I'll try it out whenever it comes out on steam. I'm not big on supporting epic games and anti-consumer practices. The steam page for this says it's going to release August 2020: store.steampowered.com/app/870780/Control/

More RTX power sounds perfect for this one. Although I would wait for the 3080Ti or whatever the equivalent is, which probably will be available at the end of the year if Nvidia sticks to their usual MO.

So this one popped up in my Steam rec list the other day (and is available on GoG either late this week or next week). I'd actually completely forgotten it was a thing. For those who've played on PC - how did it handle? I've managed to avoid spoilers of any kind, other than the basic premise. Also, any comments about performance (especially ray tracing) would be appreciated.

Haven't yet tried it on m yra ytraced powered new PC yet. I likely will eventually just don't know exactly when atm.

It has DLSS 2.0, so I am expecting it to run pretty good on the entire RTX lineup, even with all RTX options at high/max. I think the basic premise is kinda all the game has in the story department. The rest is RTX eye candy and superhero mayhem combat with lots of environment destruction. I would try it only after I get a RTX card. We'll see today if the 30xx series will be it. That RTX 3090 better be real good and without an expected refresh down the line 🤔

I don't need a massively complex or nuanced story to enjoy a game (although it helps, obviously) - and eye candy can be enjoyable.

I haven't played the most recent expansion, though, because I never played Alan Wake. I am adding Alan Wake to my list!

Yeah the stor ycan b econfusing bu tit is interesting loved the whole telekenesis stuff though it made Jesse feel like an extremely powerful Biotic Shepard. TBH my only real criticism is it could have used difficulty settings.

It definitely should have had difficulty levels. I am not sure why it didn't have them!

Not much in the way of role playing, but I wasn’t expecting it to be, so that’s fine. Ran really smoothly as well. DLSS 2 is some serious black magic. Everything set to max (including RTX) and 4K resolution and had very few sections where the frame rate dropped below 60.
