Low: Landed on Rio Collectors Gold, wave 5, as a Krogan Sentinel with Graal. There was a Krogan Soldier and Warlord already there, along with an AIU. The Krogans didn't return headbutts, but that was only the start of my woes. I seemed to be the only one going after the wave 6 Targets, then I had to clutch wave 7 and practically solo wave 8. Wave 9 went smoother but we got Devices on wave 10 and the two pyjaks bled out before I'd even capped the first. The AIU and I kited the enemies away from the second (at least I was kiting, I think the AIU was just killing) though he ended up capping it. The third spawned by the EZ and I went and did it on my own, and then the last one spawned at the crate in the middle of the open area on the opposite side. The AIU ignored it but then did cover me while I capped it, but bled out as I was finishing it. I still had a missile left but only managed to take out one of the Praetorians, and my motivation level for finishing the wave was around zero as I knew it would take me longer than the extraction credits would justify, so while I didn't commit suicide as such, I didn't gel when a volley from one of the remaining Scions got me. I'd already used 4 gels and wasn't revived once. Mission Unsuccessful, but at least I could honestly say the credits were down to me more than the rest of them put together.
Lower: When we got back to the lobby the AIU host switched from U/U/G to Rio/Collectors, which I considered more than a little masochistic so I just quit. I faffed around for a bit and then searched U/U/G, hearing the sarcastically-toned words "Welcome back Grunt" before finding myself in the same lobby. I readied-up, against my better judgement. What followed was bizarre, as they kept readying-up and then canceling, and then doing nothing for minutes at a time. I'd already switched back to my trusty Claymore, as I'd rather carry with it than the Graal. But the host had stuck with his AIU, so I decided to switch to a Huntress with Claymore, as I can think of no kit better for destroying Collectors. I hung around for a couple of minutes but other than occasional unpleasant sounds coming from the host's mic, there was no sign of action so I quit again. I dunno, maybe Canadians have even more weird sense of humour than the Irish. Arrow61, or something like that. Very strange.
Lowest: I created my own lobby but nobody joined in more than 5 minutes, and I was in no mood for a solo.
High: I switched to a Fury Tempest with no consumables and searched UUS, found a squad and rattled through 4 or maybe 5 games with mostly the same team, averaging around 16 mins per game. The Fury is obviously OP on Silver, but playing Gold off-host has been responsible for one or two of the toughest games I've ever played, so it was genuinely relaxing just blowing everything up, especially Cerberus. A nice antidote to the earlier encounter. LolSilver FTW!!!

Played a couple Silver matches with my friends last night and were joined by a random. Low: Collectors on Condor with a rather ineffective Juggi. Loads of dying too (from all of us ), but still extracted. High: Ended up with Dagger vs. Reapers afterwards and an Asari Justicar dropped in early in the game. Great player, it was fun, and we did it in 16 minutes. I played the Valkyrie and after the match our guest switched to Valkyrie as well. Of course I had to encourage my friends to also switch to Valkyrie and this match was an absolute dream On Condor vs. Cerby, a lot of Heavy Melees were exchanged between waves and we also finished around 16 minutes again. I wonder if this is someone from the BSN. Their name was secteur_zero, really really good (I know I can be easily impressed because I'm still a noob, but they definitely wrecked everything). We started a third match with this player, but there seemed to have been issues, at some point they were gone. Still, a very fun night after a first frustrating match, and the 4 assari match was a giggling fest for me, it was so awesome!

