Hmm, what? Oh, the new patch? If next week I get 5 Masterworks in Freeplay instead of 4, I still won't call GM3 "viable" 😁 At LEAST a Legendary in every LC or bust! Bare minimum in GM3 Freeplay should be 2 Legendaries out of every 50 drops. I played a HoR GM3 game 2 days ago. It took way too long compared to GM2 and I'm not even talking about the boss. I did get 1 legendary, and it was yet another component for the Colossus I have zero use for. Maybe I should play Colossus to get some Interceptor drops...? Anyways, we'll see what the drops will be like, but I think GM2 runs will still be more efficient until the players are more powerful (not in gearscore but in actually getting useful inscriptions). This morning I had a conversation in Discord. People arguing that GM3 Freeplay is the best way to get loot. But if you are really just doing it for the drops, then HoR is the place to be and probably will be for quite a while. It's pretty quick, has 2 chests, a titan and 2 furies. People argued that it takes a long time but I recorded a run with some randos until the 2nd chest and it took like 9 minutes (and I even died once). With a solid team this can be sped up further and the boss fight can be added when it actually gives a reward. If anyone is interested in taking a look, here's the video (which might have black bars if you are on a 16:9 display):G Gonna try this today with that acid melee build since my venom bomb and venom spray have 2 charges each. Here is GM3 Freeplay with a ranger build I'll also try

Random comment: I’ve been most focusing on completing the challenges these days so I’ve mostly kept to GM1. My current Storm build is entirely capable of handling GM2, but it just takes longer if the number of activities or enemies killed is the goal.

But if you are really just doing it for the drops, then HoR is the place to be and probably will be for quite a while. Good luck getting into the beginning of HoR until the patch drops. I tried the other day: 6/6 times loaded in on the Monitor fight. Finally just gave up and did freeplay instead.
I did manage to get fairly early into Heart of Rage yesterday along with the usual monitor-only version on another attempt!
I was pretty pleased to get 2 new legendaries out of one of the GM2 missions I was doing. One was an upgrade of a Masterwork Elemental Rage (Defender LMG) and the other was an Avenging Herald (Blastback Heavy Pistol) with 200% damage on hovering. None of them beat my existing weapon though, a Legendary Renewed Courage (Havoc LMG) with +225% physical damage. Everything else so far has paled in comparison!
I tried the Herald out on my storm in GM2 but I've decided the storm is too britle for GM2 at the moment. Most fights I go down almost as soon as I turn up!

I rather like 'Best Defense' on my Colossus, so it was nice to get a Legendary version. Initially, I thought it came with +25% gear damage as well as double charges, but no...

So I was looking up what the Challenge of Resolve was, it’s doing 30 Daily Quests and 5 weeklies. Considering you can complete 4 weekly quests per week and multiple dailies, this seems... pretty tame compared to grinding out 100 world events really.

Did it without looking at it. Just 3 more Strongholds for the last weekly and off to the next one.

I unlocked the Challenge of Might this morning, I’m digging the lore this Bard guy is giving me. Just unlocked the same challenge. The lore information the Bard provides is interesting. Like the story about the one lancer who didn't join the founders of neither future Anthium or the Dominion but instead decided to become a free agent. Or about the girl who will create the dominion, and i bet the next one is about Vassa the founder of Anthium. About this challenge do I need to deliver the finish blow or any kill in a group, like during a stronghold, counts towards it? By the way, got two more javelin components and one spark beam with 125% extra damage (all MW). My Ranger is starting to feel very powerfull when doing GM1 freeplay.

(Mild ones, I'll grant you)
Today in anthem. I did an our of freeplay session with a pug. Was pretty fun to do. I usualy follow an established group around, but these guys had some really weird map routes... Anyway, it was a lot of fun, and I did end up with 2 legendary drops and 6 or so masterworks. One legendry component (my first, and actually pretty decent as far as components go), so this was useful. And 1 legendary venom blaze, which sadly had no damage (15%, yaaaaay ) or gear charge bonuses, so was basically trash (I have a +175% masterwork VB anyway). There actually were several useful masterworks (a gun I forgot I didn't have, the 4 burst with the explosion, hilarious to use!). I seem to have better luck with actually useful masterworks on freeplay, but that's probably RNG.
The 2 legendaries dropped actually 10 minutes in, like 5 enemies apart, so at that point I thought: Oh yeah, freeplay rules! But then I continued to get nothing but epics galore and a few masterworks for 45 minutes...
All I want is a legendary lightning strike with 200+% damage and extra gear charges, is that so much to ask? Oh, and a decent legendary gun with extra damage.
But ah well, I had a good run all in all. Was fun. Freeplay is so much more chill than dungeons or contracts.

