You got them all? Okay! In DA4, you have to sacrifice one of them to save Thedas. Who get's the axe and why? EXTRA QUESTION: If it was not shown and was unknown whether your sacrifice is actually dead or not, and there was an actual chance they could bounce back all heroic, would your decision on who to sacrifice change at all?
Some rules to make it more fun: 1. If one of your favorites is already dead, you have to choose from the two others who are alive. If two of your favorites are already dead, then the third is sacrificed instantly (how does that make you feel, please comment on it). If all of your favorites are dead, well, Thedas blows up, and I don't think you'll mind. 2. If you don't choose one to sacrifice, everyone dies.
I'll start. My Inquisitor, Iron Bull and Varric. My Inquisitor wouldn't sacrifice themselves for Thedas, no, and he deserves happiness after what he went through. Iron Bull, while my Inquisitor and him aren't dating, he is still my favorite romance out of all the romances. I have a bit of a hard time letting go of my favorite Bull, unless there's a totally awesome gay romance in DA4. So because he is my one and only, I'll keep him. So that means Varric gets the axe. He is a good friend and I love him, but it would be kind of dope seeing Varric be super heroic. It would be especially bittersweet if you sacrifice both Hawke AND Varric, like damn. So yeah, sorry Varric, you need to go! Favorite Warden: My Tabris warrior Favorite romance: Leliana Favorite companion: Aveline Who gets the axe? None. If that kind of question is forced, Thedas isn't worth saving. Let it all BURN! Extra question: No, a faceless torso would not convince me otherwise.

I don't really import characters into the Keep, and you could possibly even make DAI acknowledge your unorthodox choices because Keep story flags are kept in your save file and there is a save editor for DAI. I haven't tried it, but it should be technically possible. The Keep and DAI both handled my headcanon Hawke really well. I didn't like playing DA2, but it's a great story into which to insert an interesting character. My headcanon Hawke never cooperated with Meredith, and was in fact the person responsible for blowing up the Chantry. Anders was simply the patsy. Varric knows the truth, but he's part of the cover-up so he maintains the story that Anders did it. In the Keep, I just recorded the story as Varric tells it (knowing it to be false), and then in DAI the conversations between Varric and Hawke take on a ton of subtext.

Given the revelation that Varric knew all along how to contact Hawke, I'd say Varric's tale being a complete fabrication is a totally reasonable path to take.

Hawke, Isabela and Loghain. Loghain gets the axe, the Hero of River Dane can redeem himself for the good of Thedas.

Given the revelation that Varric knew all along how to contact Hawke, I'd say Varric's tale being a complete fabrication is a totally reasonable path to take. It was even better because I constructed this headcanon before playing DAI for the first time, so I really had no reason to expect it to work (though I like to hold these games to a high RP standard), but it totally did. I got to play a unique playthrough. That's what RPGs should do. Two people can play the same game and come away with completely different impressions of what the game was. Consecutive playthroughs can be radically different. Linear games with pre-set protagonists never offer that.

Hmm. I haven't play DA origin or DA2 so my answers will only be based on DAI
Favorite protagonist - Inquisitor, reaver warrior & rift mage Favorite romance - Dorian Favorite overall companion - (this one is so difficult...ummmm...) Cole or Bull for their banters or Cassandra since she's my 2nd toughest warrior that saves the inquisitor's ass and is always prepared to be sacrificed.

I'll choose my female, dwarf, archer Warden for the protagonist. My favorite romance is The Iron Bull, but my canon didn't romance him. If that removes him from the category, then I will choose Leliana. Even with the additional question, I stand by my original choice. However, I am considering making my dwarf Warden an Andrastian convert, and having my dwarf Inquisitor faithless instead of a faithful Herald, thus making my canon romance Iron Bull after all.

Favorite protagonist: Hawke. All Hawkes are awesome.
Favorite romance: Alistair. He died in my romance playthrough. So I can't sacrifice him now even when he's not dead in canon?
Favorite companion: Dorian? That's a tough one. I also love Cassandra and Varric.
If I had to choose between Hawke and Dorian... gosh, maybe my diplomatic Hawke would die for the right cause. I would cry my eyes out but can't be worse than the Alistair tragedy.

Favorite protagonist: either Emily Hawke or Riya Lavellan Favorite romance: Zevran, Isabella and Iron Bull Favorite companion: Varric
I would never ever sacrifice my own characters, whic hmeans hands off my Hawke and Lavellan. And Varric is out of the question too, no one hurts Varric on my watch, so that means either Zevran, Isabella or Iron Bull have to go

Hawke, Nathaniel Howe, either Josephine or Sebastian.
I would push the romances off a cliff.
Though technically I'm fairly likely to sacrifice my favorite protagonist. I'm a sucker for a tragedy and heroic deaths.

Favorite Protagonist: My Grey Warden/s
Favorite Romance: Cullen
Favorite Companion: toss up between Dorian and Zevran
I'd probably sacrifice my warden and hope to be avenged by my team.