Cheers, it'll mean a respec but I'll give that a go. I'm currently specced out of HML and running a 4 shot BW or 2 shot Executioner Pistol, but it's been that way for a long time and could certainly do with freshening up. Plink plink plink plink plink Mostly lows yesterday for me, as detailed in the last pug thread, but I should acknowledge that I had a 3/4 Asari game on Goddess with a stubborn Fury who wouldn't switch, and it really was highly enjoyable. You could also try using the Scorpion with a marksman build. I seem to recall that being amusing. Hurricane scorpion TSol is really fun (and wrecks) vs cerb

High: Decided to take my [no-lash-build] BatGuard out for a spin on Giant for a Silver solo against the Geth. Higher: Had a great time meleeing everything to Christendom and back (meleed so much that I didn't even earn a Bronze medal for my Wraith ). Extracted flawless (which was nice) in 21:40 - (Hack/Devices/Escort). I'll take him to a Giant/Geth/Gold solo when I get the chance. Low: There weren't enough baddies for my Batarian to slap around. I love the way he uses his gun like a baseball bat in the light melee, very satisfying. Even the multiple-Prime wave wasn't much of a challenge . Good stuff.

High: Well, as promised earlier today in this thread, I took my BatGuard for a Geth/Giant/Gold solo. He happily meleed his way through to W7 flawless, then things started to get a touch more - erm - heavy . Higher: Battered the living hell out of Primes (they deserve it), Hunters (sneaky buggers), Rocket Troopers (cheating, double-tap, so-and-sos) and Pyros (there's loads of both them and Geth Bombers in the later waves). Low: Soloing Silver (rather than Gold) with this chap is more fun but also delivers much less of a challenge (mind you, IMO he still makes for an easy-mode Gold solo). Extracted in 35.04 (yes, I'm Captain Slow ) after completing Devices/Pizza Delivery/Devices and having used one rocket, one ops pack and 3 medi-gels. The light melee is a lot less useful at this level (rather than on a Silver solo, that is) because its damage is a bit low (even when boosted with a Strength Enhancer III and Juggernaut Shield V); the heavy melee, though, that's another story -- it does oodles of damage and its in-animation DR is a regular a life-saver. Nice.

OK, so I had a run out with the TSol/Scorpion/Hurricane. Got Rippaz in the first game, with 'Hahaha' being a reasonable summary of my reaction to everything they threw at me. Then Cerberus on Vancouver for the second, where the summary would be more like 'Hahahahahahahahahahahaha is that all you've got?!' I think maybe one sneaky turret came close to causing problems, but other than that I almost felt sympathy for them. Almost. Based on the games I've played with the Scorpion over the past few days I think it's beyond argument that the TSol is the most destructive with it, but although it's fun I personally still prefer it on the Salarian Engineer overall. I know both of them can be even more destructive with other weapons, with the Venom particularly impressive on the Salarian, but there is slightly more precision required with the Scorpion, and it just makes me laugh, especially against Geth. I was also painting smiley faces on Atlases, as pointed out by MrsFlyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyingKebab. It's great fun on the Geth Engineer, with Fire Explosions for days, and despite what I said about it feeling 'wrong' in some ways on my QFE, it was probably still more effective against Geth than I honestly want to admit. Destroying Geth as a QFE Claymore is one of the most satisfying things in the game, but part of the reason for that is the fact that most misses will be swiftly followed by the cry of 'Bosh'tet!' In all honesty the Scorpion probably makes things slightly easier overall. As for the Krogan suggestions, I just can't bring myself to do it playing with pugs, so I'll wait till I find a BSNer or two, so that you'll know why I'm doing it. I know I should maybe have posted those comments in the recent builds thread, but the Scorpion advice came from you guys here. Regardless, I had a definite high when I got Typhoon and Paladin upgrades in a single AP after finishing with the Scorpion, and I'm happy to say I don't really need any tips on having fun with those.

To me (and I know it's my L2P issue), he feels like the idiot cousin nobody really wants to talk about. The one who should have been encouraged to wait a while and maybe think about signing up for that Andromeda Initiative thing, with all the other "special" ones...

