Finally ventured into Platinum on PC (I usually just play Gold like a scrub but I was with docsteely so we thought we would give Platinum a go last night). Good games all round (thanks for joining doc) We were a bit unlucky with horrible objectives/spawns the first game but its Condor so it was expected lol. The only low point was the last game and that's only because the two pugs who joined us decided to compete for top score with 1 another (both were Quarian male Infiltrators so were spamming arc grenades). I was fine with the 1 pug who was a good player in fairness but the other one was a score where who spammed rockets at the worst time and didn't help with objectives, their name was something like deft_ti

About scorewhores: you'll meet a lot on PC, who treat the game like it's a competition (e-peen is a thing! ); they absolutely forget that it's a coop game. I remember playing a Drelldept and failing to extract because of stupid scorewhore nuking spawns and getting me killed in the process ...

Gold is a completely different beast. Gold is just easy enough that average players using AIU Reegars or TGI Carriers can manage to "lonewolf" it with trainingwheels. That seems to make them think they're great, when they're a walking assembly of crutches.
At least if you're going to be a crutch built on another crutch make it look good like I do.

The pool of plat players on PC is small enough that names are getting pretty recognizable. Both in terms of players you want to play with and players you don't. Either because they're shitty scorewwhores or because they run crappily modded lobbies like dragonrising.

I've found the average pug on PC to more concerned about top scoring than doing objectives (at least compared to the ones on xbox). My experience on PC (admittedly limited because I have only a few hours on pc) is at least 1 person every game rockets on wave 11, these people get killed in multiple waves, dont help with objectives and don't help teammates who have been downed. This seems to happen 1 in 5 games for me on xbox but I would say its almost 4 in every 5 games on PC

Also i guess more PC players are confident in dealing with the waves, so take more risks and also more "their fun" whether it s scoring or going for juicy kills. But yeah, u got all kind of stupid/PITA pugs too.

Meh not for me, my oppinion is that rockets should only be used in certain circumstances (to save a teammate, assignation, objectives, in a situation where you or a teammate are in a bad position and will end up trading lots of gels/revives and lastly and most importantly on possessed abombs who are near teammates). If someone has done objectives, helped teammates and hasn't been overly annoying then I can tolerate the wave 11 rockets (if you want to top score then be my guest). Where I draw the line are the pugs who don't gel, dont do objectives, dont revive teammates and then nuke on wave 11 and unfortunately thats the majority of the pugs who I have played with and who nuke on wave 11. Those scrubs get kicked or I leave the game

Yep, Al, that's true. A little scorewhore is not as bad as a big scorewhore, eh? As for "the confidence" in dealing with the waves of the PC players , the huge majority of those I've seen nuking spawns are a total disaster at clutching the wave if you happen to get sync'ed . So I wonder, is it confidence or mindlessness?

Annoying PUGs? We have solution: step 1-enable the console step 2 -write "spectate" step 3-navigate to the desired PUG step 4-write "killviewedactor" Profit Optional solution-use a kit with an overload-equip disruptor ammo-start the match-enable the console-write "changeteam"-run after your "victims"(PUGs),shot at them, spam overload and do not forget to enjoy the show.

So I wonder, is it confidence or mindlessness? yeah, well, i dont do it often, but sometimes u just want to nuke things, and W11 is good for that (u dont need them nuke anymore), it s not even score whoring on my side. I also nuke liberally when i m not willing to fight another way. I avoid to do it too much if the team is good though.
also, whatever the pugs do, as long as they seem to be concerned one way or another and the game goes ok... if it turns shit and they still do little or no effort, and then nuke w11, yes, time for console or just disconnection
so it seems w11 nuking is a bad sign in general though

so it seems w11 nuking is a bad sign in general though Agreed. It's a bad sign, because it usually sums up all that was not done during the rest of the game: not reviving, not contributing at the objectives and all the rest that define a bad teammate . Al, I agree that we play this game for fun first and foremost. But this game is also Coop, not PvP. If a player wants to have fun at the expense of other players, then by all means, he/she should go play Fortnite or Apex Legends . Not ME3MP. I play it because I want to have fun, complete objectives and extract while being part of a Team, not because I'm "the bestest there is, look at me how much I score"... And I firmly believe most of BSN feels like I do.

