So Kira, Scourge and DS Jaesa return next.
Source? I really thought they'd leave Kira for dead last just to milk it for maximum greed. Pretty sure she's both the most popular companion/LI and has Laura Bailey as the most prominent companion voice actor, other than maybe Catherine Taber in the Star Wars context.
I think I heard it on their stream, but here you can read it and there is a link to the stream.

That's an old link, and not a specific one at that. "The year of companions" doesn't narrow down much. How many major updates do they do in a year? I thought they had actually confirmed for a specific patch, like they have been doing.

I've been reading stuff in here and elsewhere about the latest story bits and it got me to reinstall the game...again. And no, it's not for Thana Vesh, I think I always kill her.
Every time I decide to uninstall SWTOR and tell myself it's the last time I play the game, I reinstall it 6 months later. *sigh*

Thinking about all the story content ahead of me is overwhelming. I haven't even finished the original class stories. I liked the looks of my last Inquisitor so much, I made the same toon for Consular. I'm going to try full-on dark side this time. I figure you can be calm and serene and still crave power and harbor a sort of cold anger. We'll see. She looks plenty serene.

If you count planetary quests, flashpoints, ops, dailies.. it is overwhelming which is why they provide an option to hide most quest marks in the map. But they're all doable at any time. No real rush, enjoy at your own pace.

If you really want overwhelming story content, go try ESO. It literally throws quests at you with nagging quest givers (the DLCs ones are the most nagging) and you can go anywhere at anytime and do stuff out of order without warning. I'm currently playing it...
I think SWTOR does a good job at pacing the content, even if it's mostly linear, and most stuff isn't too "in your face" outside a few NPCs in the fleet. The only thing that gets weird is the planet bonus series that you can start before getting the main "bonus series" quest if you reached a certain level. The main storyline is getting super long though which makes making new alt daunting (took me over 90 hours making a new character to the Umbara flashpoint last year) and using a token isn't the same thing.
aoibhealfae's "enjoy at your own pace" is 100% accurate.

While I still would prefer the leveling to be as slow as it once was (hitting 50 somewhere roughly midway into Corellia having done every planetary questline, side quest and each flashpoint at least once along the way as they became available), the current model does allow you to speed through to the KOTFE/KOTET content and beyond rather quickly IF you don't mind skipping a ton of quests. Level-wise you'll easily keep up just doing class quests and the main questline on the planets. You could probably even skip the planetary questline tbh, but there's a limit to how much I'm personally willing to skip.
I miss the days when it was genuinely challenging to do stuff like taking on champion level mobs solo with just your companion, forcing you to actually git sort of gud and giving you some practice in getting your rotations right for group content before and without actually having to step foot into a flashpoint or operation. Now the only way is to actually do them, leaving you (well, me at least) feeling like you're shit and dragging your group down because you're beyond rusty since you cut through any solo content like a hot knife through butter without any challenge.
It's been a while since I've tested one, but are the level scaled flashpoints (group ones, not solo mode) still disproportionately hard if you go in at lower levels? Because I remember trying to do Hammer Station at ~20 (a few levels later than the original intended level for it way back when) with the rest of my group being something like from late 40's to 60 and all the mobs absolutely MELTED me, no matter how much my stats were supposed to be adjusted.
But I'm starting a new job shortly, so I think I'll get a sub going again since my pay is going to be nice enough that I won't feel too bad about paying for it even if I go some time without playing.

I'm not bothered with level system since I don't want to spend a month with basic leveling on a 7 years old game. I have 34 level 70 toons at the moment and since I also rarely sub, I can't max out Command levels for all of them. Normally it took one month to max out a single command character without double xp or cxp boosts. The whole Pay-to-grind can get really old fast.
I don't feel SWTOR was that easy. A lot of its content can be frustrating and the difficulty range on the type of play you're doing (anyone could try solo-ing all Master flashpoints/operations/chapters) and level sync keep your max level toon from dealing one-shot zero-xp kills. Last year I pick up ESO and had to camp on Dolmen gates for weeks just to grind some characters to level 30 so that I could safely explore the map alone without being easily killed. I really don't need that in SWTOR.

Esseles/Black Talon were always easy, I was duo-ing them with comps right out of starter planets at release which isn't that much different than doing the solo mode now with you companion and the robot (outside 4.0 companions being better). BioWare haven't touched their enemies difficulty from what I can see, the "easier experience" is the result of the companions changes. The faster leveling is the result of the questing XP rework (aka purple quests).
SWTOR leveling speed isn't that fast. Sure you'll level cap long before you reach Coruscant if you do everything, use XP boost and got a sub, but it's not any faster than GW2 or ESO (my two other MMOs) under the same conditions. In fact, GW2 throws XP at you (via tomes and anniversary scrolls) and ESO seems to have made it easier than aoibhealfae experienced because I leveled a character from 1 to 25 over the weekend without using XP boosts (outside sub boost) doing normal questing.
As for "removing the rusty", last night I ran "Traitor among the Chiss" solo (first time doing it) on a character I haven't played since last November. It wasn't as bad as I feared, there was a few close call though. Saying that, I'm surprised Temple asked to join considering how much "healing on overdrive" she had to do. If I was one of those companions, I would have quit the job so long ago.

I'm glad to see people coming back I unsubbed/uninstalled about 6 months after the game released and was gone for about a year. I then returned and I've never uninstalled again and been subbed mostly the whole time with a skipped few weeks here and there. I try to stay subbed all the time to support the game and because then I can play if I get the itch I recently went back to WoW for a few months after being gone for 5 1/2 yrs and decided it just isn't fun anymore. When my sub runs out in a couple weeks I won't be staying with them. Maybe when classic servers release. Nice lightsaber mybudgee! Did you make it?

God damn you. Now I've been browsing their store and I'm seriously contemplating spending what (let's be honest) is WAAAAY too much to spend on an ornament/toy like that. ...but it would feel so fucking cool to have a custom, real* lightsaber tailored to your own tastes. The 10 year old within me would literally kill to have his own lightsaber, and not just a direct copy of Luke's or Vader's or whomever's. *by real I obviously just mean that it's crafted out of actual metal, leather and whatnot instead of just being a cheap plastic toy

Finally got the time to run through the story for the Nathema Conspiracy. My female Sith Warrior is now "up-to-date" with the story. I'm kinda surprised how much they spend on level/environmental design for us to just run through a "corridor" sometimes though.
Now, I kinda want to replay something else (I played through all the stories at least once), especially since I got all those new haircuts to choose from...but I'm currently subbed to ESO and well, I'm technically supposed to play that. lol

I have problem focusing on more than one game at the same time, if I switch game I can rarelly comeback to the same character I had before. That means I "binge" MMOs for a few months and less or more move between SWTOR, ESO and GW2 through out the year...and then I restart a new character each time (less or more). I started a new male Smuggler and female BH last night though. While my BH is a total badass already at level 5, I did a lots of Imps questing last year and I needed some levity so a new Smuggler was born... I much prefer the BH story though.

I remember playing this game for a couple of hours.
I was having fun too, until it starting crashing on me.
But like I said, I had fun. Named myself "Fives" in honor of the TCW character.
