Hold up. LACE HAS MAGIC POWERS!? Harding, the dwarven scout, returns to the fray as a companion with her big heart, a positive outlook, and a ready bow – as well as unexpected magical powers. What?!? Why?!?  I am a Harding fan but i think that´s a mistake and will give Harding critics / haters more ammo against her. Is Manfred maybe our a 8 companion? Not really but more of a sommon

The more i think about her i would prefer Calpernia over her. Sorry but atleast i been honest here. She could still feature. This is just about actual team members. I liked Neve in Tevinter Nights and it wasn't a total surprise seeing as she featured in concept art and the latest comic series. |

Is Manfred maybe our a 8 companion? Not really but more of a sommon As I've said, probably a bit like Dog in DA2. Likely he only protects Emmerich. I am a Harding fan but i think that´s a mistake May be she is going to be the one with the magic bow. |

So, there are 3 male and 4 female companions: Davrin male elf (has pointy ears in main promo shot) Lucanis male human Emmerich male human Harding female dwarf Bellara female elf Neve female human Taash female qunari Well the guys certainly can't complain about variety among the female line up.  I'm happy there is at least one male elf and he's a good guy. |

Davrin is an Elf. A Dalish Grey Warden (he has a vallaslin)

Davrin is an Elf. A Dalish Grey Warden (he has a vallaslin) I know, I went back and corrected it after I saw the big promo shot. That's good. At last a tough looking elf like the Dalish should be. |

I assume that we can´t rule out Emmerich and of course Manfred as romance options? Maybe you can form a throuple with them. Based on Tevinter Night, I doubt Manfred has enough awareness for it to count. He can carry stuff around and make tea thought.

Reaction to Trailer: My partner noticed it's the companions that get the "Name in lights" treatment, which means Scout Harding is a Companion but not Varric (thank goodness.) - Scout Harding is gorgeous with the update - Neve looks like a native (new to me) - Lucanis is our Antivan Crow from the book - Bellara (sigh) I mean, they did introduce the idea that people playing with Fade Magic go a little crazy in DAI but my first reaction is dislike. - Emmrich the necromancer looks like he's 60. Which I'm fine with, fewer starry eyed impossibly skilled babies the better. - Davrin the male elf Warden, I'm on board. Which we'd gotten more of his voice in this. - CONFIRMED baby Griffin  - Taash is... a female Qunari who likes fighting dragons so that seems very Iron Bull until we get more details. - Then our playable character who looks like a double weapon wielding non magic man, but they tried their best to keep them ambiguous The background narration, "What about Darkspawn?" Hyuck, sounds like line enunciated by Goofy from Disney. And the choice in music is bad. |

Maybe the'll have a known origin, but sex, class, race? seem likely to be at players' discretion.
