No VA at all would be my choice, but that's not going to happen lol. I can now finally see why people still prefer this, I think we would have much more agency and dialogues with it. But I'm fine with either.

Have Claudia Black get Ben Browder to join in. I don't know why, but I could really picture Ben Browder playing an affably evil Dwarven crimeboss for some reason?

I don't know why but now I want to see Lani Tupu also get in on the action because of this quote. "Then I can't arrest you!" Loved Crais.

Anthony Stewart Head and Alan Tudyk are two more names I'd throw into the ring. No idea what roles they'd be suited for, ASH as a member of the Magisterium and Alan Tudyk as a City Elf or Spirit perhaps?

Hell maybe name him 'humor' or something. (OK I just realized that last bit would be a bit much)

I know it will never happen(since lorewise it would only really fit one race) but I'd love a Welsh VA for Dalish protagonists.

Their current characterization is halfway between “runaway AI” and “the personification of a meme”* so there’s a very digital feel to them. Tudyk could definitely reinforce that vibe. *meme in the original broad sense of “any idea that spreads quickly, including stuff like religious beliefs, conspiracies, and political priorities”... though even broadly speaking, memes typically do spread faster in the Fade on the internet.

Yeah I really want to get away from the 'standard' and 'proper' British and American accents used in the game.
They can still be British and American accents, but they can and maybe should be more provincial. Like everyone in Kal Sharok speaks with a Minnesotan accent but they're basically all serious no-laughing kind of people. Or the Archon speaks with a strong West Country accent, like Hagrid! Can you imagine the Archon saying "yer a wizard, 'arry?"
No Scousers, though.
Also, French accents pls. Orlais is supposed to be one of the 3 most powerful nations in Thedas.

The West Country is the best accent, hands down, it needs more representation in games.
But I'd enjoy seeing some Scousers pop up, mostly because it'd confuse everyone.

I know this isn't the protagonist, but apparently the writer for Vaea imagines her sounding like Freema Agyeman. That'd be pretty cool if they could get her to voice her, if Vaea ended up making the jump from the comics to the games?

That's not to say that she wasn't brilliant in some episodes, as her performance in "Human Nature" and "Family of Blood" were probably her best moments in S3. But overall, I found her acting on Law and Order: UK to be far stronger than it was on Who (but that's just my opinion).
Although we're talking about how she sounds... which I dunno, I've not seen her in anything where she hasn't used an English accent?

A pitch slider is an interesting idea, though I don't remember playing a game that had one. They are not entirely uncommon in eastern MMOs, but those don't really have extensive voice acting, the voice is almost exclusively used for combat grunts and an occasional emote. Games like Phantasy Star Online 2...and others, but that's the one where I'm 100% sure that had it About voices...I'm thinking the Frye twins. (that would be Victoria Atkin and Paul Amos) I absolutely adore their voices. But especially Victoria Atkin, I find her voice to be absolutely swoon-worthy. This is for protags, but I wouldn't mind her as a LI...give a LI that voice and I would probably fall for her during first 5 sentences

Pretty sure she speak American in Sense8 (phenomenal show, Btw) Ah, I've not seen Sense8 yet, it's been on my watch-list for a while (along with Luther, Breaking Bad and the Wire). I love shows about detectives and such and Luther is definitely one of the better shows I've seen, especially season 1 (Ruth Wilson is Amazing as Alice and their moral tug-of-war is my favorite part of the show). (Also thank you, btw. Had to look something up and apparently there's a season 5 coming). And to make it more relevant: I'd love it if Idris Elba could voice someone, I could listen to that voice forever.

It made me interested enough to want to go back to watch the first few series on Netflix, because I somehow never managed to catch them when they aired on the Beeb?
Idris Elba would be amazing to get as a VA, you could put him in any role and he'd be fantastic.
Some more people I'd recommend, Colin Morgan (Merlin, Humans) for an Elven male protagonist or companion, as his native Irish would be perfect for an Elf, particularly one with a Dalish background.
For the human male protagonist or any companion, Colin Salmon (Zod in Krypton, Walter in Arrow), because the man's voice is absolutely godly. Come to think of it, he definitely has the authority and gravitas to pull off playing Archon Radonis as well.
Also second the above recommendation for Victoria Atkin as the female human protagonist. Otherwise, Charlotte Ritchie would be a great pick, as she's already gotten VA experience voicing Zoe Castillo in Dreamfall: Chapters, if anyone here has played it?

Also second the above recommendation for Victoria Atkin as the female human protagonist. If we're talking races I was thinking elf, but human works too. She did voice of female Void Elf in WoW too, which made me consider making an Alliance character for once (as opposed to my horde of blood elves >_< )

I liked Matthew Gravelle (who voiced Inquisitor Ameridan) and wouldn't mind if he returned in some form. Here's him in a radio drama with Eve Myles, the voice of Merrill.
Speaking of Merrill, since we've now had three principal actors from the series Torchwood voice a prominent character in Dragon Age games - Eve Myles, Gareth David-Lloyd (Solas), and Indira Varma (Vivienne) - I wonder if now would be a good time to start speculating who we are going to get in the next game. 🤔 The ones left are John Barrowman, Kai Owen, Naoko Mori and Burn Gorman. Personally I'd take Gorman or Mori, but Burn Gorman has a nasal voice and I know some people find those unpleasant.

I want to play as a tevinter, voiced by whoever can talk in a fitting accent I want to play as one, too, but I'm greatly against accents. I can only stand those that exist in DAI because English isn't my native language. Regional accents are, well, regional and they pull me right out of the world. I want generic language.
