Because it literally does more damage than the high level gear. It's not moot at all, are you just being purposefully dense? It has no useful inscriptions and adds nothing to your build. I don't think I'm being dense. This news is just more overblown bullshit to whine about, an outrage over nothing. If people are dumb enough to play the game with level 1 weapons for 6 days until it's patched, they can help themselves. Meanwhile in the rational world, this appears to have zero impact. Optimal weapon inscriptions are those that increase the damage of the very weapon they're on. Anything else is a pretty minor secondary buff (power recharge speed, for instance). The absolute best weapon inscription I've come across is +225% extra damage. I don't think there is anything better - maybe there could be, though hardly by much. A weapon with a +225% extra damage inscription is probably within the classification of a "god roll". Lo and behold, the reddit thread linked on the original post is reporting that a MW Assault Rifle with a +225% extra damage inscription is out-DPSed by its Level 1 common counterpart. So yeah, MW weapons even with the very best inscriptions are (for as long as this bug is unfixed) inferior to Level 1 common weapons. (obviously you can still take the advantage of the inscriptions on MW Components and Abilities when using Level 1 common weapons).

Note, report, patch, move on. Again, because this is a PVE-only game and since bugs like these will eventually be patched, the fact they exist is irrelevant? Not a big deal, then? It is just fine for looter shooter to be released with broken loot scalability and damage numbers that don't mean anything?

I just want to know how they tested the game. If you have no character stats page, how would they even have tested out all of these stats modifiers on everything? How is a player supposed to do it?

Option A - the stat page window is being worked on still. Not unheard of, just eyebrow raising. Option B - they don't want the player to know how it works.

They would log it in a console, or use whatever tools that game developers use for testing. I have no idea how are we supposed to test it though. They generally don't explain much, AFAIC the game doesn't tell you if stat can stack, is there a cap on them etc. Some sort of stats page would have been really helpful, but it may be that Bioware doesn't want players to see their stats clearly yet.

I doubt with the scaling it'd make much sense anyway. You're better off equipping your lvl 1weapon in any case.

Which is why I wrote that "it may be that Bioware doesn't want players to see their stats clearly yet". Probably there are even more issues with how stats work and stats page has been purposefully disclosed/cut out.

While it is something they should have caught or figured out before launch, I’m not that bothered by this one. It’s a small problem that they should be able to fix quick. It’s more funny than a big issue.
Still it may be a long run issue if they have a core scaling problem they don’t know how to resolve satisfactorily.

Your experience, as mine or anyone else's who haven't tried the glitch are very limited. Watch the videos posted on this thread, particularly on the first page. They clearly show how the damage numbers don't mean anything, such numbers are purely aesthetic.

No reason to make a tempest in a teacup now. It doesn't mean much if it gets fixed fast, which shoud happen next week. Well, I don't think a triple-A full priced loot-heavy game should have been released presenting bugs such as this one. If you think that is acceptable, that is on you. But not everyone is keen to lower their standards so much in order to defend this broken game.

Anthem don't seem more broken then other games I know. Would you like for me to point you to some videogame speedruns for some context? And videogames that aren't getting any more future patches, mind you. But lets remind everyone to the ME3mp infinite rocket glitch, since everyone is fine with still holding that game in high regards; Believe it was like 3x they tried to get rid of this bug, failed and guess what, game is still great. I don't know who holds ME3MP in high regards, but I am certainly not one of them. ME3MP is broken on consoles and twice as broken on PC. When it comes to its glitches, netcoding and anti-cheating mechanisms, it serves as a example of how not to make a video-game. That being said, it was a game released 7 years ago. And a broken game released 7 years ago does not excuse another broken game released this year. You can lower your standards to Bioware levels when it comes to how a game is acceptable during its release, but again, not everyone is keen to do so. As for "Anthem not being more broken than other games you know", well, several game reviewers are time and time again shitting (and many even getting tired of doing so) on how broken Anthem is, from its endgame gear coming from free chests to PS4 suffering hard crashes, from under 20 frames per second on Xbox One to starter weapons being more powerful than endgame ones. And these are people who play every major game that comes to the market. I for one would consider Anthem the most broken multiplayer game I've played over the recent years. I seriously don't know which games you have been playing that could be just as broken.

Fallout 76 is as broken if not more. Still can be fun for people for both games. Which does not excuse poor quality.
Though outside some stupid fraud I give Bethesda more of a pass as their marketing was more of a hey this is a experiment for us. So my expectations were far less.