I respec'd my Warlord (Billy Bob) 56636, 2/3 Melee and gave him a Reegar and Omniblade, sort of a Krogan/Pyjak inbred hybrid, you might say. First time one of my brood has ever gone hunting with that thing. Sent him out into the wild and he met a host who instantly switched to a Krogan Adept. We landed on Condor against Cerberus, were joined by two others - a Human Adept and Batarian Vanguard. Boom. There was much to laugh at (including Billy Bob's ever-present potential for dumbfuckery, getting gutted from behind on W9), but otherwise no gels were used and many heads were butted, with GG messages exchanged. I enjoyed myself, and might even consider giving him a gun next time out.

Low: I got a sound glitch halfway through a Reapers/Dagger match. Not cool, but sound came back after returning to the lobby so I figured all is well. Ready up for the next match as Typhoon Quarksman. We roll Cerberus/Jade...aaaand my sound is gone again. I was still able to do quite well despite having no real idea wtf was going on around me, thank God for Geth Scanner. The only real issue I had was on Phantom and Dragoon waves, 8 and 9 were so much fun. My only sync death, suprisingly, was getting gutted on extraction.

Dis time again for our signature rollercoaster thread now that the weekend once again is all over and done with. dis time again to share the memories of those "dizzying highs and terrifuying lows", reminisce and to contemplate... Words are hard though, also something-something picture something-something a thousand words... so'm gonna employ some visual aids.
So, anyways here goes... High: It all stared off with a friendly duo with Qui-Gon GlenN7 on Saturday morning. got that somewhat covered in the BSNers thread already, here's the shadowplay of the latter game waves.
Highlight: that exfil... High: later on that day got to run a few duos with larsdt . In our first game we opted for matching Katanas BatGuard/BatDept. We got Collectors. Between possessed Crabs and Scions it felt at time like pulling teeth with no anaesthesia i tells ya Highlight: That extraction wave was bloody awesome (starts about 39:30 if the link doesn't work right)...
Don't know how larsdt have managed to get out of that crab-powered blender unit but they did! well played mate Low: It was our only "mission successful" that day Highlight: my BatGuard got stomped on by a sneaky Marauder during Wave 2 so i got to watch larsdt solider on. think this is where my host really started showing its ugly side though. could not help but laugh wathching larsdt ragenuking shit left right and centre Lowlight: me trying to tank those last two banshees on wave 9.
Later that night some more ME3MP was in order..
High: A much smoother, compared to our last encounter, game inolving Obsidian Gryphon 's Paladin. our paladine pug that we picked up also knew what they were doing. Think my Cryo-Katana AA fared not too bad in that company
Low: We did have mrgoldarm with us for a bit there but i presume my host's shenanigans were too much to stick around
So that kinda wrapped the Saturday up, and on Sunday silly RL kinda diverted me from the important things like ME3MP time unfortunately. The only match I managed to sneak in was a bornze match on my latest alt. Yeah, lolbronze and all, my only defence was that at my levels of intoxication it was prescribed against taking on games on a difficulty higher than bronze by. Got a surpise when some lonely Destroyer decided to stop by, I thought I set lobby to private. So anyways, on noticing the lack of reciprocation to the friendly headbutts from my KroLord, the only Krogan I have on that account , I had to engage in a lecture on the intricacies of what's considered a proper Krogan etiquette via console messages. And guess what happened??
High: They listened! They learned!! they took it to heart!!! And from thereon we spent the remainder of match happily meleeing the scarce (lemme tell ya it's like the bloody tumbleweed rolling around empty FBs on Bronze) Rippaz forces headbutting and stomping inbetween the waves.
Low and Lower: On dropping the lobby I found out the hard way that I forgot to configure the ShadowPlayer, meant not recording. And I did not write their tag while in a lobby to flick them a FR. Only rmemebred that the moniker went something wx... or wb...

