I'm not seeing what PS4 is missing. We get all the same stuff minus the discounts.... That you pay for. I wouldn't want that anyway since bioware games are the only ea games I buy. I'm happy, please take my money.

I'm happy, please take my money. PS4 doesn't have EA Access so you don't get the 10 hour free trail. It's a subscription service where you can play EA's entire catalog as well.

Who wants to bet on whether or not they embargo reviews until release day again so people shell out money for Access? Fool me once EA!

It's not free. You are paying for it. I just meant it's part of the service and the main draw is you can play EA's catalog of games.

I won't be taking that bet because Mark Darrah said it was a mistake. "I certainly think it was a mistake to have the review embargo lift AFTER the early access hit"

Well, with staggered releases being THE thing now - they'll have to settle with some date. If it's already out there for people to see there is little point in trying to silence critics. Someone won't give a fuck and do anyway.

Someone won't give a fuck and do anyway. It'll have to be February 15th then, to get in ahead of the shitposting, but arguably with the Demo out on the 1st, if there are issues (which I hope there aren't) the cat will be out of the bag anyway.

"I certainly think it was a mistake to have the review embargo lift AFTER the early access hit"It's nice to see it acknowledged by someone at BWEA, but does Mark have the final say so on the review embargo dates? I would think that decision is made up the ladder on the EA side.

The table has been updated to include the VIP and Open Demo. makes it look like the origin access premier option would be best especially since it normally gets all the dlc for free as well (and its a bioware games so there will be dlc) not to mention also getting access to everythign else, hell for the price of less than one game you gain access to nearly every game they host.... or if you prefer the monthly fee for the price of a DLC a month you gain access to everything … wonder if my kids are feeling like paying for their old man to play games instead of read books all day …..

It's very attractive if you play enough and you can mentally cope with the notion of 'renting' your games rather than 'kind of owning them'.

If you really need to "own" a copy you can always pick it up on sale later. The premier deal is very good if you're thinking of buying at least two games new from EA every year. For me it amounts to at least 40 % off.

If you really need to "own" a copy you can always pick it up on sale later. The premier deal is very good if you're thinking of buying at least two games new from EA every year. For me it amounts to at least 40 % off. its a pretty good deal if your just buying one game, DAI set me back 70 quid and the dlc were a tenner each all told I spent 120 on "owning" dai, MEA was another 70 although I was saved from dlc by them canning the game..... shame since despite the children look the game play wasn't bad and the story was kinda cool, on top of that I also bought 3 other games that are listed in the premier pack last year (although I got them for discount prices via steam sales) so really the question isnt so much is it good value as it is how long do I pay for that access for, like I already have hundreds of games in my steam library and over 2 dozen in the origin library I might even play some of hte kid games if I get super bored or the wait for the next book release is killing me, besides I have EA access on xbox for one of the kids becasue its cheaper than buying the little gremlin all the games that he will cease playing a week after getting them to move on to something else... it isnt really a question of value for money I likely wont go back to the game in the future once I move on to something else and unless eaware devote a complete studio to maintaining the game and bringing out expansions every year anthem isnt going to be a long running thing its going ot be like their other games, good for a year or two and then something else will come along, of course if they hook up wiht CDPR then it will be a no brainer to get the premier given all the games there putting forth in the next 2 years and on top of that da4 is coming out in 2020 so theres every chance I will be paying a monthly sub for several years, and if I get bored of it then it will go the same way as every other under used sub has before it, stopped in favour of something else... doubt KU will ever have the problem though since I share it with the wife and one of us is always reading on it

The good news is that I don't care.
Sony wants exclusiveness, like Amazon's or Disney's streaming services. As a consumer, I won't subscribe to different streaming services to view exclusives.... that is madness. Subscription services are also anathema to me.
Yeah, I have Origin Access but that is because of my DA + ME games. Will I get the demo? Nah.... I'll wait for the reviews + 20%+ off the sale price. ME:A was worth my $39.00.
MEA was worth my 17 bucks as well.
As for Anthem, I consider utter madness to pre-order anything, specially after all that's happenned since ME3 days.

okay so my plan: Play the open demo. If I don't like it -> wait until discount to buy. If I like it -> get EA access for 1 month, preorder game, play 10 hour demo, evaluate if I still like it. If I dont like it anymore -> cancel preorder, Wait until discount to buy. If I still like it -> cancel EA access after 10 hours is up. Glee in anticipation of Feb 22.

My plan - I have an yearly sub for Origin Premier. So like it or not I get the game anyway, might try it in order to milk the sub for all it's worth 😂

After several days consideration I've decided to cancel my pre-order. There are many reasons for this as I have other concerns in the new year that take priority over a game. I also can't justify spending NZ$120.00 on a game I might end up barley playing. I might just pick up Anthem at a later date Real Life concerns permitting Though I will most definitely be playing the open demo in February

Two things:
1. I have my VIP demo code from GameStop, that I am to enter into the EA site and select my console, and it's to spit out a code for me to download the demo on my console. Yeah, entering my GameStop code just sits there and spins endlessly instead of giving me my PS4 code. Anyone else experiencing that issue?
2. I'm actually a bit torn on my feelings. On the one hand, I want to play the demo because it sounds like it will give some peeks into things we didn't see in the closed alpha and I wanna play more Anthem. But on the other hand, I'm ready to PLAY Anthem and have my progress save and such. I'm not sure I really want to play again when all that will be wiped clean once more before launch. Hmph.
