To watch them get disappointed or pissed off, like with the TLOU2 streams.

I always liked watching old NES games like River City Ransom (that is probably my favourite NES game ever made) or Castlevania I-III. Even Double Dribble, or Blades of Steel, which I know was a port. Growing up, to me those games were often as much fun to watch as they were to play. I had somewhere in the neighbourhood of five or six dozen NES games, so many I can't remember all of the titles, but all of them I remember had that "fun factor". One game franchise that sticks out in my mind that I recall fondly because I received it as a surprise Christmas gift, along with my own 13" RCA TV, was The Wizards & Warriors trilogy. In particular I remember Wizards and Warriors II: Iron Sword. They weren't the best graphics of the time because the technology had limitations, maybe not even the best of what we call "gameplay mechanics", but they were just down-right FUN to play and watch. I think a great many modern titles (both PC and Console) are missing that crucial ingredient. But my very first gaming system was the Intellivision Entertainment System by Mattel. It was marketed to be the first Personal Computer (there were plans for a detachable keyboard and even a Speech Synthesizer, and from 1979-1990, four iterations were manufactured though they never really got off the ground as much as the original model, and the PC component idea was soon scrapped. About four hundred of the keyboards were manufactured, but to this day it remains unclear how many, if any at all, actually got into the hands of consumers, as soon, the FTC would cite Mattel for "false advertising" and Fraud because they promised consumers products that they never delivered on. several years of litigations ensued, nearly bankrupting Mattel Electronics. My dad had the original "Master Component" showed in the top right corner of this link en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IntellivisionHe had games like -the original D&D called "Crown of Kings" aka "Cloudy Mountain" and its sequel "Treasure of Tarmin" -Masters of the Universe (I loved watching the cartoon as a kid, so the game had a special meaning for me and there were parts that were quite difficult, but it was fun to play. Watching He-Man and Skeletor battle it out in the halls of Castle GreySkull.....Then watch as He-Man chased Skeletor from the Castle). -Poker/Blackjack (packaged with the system) -Major League Baseball -Tron Deadly Disks -ChipShots Golf -Safe Cracker (another game I tried but never fully understood how to play, so I think I only played it twice in all the years we had that system) -Auto Racing -NFL Football -Triple Action -Armor Battle -Space Battle -Sea Battle -Sub Hunt -Lock 'n' Chase -River Raid The Dreadnaught Factor (which was stupidly hard) but I always liked the box art -Donkey Kong To this day, I still think of all the fun and enjoyment I got from playing that system and I often think/feel that if we still had it today...I would still play it, even if only for the sake of nostalgia. But growing up (before I got my NES in 1988) that was my go-to gaming system. Even after I got my NES, I would often still favour playing the Intellivision because the games were so much fun, and it often reminded me of those gaming sessions I would have with my dad when I was younger. I had my NES until I was maybe 13 or 14, but sold it to a neighbour who had a much younger child who wanted to get into console gaming. A few years after that, I think I was about 17 or 18 at the time....I sold the Intellivision because the Input switch had broken and my dad didn't have the components to repair it. My dad said "nobody plays that kind of system anymore, it's lost its popularity...it's not worth anything. There are much newer, much better systems and technologies available now. Just give me 20 bucks for it if you can and I'll be quite happy." A guy stopped on the side of the boulevard, got out of his car walked up the drive way and his face lit up like a Christmas tree when he saw this system! He couldn't believe his eyes and never stopped smiling. He said "WOW! You have one of these!? I've been looking everywhere for this system, but could never find one. I've been all over the province looking for a system just like this one and can't find one anywhere. I cannot believe you have one! And you want to get rid of it??? Are you absolutely sure???" I said "Yeah, my dad doesn't want it anymore. We haven't used it in a few years because of the one input switches is broken. He says it's not worth anything, so he's happy just to get rid of it." "How much do you want for it?" he asked. "20.00" I said "What? Are you sure? It's worth so much more. A lot more. I'll give you more for it if you want, just name your price." I shook my head and replied "no, thank you. 20.00 dollars is a fair price." He handed me 20.00 and walked away happier than a kid in a candy store. I walked away, happy that I made someone happy. But I still often think back fondly on the memories of all the fun times I had with that system over the years. Some of my favourite childhood memories for sure.

For me it's the last determinant if I'm truly torn over whether I want the game or not.
It doesn't happen often, as usually I know my decision well in advance.
If it's something on console, but would otherwise be interested, then that's really my only option.
