Storm, but I'll probably play Ranger because I like to suffer while everyone plays the more fun classes.

Colossus and/or ranger. Stealthy rogue types the interceptor don't appeal to me much, and I hate space magic being in an otherwise technology based UP. I HOPE they have a good explanation for that. Really though, I hope we eventually see a javelin designed around constructs and support (creating shields/force fields, deploying drones and constructing turrets). That would for sure be my perfect javelin. Not sure about the drones/turrets but my impression is that each class of javelin will have enough flexibility with augments and loadouts that picking one won't restrict you entirely to a predefined style, i.e. the Colossus doesn't have to be just a tank. I like the idea of a drone...especially if I can get a recon version to scout out enemy encampments...fortifications, turret positions, and whatnot. Yea I'm looking at parallels between anthem and other class based shooters, where your class defines playstyle but not so much that you're locked into one role. E.G. in destiny 1/2, you werent a tank just because you picked titan, and you werent a stealthy rogue just because you picked hunter (oddly enough, despite the fact that I normally do not like/play stealth classes, hunter was always my main throughout D1 and D2, because I liked the western duster gunslinger style of character). I used to play another game by hi-rez studios called global agenda, maybe you've heard of it. In that game, there were four character classes: Assault, Recon, Medic, and Robotics. Assault was your 'colossus' - big, heavy armor, and a focus on heavy weapons (miniguns, grenade/rocket launchers, etc). They tended to be the tanks or at least the forward fighters. Recon were stealthy snipers/smg users or occasionally melee. Medics, obviously, were there to heal allies (but they could also poison enemies). Robotics was my preferred class in the game, and was kind of a jack of all trades, but they got their versatility through drones, high tech gear, and turret emplacements. You could plant down gun, flamethrower, or rocket turrets at choke points and they would really help cover your rear or cut down enemies. You had a variety of drones with different effects (grizzly drone was like a mini-assault player, very tanky with a minigun, while the harrier drone was a flying recon-like sniper). You could also build little 'stations' that would provide area effects for your teammates: healing stations to restore health, power stations to restore energy, sensor stations to detect invisible enemies and boost team damage, etc. Lastly, they could create force field walls or domes to block enemy fire. All those abilities made my perfect kind of character: a tool for every situation. I know they've said that there is a (hopefully high) possibility for adding additional javelin types in the future, so if we get a say I think a construct-support javelin would be amazing. Some of the abilities are pretty straightforward: A recon drone that shoots from your back straight up into the air and hovers in place, marking/highlighting enemies and providing weak point info or increased awareness of enemy reinforcements. A turret that can be deployed to cover a firing arc and gun down approaching enemies, allowing you to keep your focus elsewhere while it guards your back, or alternatively provides additional suppression fire on enemies in your line of sight. A forcefield generator - maybe a wall or a dome/sphere shape - that protects you and allies within it from damage. A repair station that heals you and your allies when you remain close to it. There's a lot of possibilities.

Really though, I hope we eventually see a javelin designed around constructs and support (creating shields/force fields, deploying drones and constructing turrets). That would for sure be my perfect javelin. I know it doesn't seem that way, at least initially and with the clunky-tech atmosphere we see this E3, but I believe Mass Effect is still (and don't laugh) the 'science' (technology, fiction) based IP, where Anthem is actually meant to be the 'superhero' and 'magitech' IP. The Javelins may be very mechy, but this is all technology *derived* from 'the gods', and its possible that Bioware takes a decidedly less Mass Effect (or even DA, kinda) approach to the gods and makes them indeed divine, just with tools. What I mean is that I don't expect Bioware to even attempt to explain the technology in Anthem in real-life ways. I think it may be fluffy, and so they will bolster it with a more 'lore' approach ala Dragon Age instead. And with the 'superhero' reference I've seen them make, they may not no much further than how Marvel/MCU explains their technology - that is, they always explain less than even Mass Effect attempted.

Ranger for me to start with as it looks kind of middle of the road, then switching to something more tanky or faster depending on what I think I will enjoy more based on ingame experience.

I lean towards rogue generally, so Interceptor is the obvious choice. But honestly if I play this I'll keep an open mind.

We haven't seen much of them yet, but the Storm and Interceptor seem to be more aligned with what classes I generally pick. I'm likely going to solo the game, so we'll see how that goes.

Storm seems to be interesting, especially since it seems to be based on a different technology than the other 3. My theory is that Storm is based on that tech left by those "Creators" considering what we saw at the conference (warping, lightning etc) Ranger is interesting too and its the most "balanced" of all 4 so we will see how it will handle

It's been stated several times that the Ranger is the starting suit for everyone, you gain the others during the course of the game, then you can switch between them at will.

"You start with a ranger, which is a type of javelin with solid all-around capabilities. During the course of the critical path, you earn three more javelins:"www.gameinformer.com/feature/anthem/flying-to-a-new-frontierYes, that's where I'll start too...
Excellent by the way...

I will play as the class which has the highest michael bay possibilities.
Explanation: Normally, I like playing high risk, high reward characters. However, ME:A totally hoocked me on the sentinel's abilities to crowd control through continuous explosions. I got addicted to combo's. Hence, whatever Javelin gives me the greatest combo pleasure, I will use that (for now it looks like storm).
PS: I loved the human kineticist. It was both high risk/reward AND continuous combos. I'm hoping to be able to do something like that.

Which ever Javelin helps replicate the feel of the N7 Slayer, N7 Paladin, or the Asari Huntress. My favorite 3 ME3MP characters. Most likely that will be either Interceptor or Storm. But BW did say there will be more Javelins in the future which piques my interest a bit.

Storm. I'm interested in unlocking all of them, though! I just love lightning or electricity, especially in design and abilities, so the Storm javelin definitely caught my attention.

Prob stick with starter one till fully upgraded/lvled, whatever you do, then just do same with each, i'd need hands on to make a proper decision as to what i'd spend most time in although i could see me switching often as they all look fun

Ranger here. The average build appeals to me since the other three almost seem a bit too dramatic in their scope of play. Being able to flexibly do a variety of different things depending on the need sounds fitting. The cone shape face is too cool also. Lol.
Storm immediately comes off as the obligatory twinky wizard space magic class. I rarely ever play the flashy classes because I value raw hard earned strength over everything else.
Interceptor comes off as the agile, quickish roque class. Another class I rarely play mainly because speed of the actions get me all disorientated. It also doesn't align with my personality. *shrug* the slick neon lime green on white is nice though.
Colossus grabs my attention too, I like its brute strength and incredible show of force as it dominates the area around it. However, I get intense vibes that it might become a tank. I'm not a huge fan of being a meat shield while everyone else goes off doing the fun attacks. So I'm hesitant here.
