@hrunger, I don't want to update it in case you're in there, I have an additional" - You cannot solo Strongholds but you do not need to do strongholds to complete the story. [Source]
- For most people you'll need a team of four to push through it. That is definitely an end-game style of adventure. Suggests that soloing Strongholds may become an elite player challenge. [Source]
Hmm, I'm going to need Mark to confirm that. There were at least a couple of times I heard that you are required to have a team of 4 to tackle strongholds. I don't want to get people's hopes up unless we're sure this is possible... I just re-read it and this is the very next Q&A: Q: Can everything in the game be played solo? Mike Gamble: All the story content in the game can be played solo - the critical path, sidequests, all those things. Things like Strongholds are four player adventures.

1. Seamless and intelligent matchmaking will ensure you can quickly and easily find other players to adventure alongside
Ok. This sounds confident, and that would be welcome.
2. Anthem is a world without microchips and a world without mass production
Hmmm. Are there philosophers who wonder how things work, and why? Very Star Warsy, not sci-fi but sci-fantasy, which could be good. Needs moar info.
3. Part of the mystery of the whole IP is: Where did this stuff come from?” Gamble says. “Where did the Scarscome from? Where did that giant Titan creature come from?
This will be as good as its implementation. If that Scarscome appeared from nowhere silently and that is not an intended behavior, welp.
If things work as actually intended, this could be pretty cool.
4. Post-Launch Updates: They will range from small things, like adding a couple of lines of dialogue to a certain NPC, up to adding in new characters, areas, missions. Part of the large investment in Anthem is the ability to continue telling new stories for as long as we want.
This one bugs me. It seems like an easy out to me, storytelling-wise. There doesn't need to be any real grand plan or scheme or even clue of where they want to go... If they can produce a compelling end-game content for the product at launch, that will be sufficient I suppose but still I am left chittering my cheek feathers in mild Turian discomfort.
5. “But even yourself, you’re able to pull off some combos. If you’ve frozen something, and then you detonate that with a missile or a melee strike, you’re going to get some cool combo bonuses
This is good. Co-op combos sounded cool too.
I kind of look forward to sucking at this game...

Copy/pasted your Twitter post here as a reminder to add to OP. This was a good hands-on video because they actually go over their gameplay in detail. - You have a regenerating shield (they were playing the Ranger) that has to be brought down before your Javelin will take real damage (which does not regenerate). - Health drops seem to come only from enemy kills, and one of their concerns was that because your health does not regenerate, you can enter combat with just a sliver of health and you have to kill stuff in order get that health orb. - Apparently the trash mobs are not bullet sponges, and they're there for you to roll over fairly easily and feel powerful. But the elites and bosses definitely do have more health. - They were surprised that the graphics in the hands-on demo were actually better than in their trailers (textures, light quality, etc.). In the Spider-balls boss fight, there's apparently a ton of cool particle effects that we didn't see in the trailer. - Apparently Spider-balls can trap you in webs (if you don't dodge or block it), requiring someone else to rescue you. I seem to remember someone else saying the Colossus' shield will block them. Plus the usual adds.

The bit about multiple profiles is a bit confusing - unless I misunderstand what is meant by "profile". Based on context, I was assuming it refers to a single account/player running more than one freelancer - different gender, make different story decisions, whatever.
This sort of muddied the waters for me:

I surprised myself how much I've grown to like doing group activities in ESO to a point that most of my time in game now is spent running dungeons and raids with friends, guildies or PUGs. I'm not excluding the possibility that I will like group activities in Anthem too (if I end up getting it). So if you folks would need a carry...

I've grouped a little in SWTOR but only with a person I knew so it was fun. Though Rose and I spent way more time chatting to each other than playing the game In ESO I've been in the odd delve to nab the Skyshard and there's usually other players doing the same thing so you naturally end up helping each other kill the mobs It's fun.

Based on context, I was assuming it refers to a single account/player running more than one freelancer - different gender, make different story decisions, whatever. This sort of muddied the waters for me: Yeah, that is confusing. Some platforms, like EA Origins, do allow you to have multiple profiles for a single account. I'm pretty sure I've had two since the beginning of time. The profile might be aligned to platform, e.g., one for PC and one for PlayStation, but meh. One pilot per account would rule out what the original questioner wanted -- a different character for son, self and friends. And if profiles remain tied to platform and given no cross-platform play, same problem. Might have to buy the game three times to do that ... Unless by "account" they mean console user. That's different. Most games on my PlayStation are available to all members of my family, and we each have separate user logins, though there's only one "owner" account what pays the moneys.

Hrungrwww.eurogamer.net/articles/2018-06-11-the-big-bioware-interview-the-response-to-anthem-and-the-future-of-mass-effectOh, I found this tidbit about "live service" in the same interview. I hadn't seen this before: "How will Anthem's world change? Mike Gamble: We have systems which support live content of all different types and sizes. Small things - we can add a couple of lines of dialogue to a certain NPC, [up to] adding in new characters, areas, missions. Part of the large investment in Anthem is the ability to continue telling new stories for as long as we want. Instead of having to wait - like with our older DLCs, it would be every three or four months at least before we released a big pack of content. We want to do that different this time." That's the most detail about live service I've seen.

“The encounters are set up for four players,” says lead producer Ben Irving. “That’s where the fun is, and they’re built with that teamwork in mind.” [ Source] I only just noticed this. Thank god Ben didn't say that's 'it's exciting'. He might have actually learned something after the virtual lynching he got for using that phrase one too many times during the SWTOR Galactic Command fiasco.

Anthem is aiming to be the "HBO series of games". There’s the gameplay and the missions to do, but the context is always changing. There’s always a new narrative situation that evolves over time. To keep players engaged BioWare wants to ease players’ return after a long absence. “In the HBO premise, they will choose at different times, like after a holiday hiatus, they’ll do a ‘last time on Game of Thrones’ thing. I think we’ll end up doing things like that to get you caught up on things going on.” [ Source] That's going to feel really strange. You haven't played Anthem in awhile for whatever reason and the first time you log in and bamn you get forcefully caught up on what's changed? I guess it's a necessary evil of the 'living world' thing they seem to be obsessed with. But talk about an immersion killer. And taking the game at your own pace? That seems to have just been killed off. I can go weeks and even months in some cases and not touch TOR or ESO yet when I do go back I can pick up right where my character left off... Hmm...

So, what is the advantage of playing co-op vs solo (other than Strongholds and other special areas)?

Missions (quests) are designed for a squad. You can solo them, but there will be less opportunities for combos, less ability specific short cuts (similar to how a rogue in the party can pick locks to spring an NPC from a cell, without the rogue your have to go fight the guards), and probably will just take longer because you have to do everything yourself. Personally I like the challenge of beating their designed-for-squad missions solo. It’s like adding an additional difficulty level above Insanity/Nightmare.

This guy was flown in and flight + meals + hotel paid by EA.
Note ** This guys describes the game play but he felt like an EA Anthem advertising agent. He did not reveal anything about the 3rd and 4th Javelin suits. A super fan from the start, imo
EDIT: Off the bat, EA would not allow him to play with a KB and had to use an Xbox controller.
No KB+M, no bang. Ever.

No KB and mouse? This is nothing new for EA playtests and demos (for any game). There is some reason behind it, but I can't remember what it was... It doesn't mean the game won't support KB&M at launch (it will).

Q: I noticed in the gameplay footage that the Ranger's heat bar continued to rise slowly while hovering but the Storm's did not, is this indicative of a suit mechanic or the pilot skill progression difference? A: That’s based upon the suit. [ Source] Q: Is there a day/night cycle? A: Yes. [ Source]
