If you played the Interceptor, but had issues with the feedback, balance, or responsiveness with the Javelin, the games developmental manager (Camden) made some comments regarding changes they made to it for both launch and afterwards.

"2. Spark Dash and Venom Spray targeting towards reticle rather than javelin facing. Pretty sure this was addressed but haven’t seen it specifically myself in action." - Crossing my fingers this was addressed. At least half my VS attacks missed because of this.

MISC.▲ You may enable 'aim assist'. [ Source] Can anyone who has played the demo (preferably on console) elaborate on this? Is it on by default? Can it be turned off? How noticeable is it? Anthem seems more interesting to me than I thought it would but I'm still fairly ambivalent. So if the aim assist is anywhere near as obnoxious as Destiny's, for example, then I won't be buying this one.

There is so many options on the menu that that i had no idea this one even existed. But i also can't say i looked much on options apart from turning motion blur off, which didn't seem to work on Fort tarsis.

What We Learned From the AMAwww.reddit.com/r/AnthemTheGame/comments/ao5vse/what_we_learned_from_the_ama/Here's some info we are learning from the AMA on Twitter. (Edit: updated with all Q&As from all three devs). Mark Darrah No ability to do strongholds solo. They are constantly adjusting the economy to earn cosmetics in a reasonable amount of time. They are looking into not interrupting javelin startup animation. They are looking into spectator cam while downed, but not for launch. Swappable melee weapons not available at launch. Freeplay will not be increased to the same number of players as launch bay. No PvP at launch. They are looking into adding waypoints after launch. Will not be able to change visor colors at launch. No photo mode at launch but acknowledged this is widely requested. Cosmetics include armors, emotes, banners, vinyls, and a few more things in development. No comment on more javelins at this time. Mass salvage option available in vault. Loot tables are biased toward the javelin you are wearing. Story missions do not require matchmaking. Iron Man skins would require a deal with Disney. Companions are not being considered for Anthem. Console players will have look inversion. Pilot character customization will be limited to a pre-generated list. The inherent nature of the game means PS4 Plus and Xbox Live are required. Choose your pilot's look only at the beginning of the game. Cannot switch between 1st and 3rd person. Demo players do not keep gear. Romances not being added at this time. There is dynamic time of day in game. Helena Tarsis' javelin predated Colossus so that doesn't necessarily mean Colossus gets a sword. If you want to be thicc boi like Colossus, do 100 pushups, 100 situps, 100 squats, and run 10K. Story missions will all have matchmaking option. More open world activities will be added over time. Visor, thruster, shield, and dagger colors are being looked into. There have been may balance changes since the demo fork. You'll be able to choose the launch bay or Fort Tarsis after an expedition. Chad Robertson Loads will be faster on launch than in the demo. There is not a hard ending with credits. The story will be continuous and evolving. Sponsored/branded or event vinyls will likely be part of the game. Freeplay will not have a private session option AoE attacks will harm the cute Grabbits. That's the way it is. Save files can be carried over to next gen consoles. Drivers will be available for PC gamers to use controllers but it is not natively supported. They want to add more javelins in the future. Anthem will continue growing for years. Cataclysms are the aspiration content for teams, challenges, and top rewards. Plan on adding statistics to post expedition screen after launch. Ben Irving No training room. No locking equipment to prevent accidental deletion beyond the equipment equipped. Sprint speed increased in Ft. Tarsis, along with movement responsiveness and camera improvements. The issue in a stronghold when someone left with an objective (echo) and it stopped the team's progress has been resolved. Photo mode and weapon customization will not be added in the short term. Rather than a "vote kick", they are working on improving their AFK timers. Count on "raid level" content in the first year of the game. Teased the possibility of choosing ultimates down the line someday. Invites can be sent in game (but didn't really say if "join squad" would be an option). They are looking into other achievables like titles. Not looking at increasing freeplay squad more than 4 in the short term. A healer javelin is not likely because they focus on flexibility. You can uninstall the demo without fear of not getting your rewards for playing No loot boxes for cosmetics. Guilds will not have a private social space at the launch of guilds. Some activities will only be available for a set time but could come back around. There are no plans to allow loadout change in the field. Cannot upgrade weapons, you'll have to get another one. Bosses will not have unique drops at launch. Cataclysms will be aspirational, meaningful, challenging, and the place to earn the best rewards. Patch notes will only be for changes made after Feb. 15. If you get booted from an activity, you'll get all the XP and loot up to that point. No elemental weapons or bullets at launch. May add later but they won't do combos. Vinyl colors cannot be changed. Javelins will not favor a gender in appearance. No weapons beyond legendary at launch. Setting up primer and detonators are all about your team make up and the difficulty of the content.

