Hey guys,
I came to love the co-op mode of the recent games, ME3, MEA, DA:I and I wish they would put more workto add more to it. Do you think they will continue with something similar this time as well? Or maybe they will try to expand it even further?
What would you like to see in terms of multiplayer?

I would like DA4 to not have multiplayer.
If it does have multiplayer, I would like it to be completely separate from single player. This means single player rewards (including cosmetics) should not be locked behind multiplayer. I also shouldn't have to grind in place of doing multiplayer. Multiplayer should have no impact on single player quests.

I doubt they would do more then what is already there. The one thing I would apricate to be changed and would probably impact how much I play it is the gear system. I really disliked there wasn't a cap to how many times you could get a weapon before it stopped dropping in Inquisition unlike the two Mass Effect MP modes. That and the punishing final boss battles is why I only played the MP for Inquisition a few times.

I remember the crafting aspect of DAI's MP felt very non-intuitive and annoying. So hopefully they'll dump that in the next iteration.

I don't mind the MEA approach, where the MP is loosely connected to SP … sending strike teams out, via Kandros. The minor benefits gained in SP were nice, but wouldn't significantly impact a person playing SP that didn't want to touch MP with a 10' pole.
Generally, I thought ME3MP was the best of the three … the most well developed, nice numbers of maps, factions, ties to the SP story. Except for the readiness score … which ticked a lot of SP folks off, mostly, I think BioWare got it right … in fact, sorta caught lightening in a bottle.
I don't really like the loot system that I saw in DAIMP and Anthem's is not so hot. ME3 did it better. MEA started out along those lines, then polluted the manifest with bulwark weapons … that were pretty much padding and really annoying. Siphon and Concussive should have been third mod slots, not new weapons … so to take that to DA4, don't do the loot system in DAIMP, don't pad the loot system of MEAMP, but something along the line of ME3MP.
Unique characters with well thought out back stories, abilities, traits, powers and passives. Customization of those characters' outfits so we can make them our own.
Devs who make MP who actually play MP … who love what they are doing and not just filling a square … this is part of what made ME3MP so magic … the devs were attached to what they were creating and as it evolved over many months, turned it into something amazing … and regularly joined us in matches.
So, what's important? Many interesting maps. Good factions. MP themes that tie to SP story. Separate SP and MP, so folks who only want to do SP can do so and not blame MP for shortcomings in SP. Loot that is an actual reward and not padding. Make it fun, so folks want to play it. Allow for solo play (and don't punish us for not having a full lobby). Distinct characters, with distinct powers and passives. Devs who love what they are creating. In a lot of ways, ME3MP morphed into DA4MP, with MEAMP-style limited ties to the SP game.

Just to give my 2c about Andromeda. I think they dumped a lot into the last patch for the game to try and extend the life of MP for as long as possible knowing they wouldn't be able to add any additional content to the game. That is why they added all the variants to the weapons and increased the character level to 20, for I know with ME3MP after awhile there was nothing left to accomplish.

BUT, they really need to address the gates on barrier and armor. Also they need to address the balance better... and no same item 1000x until new item and no forever uphill of CON/CUN/WIL Lets talk about Qunari spearmen shall we? I still enjoy it more than me3mp for sure

I'm of two minds on this.
1. MP mode like Andromeda or Inquisition is just fine.
-or-
2. *begins sweating* How the last two Ghost Recon games does cooperative multiplayer. IE...well essentially you have the option to team up with other people to play the campaign, interact with your friends, get help with the mission, etc. Now I do stress this is entirely OPTIONAL in these games, it is entirely possible to do the entire thing by your lonesome and you lose absolutely nothing for it from a reward or story standpoint. Also they avoid that potential bugaloo they had in TOR where other people were making decisions for you since everything was in separate instances.
Now of course the issue is with the GR games that the AI teammates are basically just place holders for you not playing with real people. So...they really lack personality or a role in the story. Now BioWare should be able to avoid this with Dragon Age but if they can't...then this becomes null and void, run far run fast.

It'd be like the War Table missions except I'd get to bring my own team of 4 there. I don't want to play some Rando like Andromeda was trying to encourage me to do.
People would drop in and play 1 of the 4 companions.

MP will ruin this franchise if it's given more focus than the single RPG campaign element.
So, what would I like to see? ... no MP.

My hope is that DA will continue to keep SP & MP separate from one another, as it'd ruffle the fewest feathers. I'm not sure how realistic that hope is, but we'll see. That said, there's a few things I wouldn't mind seeing in DA4MP.
Maybe take a page out of the Trespasser DLC and use the Eluvians to travel to different self-contained locations across Thedas, The Deep Roads, Underwater, The Crossroads, the Fade, you name it.
Shake it up - change up physics in the Crossroads/Fade. Have specific areas that accelerate/decelerate time like in DAI. Change up gravity like in the Hidden Chateau, so players can walk on the walls and the ceiling. Maybe some regions have super-light gravity and you can Hulk-Jump around the environment. Maybe have environments that change on their own. Each stage you could pass through an Eluvian that sends you to some random location. Include some super-rare locations and bosses.
Encourage more cooperation and more interactive elements in the environments. One person can aggro enemies into locations where other players might spring traps on, or use large weapons against. Destructible environments. Eject enemies into the void.
Include surprises and random events. New foes might appear who are indiscriminate in who they attack. For example, a school of sharks/boss monster might appear in an underwater environment and just go after everyone.
Maybe have a cool hub in the Crossroads that is built so players can walk on walls, ceiling, with Eluvians and gravity-defying pathways (again like the Hidden Chateau).
The idea here is to create it in such a way that it's not the same, predictable grind every time.

They were working on procedurally generated worlds for ME:A before they abandoned it. Apparently they did make quite a bit of progress with it, but couldn't make it fun enough. It would be interesting if they could refine it to work on smaller scaled areas for MP.

Well they could do like they did for ME 3 with the hazards just do *more* and make it entirely randomized with a list of various effects you could put in -or- have special conditions and challenges for like daily or weekly stuff on the BioWare side of things. Like they could have an option for the platforms to randomly start floating on a map and then the next week they could be on fire.

I need there to be story for MP to be interesting to me, and even then, Isabella's existence and the limited banter that was present in DAI MP wasn't enough for me to continue to bother. I don't know how they could put enough story into a location while not making it feel like the Single players end up missing something.

I'd prefer all focus to be put into single player, but if they HAVE to have multiplayer, I'm hoping its entirely separate from the single player. I don't think there's anything bioware could realistically do to make me interested in MP, tbh. I mean, maybe if you could have a customizable character or something, and more of a story to it? But as long as MP isn't prioritized, or has content locked behind it, I don't really care what they do with it since I likely won't touch it.

While it's almost certain we'll get mp, I hope it remains separate from sp. And I pray to never see Narnia again.I hope it is just like DAI's Multiplayer, with the characters having amazing banter among each other. My biggest regret about these characters is that the only one that we recruit in sp is Amund the Skywatcher. The rest we may briefly see in Skyhold (and you wouldn't even know who they were if you didn't play mp) or have one or two random war table missions (once again, their names tell you nothing if you didn't play mp). Even that is restricted to non-DLC characters, since the ones that arrived later got nothing in sp. So yea, I wish their presence in sp was handled differently in DAI, mostly so that sp-only players also got a chance to meet them, without mp. I mean, who wouldn't want to meet Luka?

Preferably, none at all. If multiplayer has to be there, I would prefer it’s isolated entirely from the singleplayer game, and exists as its own microcosm of characters in other locales. I would like to see better customization for multiplayer toons than what we’ve gotten.
