elcor and hanar would make good heroes for a future Mass effect game Indeed, if anything a greater focus on these two species would go a long way in making up for how badly they were snubbed in the series so far. Anything other than yet more Krogan story lines would be most welcome at this point; we get it you're an oppressed warrior people and nobody likes you, blah blah BORING. Besides, if one actually stops to consider the background of these two overlooked aliens it should be the Elcor one should worry about angering instead of a Krogan. Evolving on a world with five times the gravity of any other major species in the Milky Way would mean that the Elcor could literally rip a person in half with their bare hands if they were so inclined. In fact, Garrus makes mention of an Elcor serial killer operating on the Citadel back in the first game that invokes images of just that when he talks about how the victims were in pieces following discovery. What's more an Elcor should be able to 'leap' dozens of feet into the air of any 1G environments with a simple flex of his or her leg muscles. Even if they only adapted to slow, methodical movements on Dekunna, any Earth-like gravity would be only one fifth of what they evolved in. To me, the Elcor always struck me as gentile giants, always having to be cautious they didn't apply their full strength to the world around them in fear that they would break it. Screw having yet another Krogan companion, I want to go adventuring with an Elcor in the next game, if playing as one is not on the table. I think what would be the biggest downfall of anyone fighting an elcor would be underestimating how fast they can move. We just don't get enough time to witness them move in a hurry though they can move at a decent speed like on the Citadel in ME2 and Harret in Omega. One thing I did think they'd be excellent for would be interrogation. If every minute facial expression is a fireworks display of emotion to an elcor, who, but the most adept actor, can get a lie past them?

It's really disappointing how the later titles in the series equated the Elcor's slow, deliberate speech to them being collectively stupid or dimwitted when, in reality, they spoke that way for races, like humanity's, benefit.
