Dragon Age The Joyguard (formerly Hype Train) [Spoilers]

Still not hugely into that reveal trailer. It's okay, and defo didn't deserve "SUICIDE SQUAD!" and "this isn't Dragon Age!" (tell that to the intro to Leliana's Song which LITERALLY DID THE SAME THING!!) responses, but it felt... strange. Bioware apparently don't like it either (it was done by EA and a marketing agency I guess?)


Anyway, now we're a few days from release, I've been thinking back to the release of Inquisition and my first playthrough. This isn't going to be "hype" talk exactly, but I'll ramble on about how much Inquisition meant to me.

When Inquisition released, I was ill, or starting to be ill. I'll preface the rest and say it was nothing serious or life threatening but I had a chest infection, which normally a combo of my body and antibiotics would get rid of in a week(ish), but this time the antibiotics - 2 sets of different types - did nothing, and the infection stayed and I developed pleurisy. Like I said, nothing quite so serious or life threatening but it 'hit me for six' as they say, and I was exhausted.

Obviously, I was able to play my PS4 though and Inquisition was the biggest comfort, and kept me sane. The story, the characters, wandering the world, all the lore and Codex stuff, it was like I could just slip off into another world and forget the woes. It was great!

Obviously I won't be so ill this time (well, I bloody hope not!) but I hope the characters and story and world can grip me again!

For what complaints I have about Veilguard (poor Keep replacement, and reduction of companion utility in combat), including my pettiest grip that I will NEVER put a "the" in the name no matter what's on the boxart, I want WANT this game to be good and not fail. My problems are nothing to do with the "wokeness" of Dragon Age.

I know I won't finish Inquisition before Veilguard comes out, but that just means I'll be able to complete it while Veilguard installs AND updates for a few days. I only JUST got to Skyhold on an easy mode modded game, but my OCD won't let me not be a completionist.

An acquaintance of mine who has legitimate access (all of which you can believe or not) just summarized their last days of playing the game with "very linear but not, paced like ME3, it's like they finally made a game that plays like their good DLCs"

He knows that's all I cared to hear and now my spirit is ready. Thought maybe some of you get a kick out of that assessment as well.

Keeping up with the positivity, I was having a cool brohood moment with both a down's syndrome (? ) lady and then a black service worker in a wheelchair at the airport, they both commented on my PURPLE AS FUCK Morrigan tshirt I wore for my flight today, and for some reason my first thought was "fuck you, wokeagendaAaA bla bla haters we are legion" dragon age fans are awesome, and those don't sure as sally don't shitpost about others daring to feel represented.

I didn't get the chocolate to meld 100% perfectly into the milk. I may have needed to let it cook longer or I cooked a little too low. I've ruined milk on the stove before so I go real low and I was impatient. But it was the best tasting hot chocolate I've made. It does beat a packet mix
