I really like Vector and fem-agent, but I delete mine to make a new light vs dark character and oh look, it's another male agent. (My main is a concealment operative, and I suspect this boy will level partially by PvP). I really like PvP, and while SWTOR isn't the BEST venue for PvP, it miraculously works on my terrible Arctic internet. My backup main is a female powertech because tanking is fun. And a tanky guardian because "GET BEHIND ME, SQUISHY FRIENDS." Most of my toons were rolled to level with my husband, and I'm even trying one healer, but I do spend some time striking out on my own.

See, I initially made a male agent. Chiss (notThrawn of course). And promptly deleted him when I met my exact twin on Hutta. When I tried again I figured everyone's going to want to make notThrawn so I made a human female with red hair. And boy am I glad I did. Jo Wyatt could read me sewage reports from Bumfuck Alabama and I'd still be in love . It's a pity I haven't come across her voicing more video games and I have little interest in DA. Maybe I'll get the Witcher since I think she's in that.

Gameplay wise I can't not make an operative (scroundrel). Stealth plus heals? It's just too good to pass up. I like healing as an op too, probably the only time I seek out group content (mostly flashpoints). Tanking seems so contrary to all my gaming insticts. You're telling me I want to get everyone's attention and take hits from them when I can't kill them myself?  I just can't do it. Plus it's too much responsability in the current group model. I prefer healing. It's the perfect balance. You're important but not everything rests on your shoulders and you contribute without being crucial or generic. Plus, since you heal people, you're everyone's friend. At least in theory.

Stealth is the most magnificent thing.

It's why I keep rolling shadows and assassins, operatives and smugglers. It's just so delightful to sneak past all those mobs with a grin on your face.

That is true. Until you reach KotFE, then stealth is mostly useless when fighting all the prescripted "we will attack you no matter what" mobs.

I use that afterburner thing to take screenshots, otherwise I think you use prt scr and paste to paint individually to save them. Someone who is more tech savvy than me can probably offer a better solution.

Some of them will leave you alone with a crafty restealth, but yeah, most of them are annoying like that. But a stealther can still get through a lot of noise a lesser class would have to suffer through.

And shadow/assassin gameplay is the bomb-diggity. I just wish the stories were my favorites (not that they're bad, but I just can't resist being a perfect-little-jedi or a flaming pile of snark on my inquisitor, so they have an element of sameness).

I avoid the cartel market like the plague. Ruins most of the game in my opinion.

They crashed the ingame economy with it... and meh, I'm too tired and lazy to complain about something I don't even care about anymore. After the HK-55 bonus chapter I'm canceling my subscription until there's new content for me.

The packs as far as I remember rotate on a schedule no one but Bioware knows. So it's possible you will see those packs again at some point.


Otherwise, yeah the Cartel Market is a scam. And see this is why I love this thread. If I said that on the TOR boards I'd get white knights up my ass about how "it's not a scam, you chose to pay money, Bioware is a company and needs money lolololol". Bunch of freaks, thinking a) they're special because they fund shitty practices on a monthly basis, humping the dev's legs will earn them cred somehow or c) all of the above.

Seriously I have as much beef with the vibe on there as I do with the shitty game decisions themselves. But, shouldn't get sidetracked. The CM-based economy has had an interesting effect on the game, namely that if you don't care about the shinies, credits become almost meaningless. I mean yes, it's ridiculous that a particular resking of some armor or some variation of an NPC look goes for tens if not hundreds of millions. But take those out and pretty much everything else is quite affordable. Armor that matters (i.e the stats) comes from actually playing the game, as does getting mats for crafting. You can use the GTN for the latter of course but prices for that are reportedly reasonable.

So really, if you don't care about the latest shinies you actually bypass all the bullshit and can just play for fun. I'm all about playing for fun and I'm not sure why MMO players don't seem to share that view. They always want to be rewarded with trinkets for everything they do. Probably because the gameplay is accounting based

My coins tend to go into changing my characters' hair on a regular basis, or tweaking just a few more things.

And then I craft so I can buy shiny things off the GTN, because it is known that if you WANT something from a gambling pack, you will get everything but that thing.