But this game is also Coop This is why I love this game. It's a big component of why I keep coming back. I just don't like this game solo. Not knocking on those who do, I've watched many solos from people here and learned lots. While I occasionally solo I don't do it often and pretty much for one of two reasons. - Last bit of a challenge with a shitty weapon - Krogan Stress Relief (Kroguard Melee build Gold Geth in Vancouver or Glacier(H). Only way I go down is two primes stunlocking perfectly with a pyro or two in the mix, otherwise I'm invincible. It takes forever but that's not the point. Headbutts and golfing things off the side of Vancouver is. That or playing in the swarm.) In terms of W11 nukes and what I consider a scorewhore; pretty much if they help with objectives they can get away with whatever. W11 nuking that scatters spawns on you sucks but I'd much rather that than someone that won't help with objectives. I generally don't W11 nuke. I save my missiles for getting out of sync kills (sometimes it works even if the banshee already picked you up) and getting other people out of sync kills. And assassinations/objectives/swarmers/the-obvious-stuff-etc.

Glitchy
Plat match, went as geth infil. Host was Hero something.
While doing the third device for wave 3 or 6, I couldn't remember, a PA jumped in. It made a beeline for me despite my avatar being cloaked. After melee-ing the PA, the avatar suddenly went into this strange turning to and fro jerks for a few seconds.
After finishing the third device, I went to the fourth. It was then I realised the avatar had no weapon. Not wanting to abandon the match, I dropped and went in again. This took several seconds; equipping the loadouts.
The glitch remained, the avatar was without a weapon. I've noted in other matches that if you dropped out of a match and returned to it several seconds later, whatever points you have scored remained. Mine were not there.
Another oddity I've noticed is one of the other players had chosen the asari adept class. Before I left the match, most of the big bosses were on him. When I returned, he was cornered, practically backed against the wall and everything on him. Yet he didn't go down. I had to use a missile to help him out and then dropped out once more when I noted the glitch didn't clear. I didn't bother to go back.
The match started with four but one of them dropped before the disarm device round. I've to wonder if he experienced the same glitch.

Can be fun at times, but not for long. Last time, for the first time, i was completly ignored for 2 waves (i quit after that). I walked around behind Primes/hunters to kill them slowly and was never attacked :payback:

Bumped into the infamous dispenseroflove just now in some random pub. They let off the longest, most f-bomb laden tirade I've ever heard. I assume they didn't like me using the chakram launcher but it was hard to tell because their mic sucks. They also tried to vote kick me immediately after the match but ended up leaving themselves. On the upside, we were both cabal vanguards, how often do you see that happen?

Welp, I spoke too soon,
The level 1 quit as soon as the game started because motormouth started being a dick, and I left a few seconds after.
Not listening to a clown like that.

Bummer for the newbie, he wasted his only L3 consumable. Then again, he was going to be a hard carry (N1, off-host VG, Gold) anyway.
I drop whenever I'm in his lobby. But if in game already, I'd just default to my standby: have mic connected, but sitting on my desk. So he can't rant away and I wouldn't hear a peep.

Bummer for the newbie, he wasted his only L3 consumable If he was lucky and left quickly enough, it might have been saved.

I must be doing something wrong because I've run into him a few times and there's never been a peep out of him. Hmm
Welp, I spoke too soon,
The level 1 quit as soon as the game started because motormouth started being a dick, and I left a few seconds after.
Not listening to a clown like that.
Seems that this guy is pretty popular around here For all these years met him only once,3 or 4 years ago. Dropped gip(halfway 1 wave),plat giant hazard and he didn't say a word during the whole run, probably because i revived him around 100 times and outscored him by 100-120k points. He was using his old nickname and didn't help with objectives. I don't know if he helps nowadays.

I ran into him again the other day when he dropped into my GiP. Didn't say a word and he even stuck around for a 2nd match. Would've been a 3rd but I had to go feed my kids. He's a mercurial fellow.

Had some pretty good moments today, but this was probably the best:
