Oh, wow. Nostalgia tsunami....that game was awesome. Yeah, I remember it took EVERYTHING I got to finish it. No save function, no pauses either and some scary maps. And a fat cat nearly the size of myself sleeping on my lap, weighing me down.  Good times.....such a loooooooong time ago. Cat gone, Amiga gone, game floppy gone, only I remain.

Thief: The Dark Project (Best Stealth-game ever made, and probably best game ever made) Really ? I think 2 is the superior one, but I guess that's like deciding between Godfather I and II.

Thief: The Dark Project (Best Stealth-game ever made, and probably best game ever made) Really ? I think 2 is the superior one, but I guess that's like deciding between Godfather I and II. The reason why I put the original Thief over the 2nd installment is I liked the supernatural elements a lot which Thief II totally lacked, and I think the story of the first game was a little bit better. Yes, Thief 2 is better in most ways, but these elements are more important to me. Also my favorite 2 missions were in Thief 1, the lost city and return to the cathedral. The latter being one of the creepiest missions in any game ever.

The latter being one of the creepiest missions in any game ever. Oh I agree then. I haven't finished Thief 2 yet but I did find that the supernatural aspects are better represented in the first one. And indeed... Return to the Cathedral is just an insane freak show. I think I still shiver a little when I think about those undead hammerites. What an awesome mission.

Seriously though I really like this list as well. You acknowledge Arcanum's superiority, you have a great mix of genres and what is probably the only racing game I've noticed in any list (might be wrong). As for Thief, I haven't played the 3rd and 4th but right now there's a summer sale on GOG and that franchise is bound to give those games away for pocket change.

There seem to be a few popular favourites that I haven't played...or played since they first came out .
