also I assume like with all Dragon Age things lately, you somehow need to read some books where she has more appearances to understand more. Not a book, just her short story which I assume is still available on the Bioware site but can be accessed via the Wiki. However, you get a fairly good hint that there is something more to her story in the sequences associated with the sub-quest to reveal what her true role as the "vessel" is going to entail. In fact, it was that which prompted me to read the short story and then later the entry in WoT2, which only really confirmed what could be found elsewhere.

Well my speculation and wish / hope hasn´t come true here unlike Lace Harding. Too bad because i still prefer her over Neve. But yeah its true what they saying: Sometime you win sometime you lose.

To be honest, Calpernia was always going to be a problem because of different world states. I don't mean relating to whether she was dead or not. That was always left open. However, if you do the mage path she never learns of Corypheus' betrayal. If you did the Templar path but failed to do her quest, she would not learn of it. If you did her path but chose not to reveal it to her and attacked instead, she did not learn of it. So, on balance she was more likely to be committed to his cause going forward, even if he was dead. So, the redemption arc wouldn't make much sense for many casual players. That said, she could still appear and even be an ally against the Venatori since it was heavily implied in WoT2 that the only reason the snooty Altus accepted her was because of Corypheus' recommendation. With him out of the picture they could well have turned on her. I certainly couldn't see her supporting the sort of Venatori we read about in Tevinter Nights, particularly if she heard about the Wigmaker's abuses of his slaves. So, I wouldn't write her off just yet.

To be honest, Calpernia was always going to be a problem because of different world states. I don't mean relating to whether she was dead or not. That was always left open. And that´s the only really problem for characters. You are aware that DAI and DAV there is a lot of years between there she could learn this. Visiting for some reason Erasthenes if alive or if dead find Corypheus memories. They could write her that way if they wanted her as companion. Obviously they won´t saw the appeal.

So Calpernia along with other (more) important DAI choices isn´t checked in Veilguard. Does this mean she isn´t in the game? Well i am not sure but i hope that Bioware more less recton her and making her always as a former Corypheus main supporter regardless if the player choose to support the mages in DAI instead. By the way i think that Samson on the other hand has died between Inquisition and Veilguard.

Well i am not sure but i hope that Bioware more less recton her and making her always as a former Corypheus main supporter regardless if the player choose to support the mages in DAI instead. Calpernia is never actually seen dead in game. The most you get is her jumping off the ledge into the waterfall, which was easily survivable. If you spare her she claims she was going to confront Corypheus but we see him very soon afterwards so likely she decided against it. On the mage path we never even get to meet her but she definitely survives because she is mentioned in codices. WoT2 also left her "death" ambiguous. So there was far more scope to have her return than for previous characters who "died" owing to our choices. That said, they could simply argue that she was killed by the Venatori once Corypheus wasn't around to shield her from them. I'm still hopeful that it will turn out she is the mysterious Viper who leads the Shadow Dragons and is now opposed to them. That would be a turnaround that I would enjoy. Incidentally, judging off the concept art pictures for Neve, it seems that originally she might have been a blond, so that is why there was a mage in the concept art for DAV that had blondish hair and we took to be Calpernia. Perhaps they changed Neve's look so she wouldn't just seem like Calpernia's clone.

So Calpernia along with other (more) important DAI choices isn´t checked in Veilguard. Does this mean she isn´t in the game? Calpernia is alive in all world states and used to work for Corypheus/be a leader in the venatori in all world states. Even if Corypheus' duplicity was not revealed to her during dai, the Altus members of the venatori likely wouldn't have suffered the slave freeing liberati in their leadership once he was dead. So I don't think it'd be necessary for her to have a CC choice unless her and the inquisitor were on screen at the same time.

Well it seems that Calpernia isn´t the game. Saw the german voice actor and actress list. No mention of Calpernia and her german voice actress. There is a tiny chance that Calpernia could be still in the game with another name and a different german voice actress but i doubt it. By the way no sure if this is really a spoiler or not because those two are so minor characters and Bioware still could use those names for new characters like for example Roderick. DAO has Ser Roderick Gilmore, DA2 Ser Roderick (the lyrium addict) and of course in DAI Grand Chancellor Roderick Asignon.
The german list has the names Heir and Fletcher in it. Heir is in DAI the Assasssin trainer and Fletcher is the guy. Again could mean nothing and just a coincidence. dragonage.fandom.com/wiki/Fletcher

Well it seems that Calpernia isn´t the game. Thought it was unlikely once they dumped the Keep and only included 1 choice from DAI and 2 from Trespasser. However, since she never actually dies in game, I was holding out hope she might be the Viper having turned on her old Venatori allies because she discovered what they were doing with red lyrium after Corypheus died. Still, in view of what they have done to returning characters, I'm honestly glad they left her out. Not yet seen Maevaris although it has been confirmed she is at least mentioned. However, having seen what they've done to Dorian and Isabella, I don't want any of the old characters back either in DATV or in the future.

It could be interesting what i think about wasted opportunities over the months and years but i have to wait what Neve is as a character. and if would have prefer Calpernia over her instead.
Maevaris Spoiler By the way Sten aka the new Arishok isn´t the game? Or is Sten-arishok no more? Or is the Antaam just now a faceless horde?

Yes, I saw. Look, I know she is years older now but seriously, the Maevaris of the comic series was literally Mae West, all glamour and sass. She was also a blond, natural I assume. What did they do to her? So add Maevaris to the list of returning characters I'd rather they'd not used.

Well obviously I haven't played the entire game but on the evidence so far, I would say the latter. I hope some satisfactory explanation is given for what happened to him and why the Antaam mutinied from Par Vollen but I'm not holding my breath on it.

From Page 142 of the Criticism Thread yarus posted this one post before yours. Therefore i thought you may know more about this. I also fear for the latter. Also it seems that the Black Divine and the current Archon also isn´t important. I couldn´t find anything about them.

I also fear for the latter. Also it seems that the Black Divine and the current Archon also isn´t important. I couldn´t find anything about them. Assumptions from what I have seen of the ending: Clearly Archon Radonis is no more because on the 100% ending Dorian becomes Archon. And people are running around the Divine's palace at ground level so presumably he was also dead or a corrupted thrall of Elgar'nan. There are some Imperial Templars who help the Veilguard (the ones who also joined the Shadow Dragons) At some point the Venatori do seem to have done a complete takeover of the city thanks to his backing.

I thought if I watched the endings I would discover more but, as I say, I don't recall anything like that. I did fast forward in a couple of places so I could have missed it. However, I watched through to the end of the credits, thinking it might be there, and there was nothing. If I discover more I'll come back and post it here.

I saw both versions but i don´t know what makes one over the other to the next Archon. Another case of them ignoring the law because WoT says that since the Black Age you can't be Archon if you are a Magister, although the Magisterium decides who they should be. Normally a relative of the previous one. Unless, of course, everyone was so corrupt in the leadership that Dorian/Maevaris were the only ones left standing. Perhaps Rook gets to decide which one fills the position.