A much smoother, compared to our last encounter, game inolving Obsidian Gryphon 's Paladin. our paladine pug that we picked up also knew what they were doing. Think my Cryo-Katana AA fared not too bad in that company I think, out of the last few encounters we had, there's only the one time I was on my AA. Ever since I decided to fiddle around with the paladin, I seemed to run into you. Would you believe that I had been playing the AA for over two hours, then decided to switch to paladin and wham! I dropped into your game. Over the weekend, I think I ran into larsdt in a geth match on my AA. I was lolly-gagging around at the back end while the other three were blaring away at the geth. Also ran into andy_3_913 (I think) in a Rio Collector match. He came in rather late.

That fucking bomber..... It was hilarious to see my rubberbanding from your perspective, MPApr2012, and watching us play, our team play was pretty strong in the later rounds. If I was playing a less cheesy kit, we would have scored many more cool kid points, and probably Fission Mailed.

Low: Failed a gold duo vs. Geth with GruntKitterhand. Too many rage gels led to that one. High: Played several other games with Grunt after the duo with zero issues. BatDept/VolDept, HA/Volus Merc, Valkyrie/Glorious Fat TSent. The most fun was probably our last game where we both played melee KroSents vs. Cerberus on Glacier. Lots of headbutts, Claymores, Venoms, and Backhands followed by dead Phantoms and the rest of Cerberus. Good games.

Lots of headbutts, Claymores, Venoms, and Backhands followed by dead Phantoms and the rest of Cerberus. Good games. Yeah, thoroughly enjoyable games with a lot of variety and some really solid teamwork - the Claymore/Venom combo was just about perfect on Glacier, with me sorting the Guardians out and you taking care of ... just about everything else! Sincere apologies for leaving you almost on your own at one point, but be assured I've rarely if ever enjoyed being in Spectator Mode so much. As for my derp, well, Wave 7 Cerberus - 'nuff said. I got my own back later, though I'm a little disappointed I didn't match your 50 melees. That said, some of the ganging up we did on Nemeses and Phantoms was pretty brutal. As for the wipe, it's fair to say I lost my composure on wave 9, when it took me 3 gels just to get my missile out for those Primes. Wave 5 wasn't great either. I was ill-prepared for a duo tbh, having come straight from my previous game, and Suppressor ammo runs, combined with adjusting to the very slight lag was initially problematic (totally playable, but it caused me slight timing issues, most noticeable when I kept casting Stasis behind the Geth). I know we should have managed a successful mission, but we really did get trolled with the starting point for the escort, and I'm really glad we were able to make amends in all the other games.

My space dildo infil went to bed crying and i think my jav is gonna get some rust from all those salty tears. I might have been invisible, but I would have totally trolled you with my mods if you'd messaged me. Low: Accidentally retired myself. High: Still remember how to play. Low: Couldn't find a game, so tried soloing.... and my mods were active. High: SalInf with Widow rolled Dagger (non-hazard, of course) which was fun, wave 9 got a little hairy when I lost control of the map. (I swear it was the goddamned sniping rocket troopers and stealth pyros who got me, and of course, the ambush marauders). Low: I forgot about Extraction wave.... I hate myself. (2x Scion, 2x Ravager, 2x Phantom, 1x Dragoon, 1x Prime) And of course, Dragoon killed me with 1 second left. High: Lancer Vorcha Engineer (My favourite Vorcha) rolled Goddess, which got a little tough, wave 3 is terrible for soloing (Nemesis targets whilst being harassed by super fast abombs). Match was not easy, but was nonetheless fun. Low: Carnifex Huntress (Still waiting on Paladin for her) got seriously trolled, in the worst possible way, she rolled Rio for my Reapers set, which is basically the worst combo of F-U I have seen in a long time. Wave 3 end-to-end pizzas with 2x Rocket Trooper, 2x Atlas, 2x Marauder, and 2x Collector Captain was tough enough, but it went downhill from there. I shall endevour to remember not to try and solo Reapers on my mod, it is just too painful. High: Had a lot of fun, remembered why I enjoy the game, and will hopefully play some more.
