyed playing the stripped down version. Fair enough. She does have many interesting skills and the only one I have never used is Flashfire...but no matter the build walking bomb is always a must-have for me on necro. The chain explosion and meat chunks covering the ground afterwards are too much fun to give up.
