Also: Considering they are making Cyberpunk 2077 that is supposed to have a character more open does not create any encouraging thoughts about how V is going to be. If that’s true, I’m not sure why you think it should be an issue? They are different franchises. Obviously, BioWare released Dragon Age: Origins, which is generally credited as one of the best games for playing different characters a couple of years after Mass Effect, which had a fixed protagonist (except for the male/female option and classes). The existing Witcher games are all about Geralt, so having another fixed protagonist for whatever they do next in that series wouldn’t be all that unexpected. There’s no reason to think they aren’t capable of making either type though. It’s just a decision on what type of game they are making. They might even want to try different things on their two big franchises. I would. |

Geralt is done, and I believe some of the finer moments were a result of having a set character.
I'm thinking, either do Vesemir or Ciri from the options in the poll. But why not Lambert or Eskel? They also have stories to tell, judging by the scars. And sometimes smaller, more personal stories are better than having to save the world for the umpteenth time.

I was hoping for a sequel starring Ciri personally. But either way I'm hyped for a Ciri lead game.

If there is going to be another witcher game i'd prefer it to be Ciri focused. At least she's got the presence to front a game.
I have my severe doubts about the notion of the fresh create your own witcher. Would just feel very sub-standard to geralt & his cast.