I pretty much expected this answer considering how potentially close we are to the next console generation starting. Maybe once the new consoles drop, and you import your save over, the graphics in the game will look closer to what was shown at E3 2017 (btw. Never thought the actual game would look like that).

Story missions do not require matchmaking. Not this again! Even more confusion about the 'story content'?? Was the demo 'Mathias' mission not a 'story mission'? Had they forced the MP while in demo only? Or is it about a technical option to solo the MP-designed encounter?

Had they forced the MP while in demo only? Or is it about a technical option to solo the MP-designed encounter? The Matthias missions were the only part of the demo you could play solo by setting your privacy to "private" in the launch expedition screen (and ignoring the game's complaint about your choice). This prevented other players from joining your game. For free play and strongholds, Anthem automatically reset your Privacy choice to "public".

That, and Matthias' mission was likely a faction mission; not a main story mission.

One thing I knoew for sure about Anthem. No one has long hair. I know, I know. The "hair" thing again. But seriously I am starting to get worried about Bioware in this regard...after all these decades of game design and employee turnover, how is NO ONE able to design long hair!?!?! Why do we always have to have games filled with 34 variations of bald, 12 variations of hair buns, 10 variations of ponytails, Mohawks, buzz cuts, fades, anything and everything that makes hair short and immovable! I swear Bethesda and Bioware are among the only studios still struggling with this.
I know I know, online game, in ironman suits, hair dont matter etc etc...but it's still a troubleing "tradition" that I am so tired of, and I keep hoping with each new Bioware RPG, we finally get some decent hair.

It's not that no one can -- many DAI mods introduce long hair. It's just that they don't think it's an important feature. I think they'd be willing to consider adding it in the future, to DA4 as well, if the requests for it weren't conflated with a lot of stupid shit they find objectionable, like, all the NPC women in Bioware games are ugly or look like men or both. In fact, I suspect it's all that stupid shit that is pushing down the priority for long hair, because they may fear that adding long hair will be perceived as "caving" to the stupid shit.

Think of it liek this: If they make the cost to add long hair, how much people more will buy the game (that won't already buy it anyway). I reckon not that much.
Hence, unlikely it is a high priority.
That said, I am totally pro long hair. But it would be terribly dangerous entering a Javelin with it. What if it's stuck between the closure? O_O

I scanned the op and may have missed something, but any word what exactly the alliance system is? From the games lead producer (Ben Irving) on reddit: www.reddit.com/r/AnthemTheGame/comments/am7wx2/update_on_alliance_system_and_guilds/Additionally, here are some comments from the games senior systems designer Chris Schmidt (in that same thread): NotHere001
So if i am a solo player without friends on origin, am i screwed? BioChrisSchmidt
Not at all! We also reward you for playing with anyone else ('randoms'). This is represented by one bucket, which would take the place of a slot a friend would fill. Bcmaken
Can randoms fill up all 5 buckets? If not, why not? BioChrisSchmidt
No, we group all randoms into one bucket. This is primarily a technical limitation. For friends, we are tracking all of your relationships to them, and their relationships, and their relationships, etc, using a node graph database. It's just not possible to track the relationship of everyone you have played with, and everyone they have played with, etc etc to find the top 5 people for the week. So we limited the scope to friends which is still feasible, while providing what we felt to be a good compromise to those players who don't have as many friends who play Anthem with them.

Thanks for the info. It sounds horribly complicated and unnecessary. Basically, the game will add a bunch of people to the alliance list; but prioritizes your friends. The top 5 people in your alliance list, who have played the most for that entire week, will be selected and will end up determining how much of a coin payout you get.

Thanks for the info. It sounds horribly complicated and unnecessary. It's not complicated, they just don't explain it well. Every week, they rank all your friends XP earnings, whether you played with them or not, and the XP earnings of all the randoms you played with. Take the top 5. Add up all the earned XP of the top 5, applying a multiplier bonus for each friend, and that total translates to some amount of bonus COIN that you get for free. That's it. It's just an incentive to play with other people -- that's literally all you have to do. If you have friends that play, or you play with friends, you get a bonus multiplier. If you don't have friends or they don't play much, you still get a bonus from randoms. The only complexity is that they only allow randoms to take one slot in the top 5.

Huh, somethign I thought about: If you use quickplay to reinforce a mission, will you reinforce missions you haven't played yet accidentally? Or do you choose the mission to reinforce? Or does it only send you on missions you have already completed?

Huh, somethign I thought about: If you use quickplay to reinforce a mission, will you reinforce missions you haven't played yet accidentally? Or do you choose the mission to reinforce? Or does it only send you on missions you have already completed?
I was wondering that. During the demo I was happy to reinforce missions on Quickplay but only after I'd already solo'd them. I wouldn't want to do that if there was a chance of being inserted in missions I hadn't done yet.
