If they want a compromise, then have these major NPCs join in (perhaps based on story decision) for particular missions, and in ways reflecting earlier choices. And be very friendly to NPC usage in sidequests.
Like, if its just party member AI (as core combat design) that's an issue.
Just keep the journey. IMO the Anthem setup itself, even if it ends up quite fun next year, doesn't exactly sound fitting for any version of a ME/DA.
But frankly I would have liked the MEA companion combat if they just decided to do it closer to the trilogy. Feels like a stripped feature that didn't need to be stripped. And DA without party directions? Yikes. Even if they brought party size down to 3 from 4, its very hard for me to not want DA as a party-based game. For ME, I theoretically could tolerate just very immersive missions that involve characters more as setpieces that maybe I can customize the usage of ("Hey X, man that turret, then you'll go do your own thing, then I'll meet up and choose something regarding you" instead of "X is a fully customized character that always joins me wherever I go").

Can we go back on topic without the need to attack others? I dunno. I thought the microagression debate was more interesting than round 573 of "Bio's betraying its fans." True. Also, I don't usually troll, but inadvertedly did so, and am quite happy that it derailed this nonsense thread that we did 20.000 times before in the way it did.
That said. I personally was never offended (I care too little to be), people just assume I am and shoot their easy shots, which I do not fault them for. If roles were reversed, I might've done the same thing, probably. And it is the internet, after all. If one isn't allowed to troll another for a post which doesn't match your sheltered world-view, well, then what the hell was D-day all about ey?
But as someone else stated, if it had been a man, he would never have used dude or boy. That's all I'm saying. If people can't handle simple truths being spelled out anymore, well... Thanks Obama.

Bleh I’ll go to the Politics thread for that. Politics Thread is straight up aggression, not microaggression. A wretched hive of scum and villainy.

Back to the original topic, thanks.
If that can't be managed then the thread will be locked.

Well, to address the OP, I predicted something like this way back during ME3's development and their "Galaxy at War" was announced. Anthem is thus far proving to be a logical progression of the abandonment of SP-focused, narrative-heavy games that made Bioware famous to begin with.
Continue to see the focus shift more and more to this kind of game. The money's easier this way.
Maybe I should bookmark this post so I can say "I told you so" later...

Could ask Bethesda the same with their fo76 of which they probably dont know themselves whatit is about. They probably justwanted to do sth else and capitalize on their mild MP successes.

Companies are always evolving. Personally i dislike the direction of travel away from SP storytelling that appears to be happening at Bioware. I certainly won't be buying Anthem and time will tell whether any future meets my SP requirements to get me through the door to purchase.

If EA is where the game dev money is coming from then EA would need to be consulted for each project, yes. That's a given.
Bioware became a subsidiary of EA in 2007, so everything made post ME1 will have been signed off by EA.
That's not the same thing as EA driving Bioware down a particular route and it's a bit of a jump from "EA signed off on our idea" to "EA is making Bioware abandon it's fan base".
You raise some interesting points, but Bioware has been pretty forthcoming from the get go with Anthem, and it seems to be a labour of love for the most part.
It honestly looks like they're just bringing their expertise to a new genre, and that's nothing to be afraid of.
Lots of Bioware fans dislike MP and lots like it. It's obvious which fans will like Anthem and which won't. I don't, and Anthem isn't being made for me, but that isn't a bad thing.

Anthem is abandoning fans? News to me. I like SP narrative driven games where I have dialog options to drive that story. This is why I liked Bioware games in the past like KOTOR, Jade Empire, Mass Effect 1-3 and Dragon Age. Anthem is not a SP narrative driven game. Thus I have no intent to buy. Assassin's Creed Odyssey is more "Bioware" than Anthem is. Hell, even Red Dead Redemption 2 is more "Bioware" than Anthem in terms of NPC interactions/relationships and other stuff. If someone presented Anthem to you without telling you it was developed by Bioware, would you really come to the conclusion that Anthem is a Bioware game? If you are honest with yourself the answer would be no.
