lots of peoples first RPG apparently. Honestly the reaction feels a lot like the reaction to the original ME3 ending debacle. I think some people are subconsciously (or consciously, for that matter) equating the two decisions in a 'past game decisions not being used in choice matters series' kind of mentality. That's my theory about why the overreaction is so severe. If it were anyone but Bioware, it might not be this bad. if anything ME3 and the ending just proves how difficult something like this is since its the only RPG series to genuinely try to have choices matter in a series. And the more you are aware of doing that the less likely you are to actually have interesting choices in a game because they will make things too quantum. It's also why Eplers comment on reactivity in VG is both encouraging but also interesting.

Has the file size for Dragon Age: The Veilguard for the base game and deluxe edition DLC been released yet? Om the MS store for my XBX it says 325 MB and Sony doesn't have the file size listed yet. I think something like 100giga? Big baby.

I'm stuck between choosing a Lord of Fortune or a Grey Warden. Can someone help me choose my background? If you believe you're going to play more than once, flip a coin at which one to start with first.

Ok, I have gone through the starges of "WTF?", and I'm now in a state of chill. I wasn't expecting many more of my choices to carry through from DA1-3 anyway, certainly not to the level of depth of even a quarter of the keep, and especially with the 10 year gap and the relocation.
I am looking forward to seeing what Bioware can do with a blank(ish) slate.
Kinda think they should have been way more upfront about it from the moment the marketing began though, three choices is only a big deal because people got hyped thinking it was going to be something on par with the keep.

I didn't like Inquisition telling me that my Warden Aeducan ended up being mostly separated from her love (Leliana) for upwards of ten years because Leliana decided that working for the Divine was more important. I'm fine with Bioware letting me dictate my OCs' world states as much as I want to after the game is over. Are the codexes and cameos fun? Yes, they are. But how many player canon world states had to be converted into headcanons after DAI because of what the writers had to do to make Hawke and Alistair's appearances more than just a flyby 'hey hello goodbye' appearance (ie, meaningful to the plot)? I'm in the vast minority, I know, but I like what Bioware is doing in this case. Yes, I know fic exists. But I'll be honest, I wish I didn't need one for my Warden and Leliana to have a happily ever after together for an additional 10 years.

The internet is currently drowing in complaints over yesterday article on IGN about the world state. The way some people are overacting about it is something. lots of peoples first RPG apparently. Some people are really complaining as if that was the case isn't?

Technically, two choices because besides the Solas romance. The rest are only going to get one line of dialogue. I don't know how that'll even be brought up either; like Rook and the Inquistor literally just met. Rook: "So, hey Inquistor. What's your love life like?" Inquistor: "excuse me?" Rook is really going to be that blunt about it when asking? Whatever. I'm still way to excited for the game. The pros out way the cons.

There are those who are saying it is proff the devs dont care about fans or story or worse it is a literal fuck you to fans by devs. God sakes, I get it it is dissapointing and I agree but christ people get so melodramatic.

But I'll be honest, I wish I didn't need one for my Warden and Leliana to have a happily ever after together for an additional 10 years. I have a similar story, but on opposite end of the spectrum funnily enough, in that my Dalish warden is a hot mess and his relationship with Morrigan if he followed her through the mirror would end in disaster (doubly so with stress of raising a baby and the fact they’re both still so young themselves)… but world state always dictates they’re happy family if they stay together, ha. At the same time, I just acknowledge that as limitation of games and was really very happy with the little mentions of warden we got, even where it wasn’t perfect. It still felt meaningful.

Admittedly I might have missed it (which is why I'm posting here) but haven't seen any Mark of Death or equivalents in the Rogue kit. Would be really disappointing if it wasn't in Veilguard.

Adrenaline (a buff) kinda works like DAO Mark of Death, but it's on the player instead of the enemy. Duelist can make Adrenaline even more potent via passives. The system is very different from previous games thought, with the advantage(buff)/affliction(debuff) system and all the passives/traits that allow you to exploit those further.

So we can have above 10% of players who play them! I actually wonder how tall you can make a Dwarf. I might make the smallest possible thought.

Mostly a quick message for a thumbs-up, me-too, handshake. My exiled dwarven princess also romanced Leliana. My Aeducan was a longbow Champion. What was your Aeducan like? I lucked out with the "official" slides, because my lady was excessively helpful, diplomatic, and merciful, and it seemed to fit her alright, but I can see how it could easily be disappointing under different circumstances.

I love dwarves, so it is my favorite race for Dragon Age. Also: So we can have above 10% of players who play them! P.P.S. I would love to see the telemetry show a higher percentage this time.

P.P.S. I would love to see the telemetry show a higher percentage this time. Recent interview with Corinne mentioned Veilguard playtests were at 12%, but I somehow doubt it's going to be that high for the release. Mage is too popular and Dwarf can't be mage. But I'm going to make a Mourn Watch Dwarf Warrior as my first character.

I will approach these choices as if this was the last Dragon Age game, because the overwhelming negativity towards Veilguard does make it seem that way. I'm going with a Qunari Grey Warden, since it might be my last chance to play as either of those. And a rogue, because apparently was written with one in mind. What overwhelming negativity? Besides a couple of vocal trolls, the reception to Veilguard is positive. Youtube comments and Reddit mostly. "Graphics are ugly! The characters are ugly! Eww, looks like Fortnite! The combat is trash" and so on. But as far as I can tell, the visuals and gameplay are at least better than DAI.

My Aeducan was a two-handed warrior, very business-like and occasionally brusque when getting things done, and was completely and thoroughly Done with Doing Things by the end of the Blight. I pictured her and Leliana traveling for pleasure following the Blight with an occasional shopping trip for shoes for Leliana and hair ribbons for my Aeducan (she loved when Leliana played with her hair), so I was very sad to hear they'd been separated in the years after the Blight. In my head, she was very aware that she had a time limit on her life, and would have spent as much time with Leliana as she could manage. While I could see her going in search of a cure for the Calling, it wouldn't set well with her to be separated for that long from Leliana, especially for politics because...well. 'politics' is a bad word to her after Bhelen and the Landsmeet.

10 years? Holy hell. I am old and gray now, got married and had kids during that time. Its almost a lifetime of events waiting for this game. Was so close to thinking It would never happen. The last month will be brutal, but as you say final stretch. How much do you get to play as a married man with kids? Not much, maybe a couple of hours per day If you're lucky. With a full time job as well life Is busy. Still saved some vacation days for a while. Thinking 4 weekend halloween weekend! Get as much Dav as possible In, hype!
