He coaches? I thought he is just the water boy. Steve Kerr played in an NBA that still had defense, toughness, and strategy. He also knows how to deal with big egos... The Bulls had them. Coaching NBA players is for chess masters. He is one. Also:  Experience matters. Eh, you could put anyone out there for the Warriors and they would win games. You can have the greatest coach in the world, but if you don't have the players then what's the point? Coaching is way more important in College basketball however. |

KG, Pierce & Allen started the trend tbf, but both of those instances weren't as extreme as this. The Boston trio I allowed because we were talking about 3 aging players at that point. Best believe I gave LeBron & the Heat hell during his time at Miami, because I thought that was lame (still do). None of those situations was a player of KD's ability joining an already loaded 73 win team. I could understand him not wanting to stay with Russ in Oklahoma, but to leave for the team you couldn't beat? Disgusting. |

It's funny having you tell me how NBA coaching works, when you can't remember recent NBA history properly. Have you ever played in competitive sports at the collegiate level? College kids are 1) kids 2) full of energy 3) not educated. So, 4) they need lots of teaching, coaching, fundamentals. Pro basketball coaching is about 1) getting grown men to get along 2) paying attention to the clock and the situation so that 3) you can manage the game and give your players their best chance to do their thing. In other words, you're out of your element, Donny. |

I'll get killed by the hard core BBall fans for this but the NBA has morphed into 3 pointers, traveling and uncalled offensive fouls. It simply is not entertaining in most games. GSW won the championship in 2014-15 and in the regular season of 2015-16 73 games WITHOUT Kevin Durant. And in the history of the NBA there are a lot of examples of All Stars joining other All Stars teams but never of this caliber (Barkley to Hakeem’s Houston Rockets comes to mind). But this GSW team is much too loaded, more like the original Dream Team than a normal NBA roster. As for Steve Kerr’s coaching he took them to a championship in 2015 without KD; plus he’s respected by Pop and his other peers: that about says it all... |

Kawhi gone to the Raptors. Good trade for the Spurs not so much for the Raptors. Awful trade for the Raptors. Derozan is a quality player and they gave up too many other resources. Leoanrd is really good.....when he plays...which is not often enough and he will be gone in fa next year. Just brutal. As a Spurs fan, it kinda hurts. I was hoping Boston would be willing to give up some of their young pieces, but that was always going to be a pipe dream given the situation. That said, at least we get another all star. Seems like a dumb move for the Raptors though, unless they think they can pull a PG13 sticking with OKC. There's no evidence Kawhi will be the same player either. Oh well. |

DeMar DeRozan has got to be one of the most overrated players in the NBA. He's a poor defensive player, and offensively he's extremely inefficient. He's a dinosaur with how the NBA game is played now. Sure there is injury risk with Leonard but if there wasn't he wouldn't be a Raptor at the moment. They were going to have to rebuild in two years anyway (even with DeRozan), now they'll likely be rebuilding in one. And they've gotten a whole heck of a lot better with the trade, but what that means in the crappy Eastern Conference is anyone's guess.

He's got some cojones that's for sure. But to be fair the Raptors were in perfect situation to go for it, with a collection of talented players that most of which were not long term assets. And also they had clearly shown that they weren't good enough to beat the premier teams in the league. The perfect melding of risk and reward.