Three are grenades so they go nto the same slot and one of those is a much worse duplicate. My good inferno grenade though is...well..good god good.

ooops, now I have to officially pity you ... 110 hours and 3 leg. components (all Ranger ), 1 renewed courage, 1 Papa Pump, 1 chunks of ice thingie
but honestly it is not so much the not dropping legendarys I hold a grudge against (they should be rare) ^^ ... it is more the MW drop rate I loathe with a passion - way too many purples & blues on GM1 for my taste

But then I continued to get nothing but epics galore and a few masterworks for 45 minutes... All I want is a legendary lightning strike with 200+% damage and extra gear charges, is that so much to ask? :POh, and a decent legendary gun with extra damage. But ah well, I had a good run all in all. Was fun. Freeplay is so much more chill than dungeons or contracts. Only good guns right now for GM2+ are the ones with elemental procs and only because the proc damage scales unlike the gun damage. But even those are completely overshadowed by melee/combo builds. Why shoot something for 10+ seconds with a 400% Leg gun when you can 1 or 2 shot it with melee/combo? All guns need buffing. Btw, test your Legendary VB and compare the result to the 175% one. I am curious how much difference you will see. I have the same experience with Freeplay Leg drops. If I get them at the start of Freeplay (usually 2 in a short time span) then I get nothing until the end. And after the loot "buff" if I don't get a Legendary soon after I enter Freeplay I don't get one at all even if I play over an hour or two and skip on dozens upon dozens of Epics. I had better GM1 drops before the "buff", lol. I am at a point to call shenanigans on Bioware about "buffing" GM2 and GM3. The only drop buff I see is the stupid Epics. I litter the whole map with them.

But if you are really just doing it for the drops, then HoR is the place to be and probably will be for quite a while. Good luck getting into the beginning of HoR until the patch drops. I tried the other day: 6/6 times loaded in on the Monitor fight. Finally just gave up and did freeplay instead. It can be a problem. Sometimes when playing public matches I have the same problem and at other times (like when I was recording the gameplay) I had a fresh game every time I started HoR. But I also ended up at the monitor with a full party - that's really stupid. I hope after the patch this is fixed and then I'm probably gonna farm the crap out of this stronghold (not that I haven't been doing that anyways, but after the patch it's hopefully more reliable to get into a fresh game and also worth fighting the boss for drops. Today I decided to give the Colossus a try because I got several legendaries for him while playing the Interceptor. Jeez, this dude is so overpowered it's not even funny. I didn't have any gear (the level 1 default stuff I guess) and just put the legendary components on him and 2 weapons (mainly for stats) and then joined a stronghold with the expectation to get carried for once. Instead I ended up doing most of the work and basically just one-shot or better yet one-hit most enemies with the melee. Wish I had that much damage output on the Interceptor with a single melee attack. Also: how do people actually die as Colossus? You can literally just stand there and tank everything with some additional +% armor. I felt like I was cheating tbh. Can't imagine what a fully equipped one must feel like, can probably solo a GM3 stronghold...

It's a Hulk smash bonanza, especially with the 200% combo component and the AOE freezing component (you give up the 35% heal component, but jump-smash combos feel so good at GM3 even). Very addicting gameplay to be honest unless you get motion sick jumping up and down all the time. And you can die, but it takes a lot more compared to what you are used to as Interceptor. No Dodge after all. Enemies throwing fire at you? As Interceptor you are toast, but as Colossus you just receive 10% damage on your shield and smash on.

Hmm, I might compare numbers on the VB, yeah. Would be interesting. I will report if I get them. Don't know if I have time to play this weekend though. Also, no idea how many hours, I would reckon between 100-150, and have 5 legendaries atm. 2 useful ones

This morning I finished the challenge of might now it on to Resolve Yes, Resolve is much easier, should have that wrapped up on Tuesday. Wonder how many more of these there are? Uhm... none at the moment... only the champion of Tarsis rep one... but maybe they‘ll add some more challenges in future updates... one can hope
