Thing is, it's not a new thing in an RPG and definitely not a new thing in a Bioware game. Candlekeep gives such a bad impression of this game. Weak weapons. Awful fetch quests, like delivering swords and killing rats. Can't even run.  Don't forget introducing us to characters we're supposed to care about immediately even though we've never spent any time with them, and forcing the PC into a predetermined background. (ME:A caught a lot of grief for the first one. At least Alec dies better than Gorion did.)

Can't have more "tell, don't show" people like to throw around nowadays (many without understanding what it is) than the very first minute  Also - *cough*all origins in DAO*cough*You could choose from a few, but then there's a ton of stuff that is predetermined for each background*cough*

Okay very WEIRD THING. I just found a turtle swimming in a river very close to a waterfall in Valley of Tarsis. That is the first Earth lifeform i found in Bastion.  Makes me wonder if all those shaper tech around are opening gateways to another universes. Freelancer Codex @freelancercodexAlright freelancers, I found a sea turtle 🐢 in the game. I’ll let you hunt for it. But how did it get from our world to Bastion? Shaper relic opened a rift in our ocean? First wildlife I have seen in the game that correlates to our world. Happy hunting. Finished exploring the map, Trailblazer/Exploration Master challenges unlocked. Had to resort to YT for three of the overlooks, damn shame  The map is done well enough, but with the crazy movement speed of Javelins and the build-in shortcuts, it's way too small. Needs to be twice as big, so you can get REALLY lost out there. The lore you pick up on the way again showcases how much potential this game wastes at every corner. Bah  |

Had a patchy day yesterday, not because of game servers, but my own fiberoptic connection throwing a hissy fit at me almost all day  After I logged in today so far the game is working without any issues. |

I didn't do anything with Anthem except see this commercial a short time ago. I went on youtube to listen to it again, and sure enough I hear Ozzy's voice in the background with his song Crazy Train. excellent. Well done Bioware. I like Ozzy. Seen him in concert many times. I have watched a couple of gameplay videos. Looks good. If I could get the platinum trophy playing solo, I might get the game, but it wouldn't be until the price has dropped. |

I fought a whole bunch of Dominion dudes in an underwater cave and got chased around by these things called Dominion Brutes. It was pretty exciting as I was sure no one would find me if I got downed. The underwater passage was lined with reddish pink anemone-like creatures. I wonder if the devs giggled when they built it because as you swim through it, it does conjure up certain mental images... But maybe that's just me. After all, I can't look at Sloane Kelly without thinking that her outfit is giving birth to her.  An extremely questionable design choice if you ask me.  |

The lore you pick up on the way again showcases how much potential this game wastes at every corner. Bah  How does it waste the potential?  It is part of the world building. Right now they're merely setting the stage. This is the prologue not the finale.

Whats the difference between a normal combo, and a storm’s CHAIN combo? Im aski g because the component which increases the atorms chain combo’s by 2 seems powerful, but i just dont understand what exactly it does...

What I take from it is that the Storm has a limited number of enemies he can affect when he does a combo. The Storm combo effect is to spread the ice/fire/lightning to nearby enemies. Like 8 or whatever. That component increases the number of affected enemies by 2. I can be very wrong of course.
On another note, did anyone test the stats for Supply-Drop rate and Supply-Luck. I play around with it and from my anecdotal evidence it seems Drop rate increases how often stuff drops (health, ammo, gear) and the Luck increases the chance of a higher item rating drop. I do feel like when I got 60 % extra Drop rate and 100+% more Luck I started getting much more drops and better quality.

Finally bought the game, as soon as the download finished I will join all you freelancers! A bit bummed to see the lack of character customization outside of the Javelins though... Yeah bought it last night myself got it downloading right now. Hopefully at some point this evening I'll take my first look. Still got 2 hours yet before it completes downloading though according to Origin. Busying myself playing MEA in the meantime while I wait.

After exercising I got a bit of play time in. World Event with the Titans I failed because it was too powerful. What can you do there. I just recruited Haluk and Faye after their mission. Story is following a standard BioWare slope. I also have a sinking feeling that the "twist" I saw advertised by some folks is that Owen will either be the Monitor, or replace him at some point by betraying the Freelancers. A shame too as his character is endearing despite his grating goofiness. Not much else to say so far. Want to try for more stuff in Freeplay including those world events again. |

Nothing left for the tombs challenge except melee … which I have not been doing with my Storm.
So … for the first time since I reached level 2 (currently level 14) going back to the Ranger (named Walker TX Ranger) to knock out the melee challenge. On the bright side, should pick up some Ranger gear, since the loot drops are biased for whichever Javelin you are running.
Chasing the tomb challenges was not a big deal, once they fixed the bug, it just sorta took care of itself … but now I've maxed out all the story components, it's time to get busy to open up the rest of the game.
I'm glad in a way that the tombs challenge started out bugged, the complaints folks posted clued me in that the challenge was a progression gate … otherwise, I would have been a bit WTF?
Side note (speaking of bugs) … the "join a challenge mission to help out a fellow player" … seems to have a bug. The mission is displayed on the right side of the screen, but it doesn't actually kick off. No enemies spawn anywhere on the map … it's the static world. Kinda creepy. But no amount of wandering about the map will trigger the mission and swapping out everyone in the group doesn't fix it. I don't know when the mission started, but I stayed long enough that the entire team, other than me, was swapped out at least three times, before I left too.

So I finally got a bug.
Was doing side missions in Anthem, got a few contracts and speaking to members of the fort like the routine is now for me. Was About to do one of Yarrows, when the game crashed and it took you back to the ps4 screen.
Or it normally would. In this case what happened is it jammed. Tried shutting down the ps4 entirely...it also jammed and is now sort of frozen. Had to do a hard reset.
That's a new one. I'm going to try again but if it is persisting then I'll have to stay away from that mission.
